MOJO110 and ColorQ4

Good evening!!!!

Finally I finished my card for this 2 challenges - though I have to admit that I'm not too excited about it. Something is missing .....

The colors Arielle chose for her color challenge this week are just beautiful. But without any fall stamps .. well, I haven't had a lot of ideas. So I pulled out this gorgeous stamp set from SU and colored it up with markers. That is so easy and I like the effect. Everything else is self-explaining ... :-)

I'm on the go again - like I said ... crazy week here. Tomorrow we will go to a pumpkin atch with the boy's preschool to pick some pumpkins and carve them later on. Hope to show you some pics of Jack-O-Lantern next week. And we had the first "case" of swine-flu in preschool ... Please keep your fingers crossed for us!!!!!!
Short note for Arielle: I haven't forgotten you - will call you tomorrow night! I promise ***hugs****

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and for those who are dealing with the weather please stay safe and warm!
Hugs Tanja

Butterfly Serentipidy

Hi there!

This will be a super-quick post as if I'm nearly running out of the door (crazy week here ).
After all this girly cards I made in the past days I was so glad to find the CAS challenge today (clean and simple cards). It want you to make a simple card with brads or eyelets. I haven't used eyelets in decades so I gave it a try. And while I was playing with this sweet butterfly stamp from SU I try to stamp of the ink and I really like how "this try" turned out. Kinda looks like the butterfly is flying away .... well ...

Thanks for visiting me today! Take care
Hugs Tanja

I know, this is my second post for today and you are surprised, right? Me too. But I have a minute to post ....... :-)

This is my card for The Sweet Stop Saturday challenge #27. I modified it a little bit.... But I think it is still okay.

Viva la Verve and The Pink Elephant

Moin! (surprised? - that means "hi" in the northern german slang ;-))

I'm back with my entry for Viva la Verve OCT4. And it even fits for the Pink Elephant challenge ... *grin*
I couldn't get enough of this paper from SU - just LOVE it. And the digital images Julee gave away prior to the last release party are just stunning! So I combined both and voilà!

For the TPE challenge I used black brads to cover the black and the hardware and I distressed all edges with my distressing tool. It's kind of hard to see in the picture but it is done, seriously!

Have a wonderful rest of the day

tired of doing laundry?

Good morning!

How are you doing today?
About two weeks ago I received my order from The Greeting Farm. I love their Hope and Grace line and when I saw this lady sitting in the middle of all the laundry I fell in love. Maybe because she reminds me of myself sometimes ... ;-) I colored her with SU markers on watercolor paper but this time I'm not quite sastisfied with the result. Because of the cool DP from Basic Grey you don't see too much of my coloring "mistakes", right?

This was my entry for Viva la Verve OCT3 and the twist was to use fabric. Well, I cut a circle from an old "pirate costume" from the boys and adhered it underneath laundry -hope/ grace. I think this old costume made my card ;-). What do you think?

Thak you for popping in today.
hugs Tanja

Another Tilda card

Good morning ladies,

I hope, you all had a terrific weekend? The weather here in AL was wonderful fall-ish. Cold and crisp air - we missed it since April :-).

I have another Magnolia to show you today. I'm not sure when I got this little angel but this weekend was the frist time I inked her up (wow, I said that pretty often lately...). I wanted to participate in the Peachy Keen challenge and for this I had to use brown and pink, some ribbon ... and I cannot remember the other thing .... Coloring her was easy - with my watercolor pencils, Aquapainter and some ink pads. But everyting else didn't want to come together.

My intention was to let her sit in the middle of this huge flower and "fishing" for some love - but I think she is more an angel in heaven sending some love to her loved ones on earth. And before it makes me more teary I decided to send it to a wonderful friend I found over at SCS - her mother passed away last year and with the holidays coming up maybe this card will let her think about her mother sitting in heaven and sending bunches of love while watching over her.
Darn, we are getting sentimental here, huh?

Thank you for stopping by today - I wish you all a wonderful Monday and a short week!
Take care my friends and give your loved ones a special hug today
Hugs to you Tanja

Fall Tilda

Hi chickas,

I have a fall-ish card to share with you today. I wanted to participate in the challenge at KLStampinNscrappin - this week you should make a card with fall colors. I love them! - I jsut figured out I was not supposed to use white (ooops!) but if you have a closer look to the picture it is not really a white - I sponged it and it looks nearly yellow-ish, doesn't it ;-) ? - Okay, I messed it up because I couldn't remember the twist when I created , sorry Kelly!!!!

A couple days ago I received the "Indian Summer" from Basic Grey and fell and love with this vibrant and cozy color (can something be vibrant and cozy???? hm, ... but anyway!)

I grapped this Tilda and my Indian Summer and started working. This time I tried the watercoloring with pencils and Aquapainter - technique again and I think I really like it the most. Like I said - I'm still trying to find the best working method for me :-)

Today we start with our first invitaion for a Halloween party - this will continue until the end of the week - I guess by Sunday I don't wanna hear the word "Halloween" anymore ....

I wish y'all a wonderful weekend - take care
Hugs Tanja

Stamp-A-Thon

note: this is my seond post for today (I'm on a roll :-)) - please make sure to scroll down to today's first post

Hi there,

a couple days ago I saw that Verve is having a release party challenge and you can win lots of prizes ... Usually I'm not a lucky duck if it comes to winning a prize (hey, I got my DH and two boys ;-)). But nevertheless I wanted to give it a try because I really like the sketches Julee came up with -> see them here.

And it was the first time that I used a digi stamp - I LOVE it!!!! Well, I think it is not really stamping anymore but it looks nice, huh?

Wow, isn't that paper pretty? I didn't want to cover it up too much.

And this specialty paper from SU is gorgeous. How can ne be sooo interested in paper???? I just ADORE it ***grin***

Another yummy paper from KI by Taylored Expression

This is the only image I actually STAMPED. And unfortunately it is the only stamp set from Verve I own - but maybe I will win the whole release .... dreaming .... :-)

This paper was part of the Key Ingredients set from Taylored Expression for October. I HAD to use it for this digi image. Doesn't it just matches .... So cool!

Thank you for letting me share my enthusiasm with you - I think I'm just glad that I made it in time ;-)

Have a great day and take care
Hugs Tanja

I love you ....

Hello,

how are you doing today?
A couple days ago I received my Key Ingredients set from Taylored Expression for October ... I thought I liked the one from September ... But October's KI are stunning!!! The DP is out of this world and last month was the first time I used Prism paper and I had a blast. So, when I got this kits (I ordered the christmas one too :-)) I had to use it right away. And with the challenge over at Taylor's blog I made this card for one of my little boys - he is sick with bronchitis and is pretty grumpy because he has to stay calm and quiet!!!

This earth paper from Cosmo Cricket (???) is awesome. And I absolutly adore this - I think it is artichoke paper from Prism. I kept the card simple without too much embellies - Mathis (my 4 years old boy - he always gives me the best critics ;-)) doesn't like to much on it.

Thank you for visiting me today - have a wonderful day
Hugs Tanja

ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
paper: all from Key Ingredients Set October 09 - Taylored Expression
others: scalloped circle nesties, Big Shot, watercolor pencils from Faber Castell and blender pen SU, stardust and red stickles, dotted organza ribbon, scallop border punch SU,

Where am I from?????

Hi there!

My friend Kelly aka MiamiKel4 is hosting a kind of a heritage-swap over at SCS and I had a hard time deciding what to do. As you know I'm a german girl - born and raised there - but in my heart .... well!
And since I really don't own any stamp that goes with this theme I decided to stuck with the german national flag colors (black, red and gold/yellow) and create a birthday card with it .... I know, not the most fancy idea ever but hey... at least an idea ;-)

And I created my own background with the Damask Design set from Papertrey Ink. While creating I thought about applying for a national card creator job in Germany because I thought this card looks so formal . Okay, just kidding!

That should be all for today - my little own is sick with bronchitis and I'm busy keeping him calm and quiet (well, I try my best ;-))
Thank you for stopping by and thank you to everybody who left a comment on this blog. I so appreciate ever single one of them.

Have a wonderful day and take care
Hugs Tanja

The scallop circle just look like some ice scoops or cookies, don't you think? Well, if you are on a diet you may see some weird things ... (***grin***).

I'm back from vacation!!!!!

Hello ladies,

I'm back from a lifetime-vacation! We spent some days in Disney World, Olando, FL and Seaworld. It was awesome and I will post pictures here as soon as they are "prepared" ....

At first I had to send a huge "Thank you" to my friend Arielle - I was crowned by her as a colorQueen for participating in her first color challenge, woohoo, how cool is that? Hop over and check out her challenge - it is so inspiring!

For today I have 3 cards to share with you.
The first is made of a card-kit I got from my card-kit-swap-SS and I had to play with it immediately.
So, I just put together everything I got from her in the kit. What do you think?

The second and third card are made for two challenges: MOJO Monday and colorQ. I had somebody in mind who needs some uplifting "thoughts" and I love the sketch Julee from Verve had prepared and the color my friend Arielle chose for this weeks color challenge - so fall-ish!! The stamp is from Our Daily Bread Design and everything else is SU.
Kelly, one of those cards are going out to your friend ***waving***, a little late but it comes from the heart ....
Thank you for stopping by today and I will be back with picture next time!!!!

Take care
Hugs Tanja

P.S. sorry for the blurry pics - but we had not enough sunlight so I had to take 'em inside ... bleh ...

Dreaming Cutie

Hi there,

last night I went crazy .... Well, my sewing machine broke down a couple weeks ago and I haven't found another yet. So, when I saw the challenge at "Viva la Verve" (sketch challenge with the twist "shabby chic") I wanted to create a card that has sewing on it. Due to the fact of my broken machine I went ahead and sewed by hand - oh my, it took me the whole evening! But I like it. And it made my paper even more shabbier ;-)

To give all the items a more used look I sponged nearly everything with distress ink - even the ribbon. Unfortunately the pictures doesn't show it very well.

Thank you for visiting me today - have a wonderful Tuesday

Hugs Tanja

A new challenge in town!!!!

Hello everybody!

How are you doing today? Have you heard about the new color challenge in town? If not go and check out Arielle's blog! She is starting a color challenge every week and this one is her first:

You have to combine melon mambo, pretty in pink, old olive and basic gray!
And this is what I came up with:

I colored the stamp from "Pocket Silhouettes" with SU markers and stamped it on whisper white cs. The dew drop are Robin's Nest everything else is SU - oh wait, I used inverted scallops Nesties from Spellbinder :-)

And the sketch I used for this card is MOJO Monday .... love it!!!!

Thank you for stopping by today - take care

I'm in love ...

Hi there,

yes, I'M IN LOVE! Last month I ordered the Key Ingredients from Taylored Expression plus one of the new stamp sets "Oh the places you'll go". ANd yesterday I tried it all for the first time and couldn't stop!!! The colors are fantastic, the ribbon matches so perfectly the buttons ar precious and last but not least the stamps ..... Holy Smoke!!!! Just fantastic!!!!!

I have to admit that I didn't like Dr. Seuss... I know, you are shocked, right? Please keep in mind I was born and raised in Germany and have never ever heard of this guy before. But all the times when I heard about Dr. Seuss or my kids read a book in preschool I couldn't help but always asked myself "What the heck have ham and green eggs in common (what are green eggs?)" or "Why should a cat wear a hat like this" .
... Yes, let's say I had no idea, okay? Here is the story:

I found a sneak peek to this stamp set on Lauri Schmidlin's blog and checked it out. During my browse through the web -inspired by this set and because I was just curious about the Dr. Seuss' books- I found the most wonderful book for kids "Oh the places you'll go".
Next day Barnes & Noble! I grabbed this book and flipped through the pages and couldn't help but tears ran down my face. The text fits so perfectly for my two little boys ... The lady from customer service walked by with Kleenex, patted my back and said "It's okay, honey. That's why everybody loves Dr. Seuss!" Like I do now .... ;-)

And when I saw the challenge at the TE blog yesterday I had to pull out my new toys and give it a try. All supplies I used where part of the Key Ingredients from last month (I just added kraft cs from SU and stamped on Neenah white ultra smooth - great paper)

Thank you for listening/ reading - every time I think of this story I'm getting sentimental :-)

Hugs Tanja

You are my sunshine ....

Good morning,

this will be just a short post as I'm on my way out of the door ...

I wanted to use up some scrap paper that I am hording and hording and .... well, this DP sat on my desk after my little ones decided to grap some of Mommy's paper for cutting and other creating purposes ......... Huh, that's another story! But I wanted to use it with this bright and funny sun from Peachy Keens. Believe it or not - every item on this card is "scrap" and I love when it comes together and I can even use a nice sketch for it - like this MOJO Monday one- !

And due to the length of the cardstock I made a 4 1/4x 4 1/4''. Has anybody an idea where I could find a template for a selfmade envie for this size????? Help would very much appreciated :-)

Have a wonderful day
Hugs Tanja

ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
paper: baja breeze, pretty in pink, canson watercolor paper, retired SU DP - don't know which one

Sassy'n Sweet

It's me again!!!!

Okay, I know you can't believe it but this is my second post for today - so make sure to scroll down all the way :-).

When I saw this week's challenge over at OCC I knew right away I had to give it a try. And while I already created my card with lots of red and white in my mind I found exactly the same as a DT sample ..... hm, so I went out of my comfort zone and played with those colors!

Since I saw the Cottage Wall DP from SU's current catalog I'm in love with this colors.
I know that this young lady isn't colored well but I'm still trying to find a sort of coloring that works best for me. I got this wonderful image (and a whole bunch more) from my dear friend Kadie and I didn't know what paper is was. But I have to say it is awesome for blending SU markers on it! Thank you Kadie - I love them!!!!

Take care and see you soon!!!!
Hugs Tanja

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge

Good morning!

I'm back with two (!!) cards for Dawn McVey's color challenge. She wants the participants to use aqua, kraft, red, chocolate and cream. Boy, the red gave me a hard time but finally I decided to put it together like this!

And once I started with this combo I wanted to try another stamp set from Dawn that hasn't seen ink before. So I created this card with the "Damask Design" ... LOVE this set!
I'm not quite satisfied with the result - everytime I finish a card I got ideas what else I could have done or added. That drives me crazy! But anyways ...

I really like the bright color from the aqua (well, tempting turquoise). If you have time please play - there are so many nice people in this challenge and you can make lots of new friends :-)

Have a wonderful day and thank you for popping in ***waving****
