Varied vases blooms

Simple Sunday…

Another much loved stamp set, Varied Vases….

I stamped the middle vase, then made masks for all three vases.
I kept the masks on to stamp the flowers.

I then stamped the shelf

Have a great day

Rudolph Day Yay

I’m so happy that Helen has taken up Rudolph’s reins, so that we can continue to be inspired to make our Christmas cards throughout the year.

The new site Rudolph Days Challenge is HERE

Maureen did a fabulous job of running this challenge for so long, for which we are all so grateful.

So here’s my card

This was meant to be a relatively quick and simple make 🙄

The technique challenge from 52 Christmas card Throwdown, which gave me this idea was….

I still had the Uniko stencil out, which I thought would give the effect without too much masking.

I’m trying to use up neglected stash and had some card blanks with a slight texture.🙄🙄

This did not help with the stamping, but I persevered, getting numerous stamp sets out to fit my sections.

Stamps now piled up on my desk from SU, Clarity, Cardio 🙄🙄🙄

I still had to mask off bits, and wipe ink off the stencil after stamping,

 to prevent it transferring.🙄🙄🙄🙄

My final challenge was getting a decent photo in this dim and dismal light! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

This was my first photo attempt, before trying numerous positions and lights.

Do visit these challenges for lots of inspiration and without the eye rolls 😂

Layering stencil

Hello again, I hope this finds you well.

I’ve managed to find time for a play with Enduring Beauty again (SU).
I’m sharing two cards today.

I’m loving layering stencils to colour in the stamped image,
it makes it quicker and easier……although I like colouring in too…..
but this gives a different look.
I’d also found some backgrounds I made ages ago, with glittery embossing paste.

I used some of the ink to add a bit of colour to the label.

This card uses peach, yellow and green, which fits the

For this one I used highland Heather and a pink, using the same pink for the stencilled background.

As I’ve used quite a few stencils, I’m taking this to the Just us Girls challenge#715

Have a peaceful Sunday

Cats and dogs

 I needed a quick card for a dog lover…

Similar idea to this one…..(8th October)…..

More cats, when I was making baubles….

This came about because of accidents….
I messed up inking the stencil, so added another,
and the sentiment hid a smudge too.
I quite liked it though, so maybe I should mess up more!

Polar Bears

We had a nice quiet Christmas, hope you had a good one?

My sisters plans were a bit scuppered!

One bro in law fell and dislocated his shoulder…….

it was touch and go whether they could go to the hotel they’d booked,

but happily they did, and are still having a nice time.

The other bro in law had pneumonia……Hospital is not what they’d planned on Christmas Day,

but again happily he was home that night, and is recovering well.

I thought I’d share my last Christmas cards pics for this year…..

I got a pack of this paper, and had fun fussy cutting and creating various designs…

Some of these designs were cased from Emma Goddard, do visit her blog Coastal Crafter.

I used some flocked vellum

Made one for a family of three..

Then dry embossed snowflake backgrounds for these…

I hope you and yours enjoyed the holidays

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow!……I’ll be visiting the Snippets Playground…

Cut a die in half

I’m back again, with another version of the Gorgeous Garden dies,

this is another tip I found to give your dies a different look.

I cut it into two pieces by following the design, to give me a section for my stamped sentiment.

You can also cut it to make borders, and even individual flowers to add extra decoration.

These dies made some super simple but elegant cards.
I hope you’ll have a look at your own dies, and come up with different ideas 😃

I’m entering the Allsorts Challenge Blog, that’s all about dies.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Gorgeous Garden flowers

As promised, here’s the floral die in the Gorgeous Garden set.

This time the background is a Designer Series Paper.

This is also my first tip…

It’s a full background die, but my cutting machine is getting very old, like me 😂
and it didn’t cut the whole piece properly.
Instead of discarding it, I added an oval die cut topper, which hides the flaw.

It gives your die a different look.
I also used the waste from another die cut for the white stamens,
another tip I found.

I added a few sentiments to finish.
Catch you later for my third version…..

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Gorgeous Garden leaves

There’s a die set in the annual SU catalogue that I overlooked until I saw someone use it.
There are two background dies, one with leaves and one with flowers.
The detail is as the name suggests, Gorgeous Garden.

Loved make the background on this, with Blending brushes.

With the offcuts I die cut some leaves that emboss detail at the same time.

Added my favourite tiny tag, and a twine bow

Come back tomorrow for the floral version and a couple of tips!

Meantime I’m popping over to NBUS , a place that encourages you to use your never before used stash,
as it’s the first time I’ve used this die set.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Goats on the horizon

Some cards really make me smile…..

a lovely neighbour likes watching the goats in the field opposite our houses

I used a background paper and lots of bits from On the Horizon

Fussy cut the goats……they often climb on top of their hut and ramps etc…
and obviously they ate the cake 😂

And he loved it….phew!

Tulips and nature

I was asked to make a card for a friend, something I rarely agree to,

as I can’t take the pressure 🥵,

but on this occasion I agreed….

The brief was 40th Birthday with a love of nature and tulips.

Out came a favourite Grove die, and New Horizons DSP,
along with some Gummiapan dies.
So the background is designer series paper…..
wouldn’t have had time to make my own and this paper is retired I think, but awesome.

Layered up different greens using a grass die, and two greens using the Grove die frame.
The deer are from the Grove dies, the pot, tulips, birds, hedgehog, snail and tufts of grass Gummiapan.
I used Blend pens to colour tulips and bits, and a bit of glitter glue for the snail trail…..😃

I hope you have a good weekend wherever you are
