Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Witches Brew

Hey Friends!

I'm using this set Vintage Halloween Lables from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff again this week for our group post.  Two weeks in a row... I liked it that much ;)
I decided this label with the Witches Brew would be perfect for my card that would hold a couple of tea bags.

Here is the inside decorated with patterned paper and traditional stamps...

This is a close up of the front label, my coloring and the Stickles I added to the crystal ball for a little bling.  I was also able to size this image to fit my Nestabilites, so layering was a snap!

Here's the entire set:

Love this set for all the great Halloween images it has for cards, favors and home decor items!

Thanks for dropping by today and now it's time to visit Lindsay and the rest of the team today for all kinds of fabulous inspiration!

Birthday Tea

Hi and Happy Monday!

I'm really happy to participate in the blog "waltz" at Waltzing Mouse Stamps, where the theme is "Birthday". I finally ordered some stamps earlier this month, since there was a free shipping special. A sucker yes, but a happy sucker I am. The stamps are pretty fabulous.

I purchased a couple of stamp sets that coordinate with my Nestabilities dies, and one set of Tea sentiments. The set however, has this lovely tea cup image. Lookie...

Isn't she dainty? I paper pieced the cup and added a little accent with my white gel pen.

Here is a close up of the sparkle I added to the steam. I couldn't resist.

Well, this will be going off in the mail at the end of the month. I'm safe posting this, I'm sure the lady that this is going to, doesn't read my little blog :)
Thanks for the visit and have a happy day!

Sip and Relax

Good Evening Everyone! I'm participating in the monthly blog hop at Papertrey Ink. The theme was to create something inspired by the design team here, and I have a project inspired by Nichole Heady. Here is her Trifold Teabag Card, and you can find her instructions here on her blog.

I made mine for my best friend's mom who celebrated a milestone birthday yesterday. When I was in high school, this lovely lady worked in the fine china section of a department store, and to this day, she keeps in touch with her old co workers. Many of the get togethers are over tea...This turned out to be the most appropriate set of stamps and project to celebrate this happy occasion. Thanks Nichole!
I used the Birthday Basics set for the inside sentiment...

And I loved using two sided paper for this project...Made the finished project complete without a lot of doing on my part. Gotta love easy!

Thanks for hopping by!

Tea Box with Mini Notes and a Tag

Good Evening Everyone!

It's the 25th of the month and that means it's time for a Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! Yay! The theme of the hop is quick wraps or tags, so I am showing off one of my Tea Boxes I have made for gift giving this holiday season. I used my Cuttlebug and the Tea for Two set to decorate my box. To keep things simple, I stayed with a monochromatic color scheme of navy and white, which provides a clean , crisp look.

This is the view from the top...

And these are the simple tags I used to complete the wrapping in a simple cello bag. Just a quick stamp, and cut out with my Nesties (Labels 4) and the package is complete!

This photo is the back of the box, showing off the mini-notes and envelopes I included to make this gift more complete. As you can see, they are a simple stamped image on a card that is 3 3/4" x 2 3/4".

I hope this reminds everyone that not every card, wrap or tag has to have tons of layers or embellishments to make a beautiful gift and presentation.

Thanks for hoppin' by!

Coffee or Tea?

Hi All,

Another super cute card from my swap last week. Designed by Gayle, it's a darling cup made from punches! I just love how the embossed background swirls compliment the flourish stamp used to make the steam from the cup. Great combination of colors too...

And my close up of the bling!
This card would make a great companion to those hot cocoa holders I showed earlier. Well, I'm in the mood for another cuppa joe, so until next time, here are the details I know...

Accordian Purse

After looking at these pictures, I realized I didn't take a side shot. (It has the cute polka dot coordinating papers there and on the handle.) Oh well, too late now...I already gave this gift away...but this is what I mentioned I would post earlier in the week.

I wish I could remember where I got the instructions from, but I jotted them down months ago before I started blogging. It took me about an hour to complete and I used papers I purchased on sale last year. The flower embellishment was made using a small Cuttlebug embossing folder, punching it out using the Stampin Up scallop punch and finishing up with a circle punched from the coordinating paper. A magnet keeps it shut. ( I tried a Velcro dot, but I thought it held it too tight and was bending the card stock when I opened it.)

I decided to fill it with tea since the weather has turned chilly, and it fit the large Celestial Seasonings packets perfectly. When the tea is gone, it is perfect to organize receipts for the up coming holiday season.

Thanks for letting me share this today and here are the rest of the specifics not mentioned above.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

It's time for the September Blog Hop!

This is my first chance to participate in the monthly hop over at Papertrey Ink, and this is the little bag I designed to participate! The object was to recycle something from the packaging of your stamp shipment.

I chose to use the plastic from the box that the stamps came in to cover the window opening that the tea bags can be seen through. Here is a closer pic...

This was simple to make and could be used for favors, teacher gifts, get well soon...Endless possibilities. I love having little things like this on hand for a quick gift. Well, I will be blog hopping later tonight...Thanks to you for hopping by!

My Very Own Tea Box

Hi all!

I was So excited when I came up with this idea of making a tea box to hold the Celestial Seasoning tea packets...I came up with the dimensions myself (Woo Hoo!) and decorated the box. Isn't it cute??!

I know it's not fancy, but I really liked the simplicity and gift giving/craft fair potential. Then it hit me, and I realized Stampin Up sells a die for the Big Shot that makes a box that looks like this! (Called Box #2) So much for my original idea! Oh well, I still like it. I am not sure exactly how large the Box #2 ends up being when assembled, but mine is made from a 12x12 piece of card stock. The approximate finished dimensions are 5 1/2 L. by 2 1/2 w., by 3 1/4 H.

Here it is with the tea bags inside. If you would be interested in a tutorial, leave me a comment and I will try and make one if there is enough interest. (That would be another first for me!)

Once again, thanks for visiting and for all the kind words from everyone. Have a great weekend!
