For this challenge I have decoupaged a mdf tissue box.

I have used gorgeous Prima royal menagerie PPs.

 Top view

After cutting PPs in appropriate size I distressed their edges with Shaded lilac and seedless preserves DIs. Thereafter, decoupaged them to box using matte mod podge (part of my DT kit). Added some color using stencil and distress ink and texture using modelling paste. Embellished using flowers, pearls, crochet lace, stone lace, charms, resin frame, glitter and washi tapes.

Some more pics

The flowers are handmade using heartfelt creations arianna blooms stamp and die set. For making leaves I have used washi tape on paper and then used it to die cut leaves giving them a fabulous print. I have also used washi tape (Included in DT kit) on the bottom edges of the tissue box.

I am very happy with the final look of the box. Hope you like it too. You can link your entries below.

CAS cards using stencils

Hello freinds!!
Neha here and today I am sharing with you some CAS cards which I made using stencils. CAS is usually not my style and I was bit worried, but to my surprise I loved doing it. I had fun creating these cards. But Before I go ahead I would like to remind you about our current challenge. Here is the link to it.
Challenge #51

Today is the last day to link your entries so get it done before it gets over.
Now coming back to the post. I have used various techniques with stencils to make these cards, like using Distress Inks,Ombre effect,  embossing and Texture paste. So in total I made 4 CAS cards.

So here comes the first one. For this card I took a White CS and simply sponged DI picked raspberry through a stencil. I have varied the intensity of DI, at some place darker shade and light at others. Matted it over a Bright pink CS of matching shade which was then matted over a white card base. Finished off with a sentiment and a die cut butterfly.

In second card I tried ombre effect with stencil. I started with dabbing DI spun sugar through the stencil over a white CS, then worn lipstick and finally Picked raspberry. Matted it over a white card base. Stamped a sentiment (Kaisercarft) on vellum and heat embossed it using black EP. Placed it in the center of the card using foam dots to add some dimension and finished it off with enamel dots on its four corners.

For the third card I decided to do heat embossing and its really very easy to do it with stencils. I just dabbed my mini versamark ink pad through it on a white card base, added Clear EP onto it and embossed it using heat gun. Thereafter I used DIs Picked raspberry and Spiced marmalade for the emboss resist effect. Added final touch with some twine and a die cut.

And now comes the final card. Here I have simply used Ranger's texture paste through stencil on  a white CS. Matted it over a white Card base. Added some color to the card using heat embossed vellum flowers, leaves and sentiment. The stamp set is from IO, heat embossed it using gold EP and then colored them with sketch pens. Added some rhinestones.

So Guys this is all for the today's post. I hope you like my cards and will try some CAS cards using stencils in different ways. Lulupu store has a wide range of stencils available here. There is still some time left to link your entries for our current challenge here.

Hello friends!!!
Neha, here and today I am sharing with you my project for the current Challenge# 49. This month's theme is all about creating a feminine themed project along with a twist- to use wings and a cool color palette. You can find all the details about the challenge here

Lulupu Challenge #49 : Feminine - Use wings & Colour Palette.

For this challenge I have made a scrapbook which is inspired by the given color palette and for the wings part I have used a Prima doll stamp- Olive, along with the wings (Stamp from Prima) and butterfly.
The gorgeous pattern paper are from eno- greetings. I have used a lot of die cuts on the cover page which were there with the same paper pad. Also used flower lace (from my stash), fabric lace, washi tape, liquid pearls, flat back pearls and flowers.
Some close ups

The doll image was colored with pencil colors and faber castell sketch pen. Made her dress with pp, lace and adorned with pearls and rhinestones. Wings were stamped on a pattern paper and then fussy cut. I have used stickles glitter over the wings, top and hairband. Glued the image over the cover using foam dots.
These are some of the inside pages. The edges have been distressed with spun sugar DI

I have used MS doily punch at lot of places. This one is my favorite MS punch!!

The die cuts are from K & company. These are gorgeous and they have glittered ones also.

I hope you like it!!! Do take part in the challenge here!!!

Watercoloring with Distress Inks & Gelatoes

Hello Everyone!!

Dolly here and I welcome you all for another post on Watercolor cards. I hope you all are enjoying the lovely inspiration being shared by the team and trying out your creativity with Watercolors!

Also, we have a month long challenge going on for the same theme, you can read all about it in the below link: [Psst, did you know that you can link to a maximum of 10 challenges, including Lulupu]

Challenge 48 - Watercolors

Today I have a few cards which I will be sharing on watercolor techniques. I have been hooked to watercolors since the recent times, and its amazing to see what a small drop of water can do to your cards. So without any further delay.. Here I start:

1. For this card, which is super simple I just randomly painted a couple of spots on the watercolor paper with distress ink and stamped my image on top of it. For the backdrop, I sponged some distress and used a wet paint brush to spread the color. Easy peasy, aint it? You can use this technique for any image which has space for coloring inside.

2. This is the Bokeh effect which has been modified with a different stamp set. All you need to do is create your own background with different splash of colors on a watercolor piece of cardstock (any watercolor medium works for this - I have used distress inks). Once that is done, just take any block stamp and repeatedly stamp with with white ink. Thats it ! You have your own personalised 'Bokeh Effect'.

Another, similar card with the same technique but different stamp used!

3. This is one of my favorite watercolor technique so far! The 'No - line' water coloring. All you need is a very light ink to stamp the image. The best option is 'Antique linen' because its so light. To get the best effect, use a wet brush to color in the image with water (small sections at a time) and then drop small drop of color. The water does the rest of the trick. To get the soft shimmery back ground, I have used the silver gelato :) Isnt that pretty!! Just remember to paint a coat of water and then drop the colors.

Another close up! You can hardly see the outline :)

4. This card is another super simple and easy to create. All you need is to sponge your favorite colors on a piece of watercolor cardstock and mist the card with water. That does the trick to create a faux- watercolor look on the card! For my card, if you see carefully, you can see a stenciled background as well. All you need for that is any stencil of your choice spritzed with water and place that on the distressed cardstock. As we all know, water reacts with inks and creates this bleached look ! You can then stamp your choice of image/ sentiment in black ink! Voila, the card is ready!

5. Last but definitely not the least: a super simple card with gelatoes. For this card, I just used the gelato stick right on the cardstock and generously misted it water. I also used my fingers to spread the color and give that soft look. I used my blow dryer to dry the piece and then die cut the word on it, which was used as my shaker window!

A close up look for the gelatoes with watercolor background!

So, I hope I have been successful at inspiring you all to try out your watercolors ! Do let me know which card you liked the best :) Waiting to hear from all of you. Thanks for stopping by!

Love!

Mixed media canvas using gelatos

Hello Friends!!!
Neha here,  today I am sharing with you a mixed media canvas using different techniques with Gelatos.

Mixed media canvas

Gelatos are creamy, compact pigment sticks that glide easily onto paper, canvas, wood, and more. They give vibrant color and coverage and can be used dry (you can blend them easily without water by just using your finger) or dissolved with water to create cool watercolor effect.
In this canvas I have used Gelatos to color canvas using drip technique, with stencils, stamping, coloring stamped image etc. I also have a pictorial below describing the entire process.  So lets get started...

Steps:
1. I started with a thick chipboard and gessoed it. It gives a smooth and even background for the base.

2. Next I scribbled  Raspberry and watermelon from Gelatos Mix and Match tropical set in the middle of the canvas.

3. Sprayed some water over them using mini misters.

4. As gesso offers resistance, the gelatos simply dilute and pour down the canvas beautifully - rather than absorbing into it and appearing like blobs of color. I did the same in opposite direction also.

5. Sprinkled some salt to give it more dimension and texture.

6. When it dried, just removed it with a tissue paper.

7. You can see the effect of adding salt.

8. Next I used gelatos Margarita mix and Snow cone through different stencils and just blended them with fingers before lifting up the stencils.

9. You can also use Gelatos for stamping. Just spritz some water over the stamp, rub gelatos over it and stamp the image. The image is subtle and not sharp like you would get with ink. If you want a soft watercolor effect, this is a great way to go.

10. I used a couple of texture and script stamps from Bo Bunny and Butterfly stamp from Kaisercarft.

11. Then I used DIs Black soot and Vintage photo at the edges.

12. Added some more texture using Texture paste and stencils and our background is ready.

Now you can apply gel medium over the canvas if you want this background to be permanent or otherwise don't wet this surface further. When gelatos color dries completely they become archival.
Embellished it with some diecut, stamped and colored image- Prima bloom girl- Sharon, chipboard letters and some butterflies. I have colored the image with pencil colors, sketch pens and gelatos (butterflies). Chipboard letters also have been colored with gelatos (rubbed over it and blended with fingers). Used stickles over the butterflies on the image and then coated them with glossy accents. Also used Liquid pearls over the die cut clock.
Few close ups

So guys!! I hope I have inspired you enough to work with Gelatos. They come in a wide variety of colors which are available here
Thanks for stopping by!!! Don't forget to play along our monthly challenge- Love you SWEETS
Have a great day ahead!!!
