Nostalgic Christmas

Hi, I hope you’re doing ok.

I’m looking forward to Tuesday, when hopefully I can relax a bit!

A kind friend gave me a couple of old paper sets that can be combined to make a card.

I don’t know exactly where they’re from but I know they’re from an established company.

This was my favourite….

You get a thumbnail picture of a finished layout to copy.
I just distressed the layers a bit, and added extras like the gold stars.

The poinsettia Robin one is pretty too…

Very different style for me, but I enjoyed putting them together.

Challenges:

(December, pick a previous theme)
This is the previous theme I chose

Take care and see you soon

Christmas Mice

I need more practice colouring in, so here’s two cards …..

I was so lucky to be able to use some of a friends stash of wooden stamps,

and couldn’t resist this cute one…

I stamped this one on crumb cake card and coloured with pencils…

…..adding some white dots and highlights with a gel pen.
I happened to have a white frame in my stash.

Then I stamped onto white card, this time using blend pens to colour.

I added a layer of gold and red card, plus touches of wink of Stella.
I can’t decide whether to leave alone, or add a sentiment, and maybe some gems?

I’m taking this to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown (mice)

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Embossing on black for 52cct

 Hello crafty friends

I had some old speciality card which is black with a coloured core,

that is specifically design to reveal itself when dry embossed, and /or sanded,

so I did both…..twice… so it’s a twofer…

A square version, the EF was a prize ages ago from pixiessnippetsplayground,
the sentiment an old Stampin’ Up! one that I heat embossed in gold.
The ribbon was from a gift from a kind friend….it helped make this layer into a square …
I always try to recycle what I can, do you?!

A standard size, this one used some more old stash…a fussy cut poinsettia from an old SU paper,
and sentiment that was from an old kit, which luckily hid the join,
where I added another piece of embossed card to make it a better fit!

Had to have some sparkle, so gold and red gems added to finish them off.

That’s another two for the box!

Do take inspiration from the 52 Christmas card throwdown, and have a good day.

52cct ink blending

Hello, just popping by with an extra mid week post to help you get ahead with your Christmas cards.

The 52 Christmas card throwdown challenge this week is ink blending.

I used a snowflake embossing folder winter snow from Stampin’ Up! for my backdrop,

which I then blended with blue ink, to highlight the detail.

I die cut the snow using never before used Greetery snowdrift, the swirl detail gives extra texture.

The scene was fussy cut from some retired paper and tucked behind the snow drift.

I’m entering….52cct challenge

and

Inkspirational challenge #292 (embossed background)

Can you handle the pressure (anything goes embossing folder)

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.
