Christmas presents

Hello Everyone,

Now you are probably wondering what on earth is this woman going on about christmas presents for when its only the beginning of January?   Well I'm actually going to show you some christmas presents that I made this year for some members of my family.

The first one I made was for my eldest daughter Nicola and her partner Lee.   Here it is.....

As you can see it is of gorgeous baby Leo.   I've used a box frame and painted it white with Gesso (none SU) and them stamped on the frame in Basic Black and Real Red ink.   The swirly pattern is from a stamp in the Creative Elements set and the flowers are from the ever popular Greenhouse Garden.  To decorate inside the frame I've used the Flower Daisies and Fun Flowers Die and the Medium Sizzlits dies for the letters.  The capital letters of his name have been mounted using the 2 different size Tag punches.  The embellishments used are the adhesive Pearls and a couple of clips from the clip assortments, buttons and antique brads.

Now below is another present only this time it was for my youngest daughter Kirsty and her partner Alex.  Unfortunately I didn't take a picutre when it was completed this is the "designing" stage but you will get the jist of what I did as its very similar to Nicolas.

This picture was taken of them when they were in Paris last year.   The difference between the two frames were that I only put the swirly pattern on Kirstys and I've used the Heart to Heart punch and letters from the chipboard Alphabet Soup selection to embelish it.  I've also used buttons, antique brads and filigree brads in the centre of the flowers.

These were given after all the other presents had been opened when we were at mum's on Christmas day and both girls loved them, in fact Nicola got very emotional :)

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my projects this time.  Please leave a comment as I love to read them.

Something different

Sunday was not only fathers day but my sister in laws birthday and I wanted to try something new and I came across a technique called black magic on U Tube.  No not the chocolates or witch craft but a stamping technique.

This technique allows you to put colour onto black card by using whisper white craft ink.  You will need to stamp a fairly solid image, I've used Greenhouse Garden, and once the ink has dried you colour it in.  On the video I saw the demo was using watercolurs but, as I don't have these yet, I used chalks on mine and I think the effect was just as good.

As Greenhouse Garden is a two step stamp set I stamped the second image in whisper white over the coloured image which I think is very effective.  The background foliage is from Vintage Vogue and I've used DSP Love Letter.

My sister in law loved it so I was very pleased with my efforts.  Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and please leave a comment as I love to read them.

Lovely day

Hi  All,

We've just got back from a drive to the coast to see hubbys sister and it was a lovely day out.   We set off at 7.45 and got there about 9.35 so didn't do too bad time wise.  It was great to see her as its been a long time, you know how it is a week becomes a month etc and before you know it a year has gone by.  Then we went into town and had the obligatory fish and chips..yumyum.  It was so windy on the sea front that its a good job none of us were wearing wigs...haha.

Anyway, remember at my class yesterday I said I joined in but made the set in a different colour, well here it is....

For this set the colour combo that I used was Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, River Rock and Very Vanilla along with the Springtime Vintage papers.  Obviously the Big Shot was used on both sets as well as the seam binding ribbon.  Not sure which set I prefer but I think this one is edging in the front slightly !!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my projects

Class Projects

Hello everyone,

What a rollercoaster of a week its been for me.  I've had some good news and some bad but don't you think that you only remember the bad?  Well I'm not going to let it get me down and so I held my monthly class today and had a blast, as always.  My dippy sister forgot but, after a quick phone call she arrived in time...lol

Today we focused on the Four Frames set and matching punch.  This is such a lovely set to work with.   I actually got chance to craft with them today so I did the same projects but in a different colour and its amazing how different they look

This is the original set that my ladies did:

The colour combination is Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Springtime Vintage papers.  I'll post the other colour combo when I've taken a picture.

Enjoy the Bank holiday everyone, we're off to the coast tomorrow to see hubby's sister who is very poorly and then on Monday I am prepping for a interview on Tuesday, stomach's churning just thinking about it.  Still I  can only do my best.

Hugs

Hanging photo frame

Well its been a very busy time since I last posted.  Saturday was a day to get all the odd jobs done around the house, doing a bit of shopping, washing etc,  The usual boring day to day stuff...lol.   Then on Sunday I was helping Victoria at one of her papercraft sales doing the make and takes.  I met a lot of lovely ladies and I hope they enjoyed doing the projects as much as I did.

I have been making some projects to demonstrate the versitality of SU products and for this one I've concentrated on using the wonderful BIG SHOT.   I have concentrated on using the big note die to make a hanging photo frame.

This is my garden and shows hubby last year laying a patio outside the front of our conservatory and then at the side and the snow in Jan/Feb this year.  Before he did the  patio all that was in the front of the patio doors were 12 slabs so a major improvement I think and it always amazes me how different the garden looks covered in snow.

I have used lots of SU products and they consist of:
Top Note Die, Embossing folders, boarder punches, very vanilla and marina mist card stock and ribbon, greenhouse garden stamp set, rhinestones, springtime vintage dsp, itty bitty bits stamp set and buttons, various punches and alphabet stamps.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my project and thank you for stopping by.

Greenhouse Garden

Hello again,

What a busy day I've had. Just the boring stuff really that you don't do in the week as you're at work. I often wonder where all the bloomin dust comes from...lol Tonight we have Nikki and Lee coming for tea and then again lunch tomorrow - a proper family weekend. Her bump is getting bigger now, I just hope the little one likes chilli and garlic bread...lol

Well I said I would be back with another creation that I did for my sisters 50th last weekend, well here it is. This one was mum's card as she liked the quirkyness of it. Its call a venetian card and I can't remember where I got the idea from but it wasn't mine so apologise to the lady who designed it first.

Obviously the paperclip isn't part of the card but I needed something to keep it open long enough to take the picture. I had fun making it and hope you like it too.

Materials were all SU except the die cut numbers and letters.

Christmas cards - as you will see I did 10 each of the church scenes and 5 each of the Dasher colours.

SU products were: Stamps sets - Silent Night and Dasher, Brayer,
Inks - Always Artichoke, Not Quite Navy, Basic Black and versemark.
CS Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Basic Black, Groom speciality papers, Always Artichoke and Not Quite Navy.

Bag for convention:

To decorate the bag I used items from the following kits: hodgepodge kit, pretties kit, rich razzleberry ribbon and vintage vogue stamp set. I adhered the items on with tombow glue.

Finally my nieces card.

I have stamped serveral little flowers in various SU inks using the greenhouse garden set to make the number 16, the patterned paper is from Tea Party, cs used is pink passion, rose red and whisper white and melon mambo ribbon. The sentiment was printed onto whisper white cardstock.

With this card I an joining in the following challanges:

Phew, I hope the worst is over. Got rushed into hospital last week and ended up having surgery on Thursday. Hopefully I'm on the road to recovery now, fingers crossed. Needless to say I haven't done much crafting lately, I'm just glad I got the wedding card done early, but here are a few of the cards I have managed to make.
