Look what I made! Linkin it up!

This box has been sitting on a shelf for sometime. I don't recall where I had gotten it but it was a jewelry box for the girls for about 2 years now. I had promised myself to refashion it into something else... I did take steps to actually write a "To-do" list for my creative endeavors and this was on the list.

Though, since writing the list I misplaced it and may have to start again, SIGH!

I was also inspired by several blogs to make nests under glass! So during our thrift store jaunts I found a cheese holder! Not a chip in the dome! I proudly took my new found item, along with many more interesting things to check out, while Terry is standing behind me asking me why I needed this or that? We don't eat that much cheese! Shaking his head and grinning, whatever makes Mama happy. Gosh I love that man!

Anyway! I also found a box of plastic eggs to refashion with old sheet music. I picked up some moss and plan to maybe have a new found ceramic figure peeking out from the eggs. I am not sure yet. But as always I keep saying I will place these on etsy. Eventually.

I guess I'm afraid I won't sell anything. I do eBay and go through some good weeks and bad weeks. I guess I need to put on my Big Girl panties and just try it!

Happy Saturday!

Repurposed crayons and outgrown overall's!

I hate throwing out stuff and if I can recycle, upcycle, repurpose, etc... These crayons have been staring me in the face for a few months, I have seen crayon projects of melting and putting in a muffin tin for awhile and I wanted something different of course now my juices are flowing and I intend to do alot more of these in a variety of shapes.
I was trying to find a empty can to do my melting in and Terry suggested using foil. I tried this for this project but do not recommend doing so in the future! Use a empty can, double boiler method if trying this! Also leave the widow open as this does get the house stinky!

I made bags out of the baby's outgrown overall's! I was debating whether to cut off the pants and in the end I kept them! On this pair I simply sewed the legs together. Careful of the snaps. I lost one needle on my machine due to the snap. GRRRFACE!
On this pair I actually found some cute smiley fabric and sewed it to the opening between the legs! This came out adorable! Love them!
A different view. I had fun making these but at the same time I was a tad sad due to my little guy getting so dang big and so fast!

My favorite Mod Podge cabinet!

I love this cabinet! I used bits of brown kraft paper, handmade paper, bits of wall paper samples, old skeleton keys and old vintage photos!

I love old pictures! I enjoy using them in many of my projects. If you look close enough sometimes they can tell you a great story about the person. Of course way back most times the subject was without any smile or emotion. I have to wonder what is going on in their head at that time.
One of my favorite things to do when I am at antique shops or thrift stores is to dig through the pics! I wander if anyone will use my mug in they're craft projects eons from now?
