Fall Thank you Card

My husband and I received a nice letter in the mail from his Uncle the other day so I wanted to thank him for all they had done. Here is a card I made to have the kids, my DH and I sign to send to him.
I used an EK Success punch for the leaves on the front. I used my hand embossing tool from Stamping up to put some lines on the leaves to look like the veins. Then I took Tim Holtz Burlap and Victorian velvet to distress them. All the paper for the card base is from the Victorian pack of paper from Joann's. The beige piece of mat was sprayed with Walnut Ink.
I cut the Thanks from Gypsy Wanderings at size 1.70 and ran the top part through my xyron upside down to get the Martha Stewart glitter to stick to it. Then ran it through the xyron again to stick to the shadow of the word. I used the very thin twine behind the Thanks on the card. I adhered it using Stampin' Up's demnsionals. After it was all put together I used Glossy Accents on the Thanks and let it dry to give it a more 3D look.
I lined the inside of the card with the same cardstock as the front however I didn't spray the Walnut Ink as dark so you could write all you wanted on the inside and be able to see it. I have a set of Fiskars Seasonal punches that I used to punch out the leaves for the inside of the card and adhered them to the card using the small glue dots. Those were distressed using the same inks as above.
I hope you like it.
I have something to post tomorrow that I am REALLY excited about, but I have some "homework" to do before I can post it :)

Happy Scrapping ya all!

Michael's & Joanns Haul!

Hello all my fellow craftaholics scrappers!
I wanted to share with you what I picked up at the craft stores today. I did really well at Joanns as they had 40% off of most of the items I bought PLUS they are having a 20% off sale (with coupon) that you can use for EVERYTHING you purchase! LOVE 60% off here people! I promised Deb of DD's Crafts that I would search hi and lo for the Paper Craft Magazine with the Unity Stamp on it and I FOUND IT tonight! Tried to point it out in pic #2 lol.

Create a Critter Croc

Hello everyone! It's finally Halloween! I can't wait to take my son out trick or treating and see all the fun ghouls and ghosts tonight! I wanted to do a challenge today for M.A.G Challenge #2. I LOVE that this is a challenge blog that gives you a page from a certain cartridge to work from each week! You should check them out!
I got a 1 lb pack of scraps at HL that had this fun looking brown leather like paper in it (Its the reason I got the pack) and I just knew that one day I would be using that paper! And I was right! The grass, croc outter layer, and yellow layer are all from that pack. Its Handmade paper from TPS. He is cut at 1.8  and the bird is cut at 1.5. I used paper from DCWV's Amber Autumn  for the mat (Which I distressed with TH's Aged Mahogany) and the bird (Which was distressed with TH's Wild Honey).
Card cut at 5 x 7 using Kraft card stock and the mat is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.
The sentiment is from Clearly defined Small Tag Lines. The clouds are cut on the Imagine at 3.7. And last but not least the grass is the MS grass border punch.
I used Stampin Up's deminsionals to put the Croc on and double layered the deminsionals to make the bird seem to be standing on the croc.

Hope you like it!

Count down to Karlee Day 1 Challenge!

So here is my submission for Robyn's (My Pink Stamper) The Count down to Karlee Day 1 Challenge.

I have never made a box before this and (don't tell Robyn) but I made it all by hand! No Cricut involved... I used my Martha Stewart Score board, and circle cutter. The stamp of course is one of Robyn's from her Buggy Punnies set. I actually just sat on the livingroom floor and made this while watching TV with the kids. The paper is from SEI, something I had totally forgotten I had. I wanted two sided paper for the box so I dug out all I had and this paper just stuck out like a sore thumb yelling "I'm perfect for you!!!". And yup... it was right :) The pictures honestly do NOT do the colors justice. But my daughter stole my good camera so these will have to do.

Happy Scrappin during the countdown!
