Washi tape embellishments

Hello Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today  I am sharing a layout with 4 different washi tapes that I used in three ways.

I am working on the pictures from our recent trip to Toledo Zoo and I was glad to find a roll of fish washi tape in my collection - perfect for the aquarium pictures! I used it as a border and a design element.

I used two different rolls of green chevron washi tape to accent the pictures (tape one and tape two)

I covered a piece of cardstock with camera washi tape and cut the cameras out to use as embellishments.

Check the Love My Tapes etsy store, you will sure find fun washi tapes for any layout.

From blah to wow with fabric tapes

Hello, Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am going to show you how I took a simple cardboard box from blah to wow using a set of beautiful fabric tapes.

I used a 5x7 cardboard box that comes with my monthly cosmetic samples subscription. I love this size and use the empty boxes to store all kind of things.

I used the fabric tape value pack - it comes with three tapes in coordinating colors. I covered the box top with rows of tape and run another row along the edge to cover the edges of the tape.

Now my box is not only practical but also cute.
Check a great selection of fabric tape value packs in the store. You will want to get one of each!

Teacher thank you card

Hello Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am going to share a quick teacher thank you card.

I started by covering the card base with few rows of black washi tapes. I used Chalkboard Numbers, Black Floral and Black Grid.

I added two pieces of patterned paper - the bottom is 3.5"x3.25" and the top is 3.25"x3" including the punched edge.

I added an apple and "thank you" sentiment that I cut with Silhouette Cameo from vinyl but any store bought embellishment will work great here.

By changing the colors of  the patterned paper I made a sweet set of matching cards - ready to be given to the teachers,

When I make card sets I like to keep the design the same and change just one element. Another option would be to change the colors of the washi tape.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Washi tape as patterned paper

Hello Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am sharing a card I made using washi tapes as patterned paper.

I added two rows of  rose floral washi tape and vintage wide tape  between them.

I cut the flowers from white carstock and misted them with Glimmer Mist in Valentine Pink and Mr. Hueye's in Mary Mary.

I cut the leaves from a small piece of rose floral tape adhered to white cardstock.

Pretty card with minimal supplies. Thank you for stopping by today! You can find the tapes I used and many more in Love My Tapes etsy store!

Layout with washi tape frame

Hello Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am sharing a layout where I used washi tape to draw attention to my focus photo by framing it with washi tape.

Few months ago my family attended a bingo night at our elementary school. It was out first bingo night and I wanted to add this moment to our family scrapbook. I saved few bingo cards and printed three pictures that I snapped with my phone.

The pictures are far from being great but they still tell a story. I wrapped the edges of my focus picture with red chevron washi tape and raised it with foam dots.

I used grey chevron, chalkboard numbers and more red chevron washi tapes to direct the flow and to make a spot for my title.

Check out Etsy store to see the tapes that I used and many others. I am sure your will find just the right tape for your next project.

Floral card with wide washi tape

Hello, Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am sharing a card that I made with wide washi tape.

Most washi tapes that you see on the market come in standard size that is 5/8" wide. There are some that are thinner and some wider.

Love My Tapes has an awesome selection of beautiful wide washi tape, like this one.

It is 1 3/16" wide and can be treated as a miniature patterned paper.

I layered few pieces of washi tape on top of a vellum sheet and cut out the flowers. I than layered them on top of each other using foam tape to create a flower bouquet.

The tape already had the word "flowers", I added the letter stickers to complete the sentiment, pink stickles and few jewels.

Thank you for stopping by today! Happy crafting!

Mini card set with washi tape

Hello Love My Tapes friends!

This is Maya and today I am going to share a simple mini card set using minimal supplies.

I started by making 2.5"x4" card fronts. I used Print and Cut feature of my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut out the card front panels.

I added few rows of black washi tape in different patterns and finished with handmade book print flower.

I used foam tape to add the card front to the mini card that is just a regular A2 card cut in half.

I had a great time picking different colors of washi tape and matching it with different color of flowers. I used various types of mists for the flowers.

These cards look fabulous on their own and together as set. It could be a great gift for somebody special.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to make some sweet mini cards. Here is what I used.

Music notes card

Hello, Love My Tapes friends!

This is Maya and today I am going to share a card made with my favorite technique - scraplifting yourself. :-)

One of my most favorite cards I made with is this one, using piano keys washi tape. Sadly that tape is not available any more, but I was very excited to find a musical notes tape in my Design Team package. I decided to make a similar version of the card. I picked two more rolls of washi tape in similar colors - vintage air mail and vintage back and cream tape.

I layered 4 rows of tape (I used two rows of the vintage air mail) and added flowers, pearls and bling from my stash. I used black and white grid washi tape to make the leaves by folding the tape and cutting out the leaf shape with the scissors.

I added a sentiment cut with Silhouette Cameo from black vinyl.

Thank you for stopping by today! Hope I inspired you to take your favorite project from the past and make it new with new products,

Class Valentines with washi tape

Hello, Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am sharing class Valentines that I made with my 6 years old.

We decided to make melted crayon hearts. I did them before with my older kids and they are so much fun. There are tons of instructions all over the internet so I will not be sharing them. I will show how we packaged them using Love My Tapes washi tape.

We started by peeling the crayons and melting them in the oven.

When the hearts were ready we attached them to a piece of cardstock with a thick glue dot and I let my first grader write his "tos" and "froms" on a piece of washi tape with a sharpie. Not only did it look pretty but if an occasional mistake was made, it was easy to peel off the washi tape and fix the mistake.

I put the hearts inside little bags and closed them with bag toppers that I designed in Silhouette software.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Love card

Hello Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I an sharing a little love with you, We are exactly two weeks away from Valentine Day, time to take out all our pinks and reds and have some fun.

I started with Heidi Swapp watercolor tag that I painted with Faber Castell gelatos in 4 shades of red and pink. I covered the heart with Faber Castell glaze to give it a glossy finish. I covered a piece of small white cardsock with Love My Tapes red chevron tape and added it under the LOVE letters,

I wrapped a piece of twine around the heart and adhered it to the card using a foam tape. The card base is made by misting white cardstock with Mt. Huey's mist in Mary Mary.

I added few doodles with a thin black sharpie for more contrast,

Love My Tapes etsy store has a gorgeous selection of Valentine wahsi tapes. Check them out!

One big photo + washi tape stripes

Hello Love My Tapes friends! This is Maya and today I am sharing a layout with 4 different washi tapes.

I was looking at the picture of my little boy and realized that I have just the perfect washi tapes to match the color of his shirt. (And we all know that this is exactly that type of things that make us, scrapbookers, happy!)

I printed the picture in 5x7 leaving a lot of white space on the side and added three strips of washi tape in blue and green colors. I used the green stars tape and another one with blue and green geometric patterns.

To tie them together even more I went over the stars on the green tape with blue sharpie.

I also used several strips of grey and light green chevron tapes to make a background for the banner accents.

And now I have some great news to share! Love My Tapes has an etsy shop! There you can find the tapes I used on my layout and many many more including fabulous lace and fabric tapes and adhesive!

If you spend $25 in January the shipping is free with code janweb.

Thank you for stopping by today! Now if you will excuse me, I have some shopping to do!

Weaving with fabric tapes

Hello Love My Tapes fans! This is Maya and today I am going to share a layout I made to celebrate my first attempt at basket weaving.

I decided to use fabric tape to echo the basket and make a fun interlaced mat for my pictures.

I used lined and flower fabric tapes. First I placed the horizontal pieces and than I weaved the vertical pieces in between. The adhesive on the back of the tape is strong enough to hold everything in place but at the same time gentle enough to allow lifting of the tape and putting it back.

I added few chipboard letters from my stash and a journaling card from Project Life kit.

I love how the fabric tapes give a rustic look to my layout. It matches the theme perfectly.
