For this card I thought of doing something very creative and made a "paper-fighter" as my son would call it. But mommy isn't as good in paper fighter creating than daddy so you all have to live with my "strange" plane ;-)

High Hope challenge bookmark

Hi there,

High Hope's challenge for this week is to create a bookmark. I love bookmarks and I'm always in a need of them because I have the tendency to read a couple book at a time ...

But today I made a bookmark for my oldest son. He is nearly 5 years old and wants to learn how to read (he really wants to - with all his little heart). So, at least I made him this little gift that goes along with a book I bought the other day for the 2 boys.

I have no clue what company the DP is from because I used one of my card kits I got several swaps ago.... I just added the rhinestone stickers and the kraft background. Coloring was done with Copics.

Thank you for peeking in today - I hope you have a fantastic day

CPS and Waltzingmouse

PLEASE NOTE: this is my 2. post for today - please scroll down for today's first card!

Hi there,

I wanted to play with my first Waltzingmouse stamp set since I got it a couple weeks ago and I just found the perfect sketch on Sunday at CardPositioningSystem.

I sponged the piece on aqua mist paper with broken china distress ink, the "sand" was made by a scrap of kraft cs ditressed with antique linen distress ink.
The sentiment was ... well.... a serendipity. I first stamped it in white ink and figured out that it wasn't really visible so I went back and stamped it a second time in night of navy but without using a stamp positioner. And by eyeballing it I created a kind of a shadow effect with the white ... like it :)

Take care, my friends
Hugs Tanja

Hello and welcome to the monthly PapertreyInk blog hop!!!

This month let's focus on tissue paper! It has become one of the hottest trends in the paper crafting
world and we want to see you take it on! Whether it is die-cutting it to make beautiful layered blooms,
the faux silk technique, creating layered backgrounds or even delicate stitched pleated borders, we want
to see you get creative! And don't forget, your new stamps arrive lovingly wrapped in tissue paper each
month, so these can prove to be "free & green" projects as well! Have fun and we look forward to
seeing all of your projects!

And this is my take! I used the tissue paper that came with my last order and stamped my brandnew argyle stamps from "A little Argyle" on it. Then I glued the tissue onto PTI white cardstock, used one of the chairs from Lisa Johnson's new "Chair-ished" set and stamped it over the pattern and cut them out.

I then took a polka dot II stamp, inked it up with soft sky, stamped it on scrap paper and stamped it again on my white cardbase. That gave just a hint of the polka dots as a background.. like a soft rug or just a floor ... (unfortunately it is nearly invisible on the photo :( )
The chairs were stamped on the polka dots and I then adhered the argyle seats onto them. I finished the card with a black stripe from "Distressed Stripes", a red twine, Aqua Mist button and a sentiment from "On my couch" stamped in real red on an aqua mist distressed stripe.

Can you say "I love clean and simple"? ;-)

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Thank you, Ms Lorie

Hi there,

for today's card... well, let's say it just matches many things!

Ms Lorie is one of my oldest boy's teacher and when I first saw her I wasn't too excited about her (which is the nicer version of what I really thought). But when I got to know her better during the last year I figured out how wrong I've been. She is the sweetest person ever. She takes great care of all her preschoolers and even of the moms. And whenever I had a question or needed some support (concerning bi-lingual..., where to get those songs, any idea where to find good kids books for bringing to Germany, ...) she was there to help immediately. I'm so thankful to have her as Mathis' teacher. That was my first thought when I saw Taylor's new stamp set that has been released in April...... *sigh*

The second thing is: Verve is having another huge release party- BEACH PARTY!!!! And to celebrate this Julee provided 5 challenges to win a bunch of goodies. And you all know how much I love winning goodies, right? So I took one of her sketches and my April Key Ingredients set from Taylored Expressions and went to work.

Love the DP, the colors, the ribbon ... and oh, yes! Every single stitch I made with the sewing machine was preplanned :-)) (that is the reason why I do not do quilting :::rolleyes:::)

Thank you for stopping by today - I wish you a wonderful rest of the week and hope to see you soon!
Hugs Tanja

Hi there,

welcome to this week's colorQ challenge. Arielle chose another great inspiration picture and this is my take.
Since I started using my Circle Circus from SU I fell in love with it and for this color combo I pulled it out again. And I finally inked up one of the stamps from "Frames wit a Flourish" that is sitting in my drawer for .... well, for quite a while.

I LOVE clean and simple styles and I think the white space always looks so relaxing .... yes, I think I need a little bit of sleep and a day off and I'm back to my old self ;-)

Hope you play along with us!
Hugs Tanja

MTSC68 - Hey Dude

Hi there,

another short post today - kids are sleeping now but don't feel very good - a stomach bug is making his round, I think .....

I played with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch and had to ink up Ethan from StampingBella right away. I colored him with my watercolor pencils and cut him out with Nesties and matted him. All the DP was in one of last year's Key Ingredients from Taylored Expression - Love that paper! Buttons are PTI and cardbase is rustic white.

Gotta hurry, someone's crying again...

Hugs Tanja

Hi there,

You may already know that I love to play with the Viva la Verve challenge over at SCS. And this month the inspiration for the challenges comes from living room. I wish I had one of these living rooms myself ....

Amber had a bunch of great pictures from living rooms and I chose this one to get inspired for my card. I just couldn't make the warm brown tone of the table go with my color combo :-(

Here is a close-up view of my 3-D flower and the pleaded ribbon. LOVE this technique. I saw that on one of the blogs I visited today but unfortunately I cannot remember who posted this great tutorial ... so sorry!

Have a wonderful day

colorQ #27

Hi there,

it is time for another colorQ challenge and Arielle has chosen beautiful boy-colors. Hurry over and check it out!

For my card I used this little bear from Whipper Snapper for the first time ... shame on me .... he is soooo cute. And do you see the polka dots in the background? They are made with my new embossing plate from PTI that I had inked up with tempting turqoise and then embossed with PTI white cardstock. So cool.
So, what do you think about the rick rack? I used my rick rack die from PTI (can you say I'm hooked???). It cuts through the thick cs like butter ... *happy sigh* Just awesome toys, right?

Ready for more inspiration? Then hop over and check out the other DT member's blog. This ladies are so talented. Links are in my right sidebar...

Wishing you all a fantastic day and take care
