Special Friend

Happy Wednesday, sparkly friends! I'm fluttering in with the start of a new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund! The theme is always Anything Goes and the winner will receive a generous gift certificate to the store.♥️

I created a card for a treasured friend, showcasing some newer additions to the store from Wild Orchid Crafts, Wycinanka, and Pion Design. So many dreamy product lines.♥️
My friend is everything beautiful with a heart of pure gold and I want to remind her how special she is to me.♥️The gorgeous papers are from Pion Design's Where the Roses Grow, including the stunning vintage lady. She is centered within Wycinanka's lovely Charming Oval Frame, which I covered in crackle paste.
I'm ecstatic that Kelly and Karen are now offering Wild Orchid Crafts flowers! The sweet arrangements throughout my card consist of English Roses, Chrysanthemums, Plum Roses, Vintage Roses, Cherry BlossomsMiniature Sweetheart Blossoms, and Bead Berry Spray Cluster.
Sunflower Pearl Lace beautifully ruffles along the bottom, which I paired with crinkle ribbon from DL.Art's Coffeehouse Bundle 3. The stunning die cut frame atop my card is Sue Wilson's Delicate Garden. Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourishes frolic within the flowers.

I hope she enjoys this little gift as much as I enjoyed creating it for her. Be sure to check out the delightful inspiration from my teamies and play along for a chance to win a gift certificate to 7 Kids! Thank you for visiting and have a sparkly day.♥️

Sweet Love (and a new mission)

Happy New Year, sweet friends! I hope your 2017 is filled with good health and dreams come true.♥️It's time for new challenges at 7 Kids College Fund (Anything Goes with the option of Valentine) and Deep Ocean (Anything New)! There are generous prizes to be won at both, so I hope you'll play along with us! Naturally I've used a plethora of Wycinanka chippies for the occasion.

My project is another tip-toe into shabby scrapbooking! I love this crafty outlet and I am eager to grow in it. The purpose of this scrapbook page kicks off something new I am doing this year, which I will explain just below.
This project begins an expansion of my mission to spread love to those in dire need. Scrapbooking is innately beautiful in the fact that it preserves sweet memories created throughout life. For most of my terminally ill little friends I adore and support, their lives are far too short... leaving their heartbroken parents clinging to the precious few months or years of memories made. I am designing scrapbooks this year for parents of children battling diseases for which there is no cure. It is hard on my heart, as I love them so deeply... but with each carefully chosen detail, I say another prayer for the miracles that are desperately needed.

This is my first page of Ella (photos taken by Crush Photography), the sweetest ray of sunshine that I fell in love with many moons ago.♥️She is 4 years old and battles every day. We nearly lost her last year, but God granted grace. He has a purpose for her and we will forever believe for her miracle. Her mom has the gentlest, most loving heart and I am blessed to know her.
I used a heap of new goodies to celebrate the sweetness that is Ella! The gorgeous papers are from Pion Design's Where the Roses Grow, which I scooped up the moment they arrived at 7 Kids. They are dreamy and perfect for such a princess. All of the flowers are from my beloved Wild Orchid Crafts (coming soon to 7 Kids!), of which I cannot get enough. Ella is filled with so much love that even the leaves are turning pink.

Lace Flower Netting provides soft detailing along the bottom. My central focal point is comprised of three beautiful Wycinanka chippies: The large Elegance frame is one of my favorites, which I have filled in with iridescent beads for a touch of whimsy. The smaller heart frame is one of Wycinanka's newest offerings, which is embossed with Shabby Pink Frantage.
The last part of the central trio is the stunning lace heart... it truly makes my heart flutter as it delicately flourishes in natural beauty. Amidst the Butterfly Tassel trim (currently sold out) on top, the page opens up in floral delight, encouraging Ella and her mom to believe in the miracles blossoming from within.
The hot air balloon is another Wycinanka new release (coming soon to 7 Kids!). I was so excited to see it in my Wycinanka DT box that I altered my nearly-complete layout to include it! I layered it with the gentle lilac butterfly paper, which I think Ella's giant heart will delight in.♥️
To encourage my sweet friends, I chose 'follow your dreams' as my theme. The darling bunny is covered with crackle paste. I couldn't resist adding this cutie pie because Ella loves animals so much. The chippie border peeking from behind the center panel is from Wycinanka's Sweet Dreams set. The precious butterfly is a die from Joy! Crafts Vintage Flourishes collection.

Flutter on over to check out the gorgeous projects from my teamies at 7 Kids and Deep Ocean! Then link up and inspire us with your heartfelt creations. Thank you for visiting and I wish you a sparkly day.♥️

Crafty Fun with 7 Kids College Fund

Hello, sweet friends! I hope your day is as lovely as you.♥️My long-time crafty friends may recall my design team work with 7 Kids College Fund... many moons ago! I became very good friends with my DT sisters during that journey. Recently the store was to close until two of those friends (Karen and Kelly) purchased it.

They asked me to contribute in their DT on some way, which of course is an honor! I will be joining them for their monthly challenges. It is a pleasure to work alongside my sweet and talented friends. The store recently re-opened and today begins the first challenge under new ownership at the 7 Kids blog! Our theme is Anything Goes! The DT is adding a twist of Autumn/Halloween.
My card is filled with harvest love.♥️ The darling image is from Joy! Crafts Autumn Paper Bloc. She is framed with a beautiful Wycinanka chipboard frame from their Elegance collection. Whimsical Sunflower Pearl Lace dances below.
She is surrounded in Wild Orchid Crafts flowers (coming soon to 7 Kids!), from within Magnolia Heart Flourishes scroll. A Harvest Wine bow is centered with a stunning button from the Rhinestone and Pearl Button set.
Cheery Lynn Two of Hearts dies serve as extra harvest love beneath the My Craft Spot sentiment (no longer in business). My papers are from Maja Design's Walking in the Forest and my card base is made with Go Kreate Frame Frilly 7 dies.

One lucky crafter who plays along with us will win a lovely gift certificate to the 7 Kids store! I hope you'll join us. :) Be sure to check out my teamies' creations on the blog, where seasonal inspiration awaits.
Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a sparkly day. ♥️

Getting to Know Me: A Blog Hop with a Difference

This is my first of two posts today!
For the My Craft Spot post, please scroll up.

Happy Monday, sweet friends! I'll be back later this morning with a new project, but first I have a special post! What a joy to participate in a different type of blog hop: one in which we share a little bit about our work and creative process as we get to know each other better. :o)

I am honored to have been tagged by my sweetest friend Lisa of A Mermaid's Crafts. You can learn more about her (and be inspired beyond compare) by reading her blog hop post HERE. She is even lovelier than her work, which is saying a lot. :o) Lisa is a cornerstone in my life. Our friendship is a rare treasure... the kind you cling to for dear life. She is the one I turn to with the happiest of news to share, as well as the scariest. Much is made of 'moments,' but what sticks with me is the opposite. The transition from fellow crafting blogger to cherished friend was so seamless that I have no idea when it happened. Her love and joy for crafting are infectious. I am forever thankful that we were brought together through a love of pretty papers.

In many ways, my paper crafting journey began as a distraction. I was heartbroken and empty, as my ultimate passion of dance was slipping away. Injuries were mounting and pain was chronic. Creativity has always been a part of my life, so while sidelined I searched for a new outlet.
I happened upon an online group of paper crafters and my curiosity was piqued! I quickly became enamored with the patterned papers, flowy ribbon, and endless embellishments. I fumbled my way through the beginning, using a black Crayola marker through alphabet stencils for sentiments. (Make it work!)
Kaleidoscopic Sparkles sparkled to life in May of 2011 so I could play along in National Scrapbooking Day fun. I had just received my first die-cutting machine and was exploring the new design options that had opened up to me! Several months into this new creative journey, I found the true purpose for my work: the I Feel the Love Project. We create for those in need of love and hope. I still wasn't dancing, but my artistic passions were weaving together to form an intricate choreography of love.
Why a blog name that gives no indication of paper crafting? When asked, I refer back to what I wrote as I began this new journey. Every craft (dance, card-making, baking, photography) is its own beautiful sparkle. But together they portray every joyous beat of my heart in a bouquet of kaleidoscopic color... like shimmery sunbeams engaged in a ballet upon a sunset-clothed ocean. The pattern changes and the emphasis shifts, but that's what makes it lovely. The dance is only known by One, and I continue to learn it a tiny bit at a time as I seek, explore, and create.
What am I working on right now?
I am preparing for some upcoming My Craft Spot fun and sweet creations for this month's I Feel the Love recipients. :o) I am also working on finding creative balance to enliven dormant parts of my crafty heart.
Why do I create what I do?
I create because it brings hope, love, and joy to the charity's recipients. It shows them that they never fight alone. There is no greater feeling than using a passion for a heavenly purpose.
How does your creative process work?
It begins with a prayer. I pray for God to guide my heart and hands... for our love to flow through every inch of what we're about to create. This is vital, since most of my work goes to people I will never know. But God knows the precious hands who will hold each project... I let Him show me what will bring a smile to their battling hearts.
What is my Signature Style?
I do not have one! I just create from the heart, driven by a need to love. :o)
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
It doesn't. We all inspire each other... differences do not matter.
Some of my work inspired by loved ones:
Some of my work inspired by those caring for children with cancer:
Some of my work inspired by children fighting for their sweet lives:
I have tagged two friends who will share their posts with you on Monday, August 4th. I am so thankful not only for them, but for every friend I've made. You all are beautiful people and I count myself blessed to know you! :o) Please visit them, as you will be continually inspired. They tap into different styles and genres, so you never know what will be waiting for you when they post. :o)

Kate's heart is one of the most beautiful on Earth! (I'm not even exaggerating.) Regardless of how hectic her life is, she is never too busy to help a friend. Love shines through everything she does, as it bubbles up out of her every moment. :o) She cherishes her family, which is one of my favorite things about her. Her faith is her strength and I am grateful to be walking the narrow path with her! It's simply an added bonus that her talent is also a joy to behold. :o)

Shelly of My Paper Love
When I first encountered Shelly, it was like getting a new magazine of inspiration... and years later, it still hasn't ended. Her work is filled with such sweetness and beauty, whimsy and charm. It's invaluable to have crafty stops that light up the heart and she has long been one of mine. :o) Not only is she talented, but she is also a sweetheart! If I had to describe her work in a single word, I would say joyous. She is a blessing and I am grateful to know her. :o)
You deserve a sparkly gold star for sticking with me this long! :o) I hope you will visit Lisa, Kate, and Shelly... you will be happy you did! Thank you again for tagging me, Sweet Lisa! :o)

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Happy Wednesday, my crafty friends! I hope you're having a beautiful week. :o)

Today begins a fun new challenge at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog, so I hope you'll join us! I was in need of a pretty little gift, so I turned to the gorgeous Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments collection. I made a pillow box using one of my favorite designs, which is part of my contribution to this month's I Feel the Love Project recipients. We are showering love upon victims of domestic violence and their children.
With such beautiful paper, I did not want to over-embellish it. After wrapping it with tulle and tying a floofy bow, I centered it with a lovely burlap butterfly. It and the tiny trail of flowers behind it are from Petaloo's Apricot Burlap Blossoms and Butterflies collection. For my sentiment, I used one of the lovely banners included in the Sweet Sentiments paper pad.
Inside of the box is an array of sweet flowers from the Tattered Lace Lacy Daisy metal die set. I LOVE this line, as everything is so elegant. I kept the two sizes of lacy daises separate, but layered the shadow dies. They are centered with pearls to coordinate with the Wild Orchid Crafts pearl sprays I tucked within the tulle. The papers are also from Sweet Sentiments.
You have two weeks to play along with us, so I hope to see you linking up at the Challenge Blog! We love seeing your creations! :o) Have a blessed day, everyone!

You Are Amazing!

Happy Wednesday, my sweet friends! I hope you're having a beautiful week. :o)

Today I'm featuring some fabulous Memory Box stencils carried by 7 Kids College Fund!  For my stenciling inspiration, I made a tag for someone who loves fashion and all things pretty!
The background design is the gorgeous Flourish stencil, which I inked with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass distress ink. The dress form is from the Dress Maker stencil, which I fussy-cut so I could pop it up with foam tape for dimension. I inked the stand with Walnut Stain and the dress with Tumbled Glass. I laid the beautiful Tessatina stencil atop the blue ink and sponged in the pattern with Dusty Concord
The fun measuring tape stencil is part of the Dress Maker set, which I accented with pearls. I added lace and ruffly ribbons, along with flowers and a button for an assortment of prettiness. :o) The Wild Orchid Crafts flowers sparkle with Wink of Stella and the leaves are from the Tattered Lace Lacy Daisy metal die set. The pearl strand is also from WOC.

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 3 stamp set, which I cut out with the label die from the Jar Basics metal die set. I used my favorite purple Jute String for the My Mind's Eye button. This was a FUN little project! :o)

A week remains in our current challenge at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog, so I hope you'll play along with us! Have a blessed day! :o)

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Hello, my dear friends! Unfortunately I have been MIA the past couple of weeks due to an immensely painful arm/shoulder injury. I am attempting to return to craftiness, although it is a very slow process. Expect simplicity from me for a while as it heals. I just can't do very much right now due to pain. :( I can start typing again every day or two, so I will be around to say hi later today!

On a happier note, a new challenge begins today at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! The Design Team added a twist to our inspiration: Tag It! We would love to see you add the optional twist when you play along with us by either creating a tag or including a tag on your project. :o)

I made a sweet little mason jar tag for a special kiddo. Courtesy of several adorable papers from Doodlebug Designs' Springtime paper pad, I'm sending her a jar of happiness. :o) It is for the July recipient of the I Feel the Love Project, where we are sending love and sunshine to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Isn't this paper precious? It just lights up the heart! Beneath the mason jar lid I added a tiny lacy border trim from the Tattered Lace Beloved Borders die set. The jar itself is embossed in gold for extra sunshiny warmth.

The gorgeous butterfly is one of the new metal die releases from Wild Rose Studio: Little Butterfly! I love that it's two pieces, as it enabled me to use sunny paper for the body and rainbow stripes for the wings. The wings are covered in Star Dust for sparkle. A few Doodlebug Spring Sprinkles enamel dots accent the corner for fun texture. :o)
I also used some My Craft Spot goodies! The mason jar stamp that I used for my tag base is from the Jar Basics stamp set. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags 3, which is cut out with the coordinating Tiny Tags Metal Dies. The bright jute string is Parrot Green, which matches the bright papers so beautifully.

Zip on over to the Challenge Blog to see the lovely work from my teamies and join in the fun! I look forward to seeing what you create. :o) Have a blessed day!

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Happy Wednesday, my sparkly friends! I hope you're having a happy week! :o)

Today begins a new challenge at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! The theme is Anything Goes, so link up whatever craftiness you're working on!

This week I made an encouragement card with a stylish stamp from Stamping Bella: Uptown Girl Sunny is Stylish! It is part of my contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project collection, where we are creating for an amazing community center to give encouragement to children and families who utilize their agency, providing shelter, food, clothing. etc. There is also a youth center for ages 4-18, where hot meals are provided, as well as games and computers. I trust there will be a teen girl (or even a sweet mother) who this card is destined for... perhaps one with secret big dreams or simply an affinity for girly girl things. This is to tell her I believe in her and her future!
What a fantastic image to encourage someone to believe in their dreams! She is colored with Copics, except for her suitcase which I paper-pieced for a fun pattern. (I just started practicing coloring folds and pleats... I am a work in progress!) The panel is trimmed with one of the beautiful border dies from the Tattered Lace Beloved Borders set. My background papers are from Echo Park's Be Mine collection, while most of the browns are from Core-dinations
For fashionable French flair, I used my new La-La Land Crafts Eiffel Tower die! Isn't it a beauty? I couldn't resist adding an elegant flourish of flowers and pearls. The Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish is decorated with Wild Orchid Crafts roses and a sprinkling of pearls. The corner accent is the lovely La-La Land Crafts Filigree Corner die.

The My Craft Spot sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments stamp set, which worked perfectly for this card. :o) Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a blessed day. :o)

Birthday Sweetness :)

Hello, sweet friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week. :o) I'm popping in today with a sweet little birthday card for a special kiddo, showcasing some products from 7 Kids College Fund! This is part of my contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project, soon to be given to a beautiful heart who is going through trying times.

One of my favorite lines carried by 7 Kids is Wild Rose Studio. (As previously stated!) Their stamps are delightful, their papers are beautiful, and their dies are gorgeous! This creation features goodies from one of Wild Rose Studio's newer releases: Squirrel on Branch stamp and Bluebell paper pad!
These coordinating elements are pure sweetness! The stamp is colored with Copics and layered upon one of the dies from the Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles set. Star Dust adds a touch of sparkle to the flowers. The papers in this pad are truly whimsical and beautiful... I didn't want to cover up too much of this one.
La-La Land Crafts' Heart Banner die decorates the corner in festive love, which I've layered and accented with Honeydew twine from My Craft Spot. Two of the heart cut-outs from the banner flutter in the sky for an extra touch of sappiness. My sentiment, which hangs from an added Cheery Lynn Designs flourish, is stamped upon a Spellbinders Standard Circle (Small) and is layered atop a Spellbinders Lacey Circle. This is one of my favorite greetings from My Craft Spot's new Build A Birthday stamp set.

The interior is decorated with another lovely design from the collection:

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Hello again! This is my second post of the day! For Day 3 of the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party, please click HERE or scroll down! :o)

Today begins a new Anything Goes challenge at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! The DT added a twist to our projects for the challenge: embossing! This card is also part of my contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project collection, where we are crafting for those less fortunate in the community of New Life Shops. Their outreach includes providing shelter, clothing, and food to those in need. IFTL is creating encouragement and birthday cards for the children and families who utilize this agency.

Embossing is one of my favorite techniques and I couldn't resist doubling up on it! My Crafty Individuals Wild Flowers and Butterflies stamp is heat-embossed, while the cream middle panel is dry embossed.
This is one of my favorite (and go-to) nature stamps! It's so lovely and versatile. I opted for bright and sparkly blue embossing powder, which also includes specks of silver, red, and green. (Blue Blaze from Michael's... I love this color!) I sponged a sunshiny background with two Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw.
My stamp is layered upon a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis base, which I've accented with a Wild Rose Studio Blossom Burst. Unfortunately my middle panel is a bit (okay, HUGELY) washed out in these pictures, but it is embossed with a lovely pattern and trimmed with one of the gorgeous borders in the Tattered Lace Beloved Borders set. I remain completely enamored with this set! The tiny butterflies are from a Fiskars punch, which I've covered in Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

My papers are from the Teresa Collins Everyday Moments paper pad. My sweet sentiment is from Lili of the Valley's Dreamy Days Circular Sentiments. It is layered upon one of the sweet doilies in My Craft Spot's Tiny Doilies set. My Buttercup crinkle ribbon is also from MCS, which I've centered with a Wild Orchid Crafts rose.

Lastly, an angled view to show the pretty interior. Note: The color of the embossing is accurate in the ABOVE photos! The super sparkly powder dulls the shade's appearance in all of the angular photos, of course. Oy!
I hope the recipient feels the divine light I tried to replicate in this creation. :o) Flutter on over to the Challenge Blog to check out the inspiring embossed creations from my DT sisters! I hope you'll join in the fun, as your work is always a joy to see. :o) Have a blessed and beautiful day!
