What a Balloon

Hello.

I saw the challenge over at Fezziwigs for interactive cards and decided I'd have a go.  I'm not sure what I had planned, but I know this didn't turn out like I planned! I think I'm happy with it though.

I'd like to enter it in

Magic Wands

Morning.

Do you ever wish someone would wave a magic wand and all the housework would be done? Yeah, me too!

Maybe the little girl in this card could use Teddy's wand to and do my tidying for me.....

This is one I made for a friend's niece earlier on in the year and has just never been shared. Not even sure why, cos she's actually quite cute.

Moving Along With The Times Challenge

Morning.

It's time for a new challenge at Moving Along With The Times.

This week our theme, chosen by Claire, is

Give Thanks

I've chosen not to go down the Thanksgiving route and have gone instead for a thank you card.

Love this image of the little girl cuddling Wellington the Bear.

This is my last challenge for MAWTT so it's quite sad but it's appropriate that I go out with a thank you. A thank you for having me!

Birthday Celebrations

Hello.

We've been celebrating today as it's Craig's 13th birthday! A teenager, I can hardly believe it.

So today's cards are the birthday cards I made for Craig from us and from Scott.

This is our card using one of the Owen images from Digi Stamp Boutique. Found these images on Tuesday while browsing for something else (which I didn't find)

Top Five(ish) of 2013

Hello again!

Well here I am, with my last post of 2013 and I wanted to share with you what have been my favourites of the year. Well, they're my favourites as I write this. I could have chosen more.

My favourite Tiddly Inks stamp and quite possibly my most used stamp EVER. This was my first attempt at cropping the image and using just a head shot but I was so pleased with how it turned out.

A very simple card, literally thrown together when I got back home from the SECC in October with some new stash! Simple but I love it.

A card with slightly more thrown at it. This was a DT card for That Craft Place and the theme was stitches. So I decided just to go a bit wild!

Another DT card but this time a card that was actually made for the lovely Sandra's daughter. It's my first ever Time for Tea Designs image and I need to get some more in the new year!

A card for Scott using Jake from Visible Image.  He loved it and declared his day to have been AWESOMELY EPIC.

And last, but certainly not least, Craig's birthday card. This Kraftin Kimmie image reminded me so much of Craig on the computer/games console and I found the bubble sentiment in some long forgotten stash and it just seemed so appropriate.

So that's it. 2013 in a nutshell. I've had some highs, I've had some lows but you know what, you guys have been there and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it (not least because I know I'm not talking to myself)

It's onwards and upwards for 2014! Things are going to get better :D

I'm off to prepare the house for our Hogmanay party later so as my Mum would have said - "lang may yer lum reek".....

Have a good one!

Following A Star

Morning.

So did you watch Strictly last night? I'm kinda disappointed, no, not in the result, I was delighted with that. It just didn't *feel* like a final. Blackpool this year was better and more exciting.

Today we're off to the Sunday School Nativity. It's something a little different... it's a singalong Mama Mia Nativity. Yes, I know what you're thinking, I can see your face, I did that face too, but actually, it's very very good! Craig is an acting Joseph (there's an adult singing his part) and Scott is a Wise One *coughs*. Looking forward to it though, it should be fun.

So on to today's card. This is another of the cards I made for a friend's family (I did Mum, Dad, Wife, Husband, Son, Daughter, Brother and Sister!) You saw sister the other day, well this is the wife one. I had to put them all in different envelopes so that it didn't spoil anyone's surprise.

I love little Bumble Bee, she's a fabulous stamp and lends herself very well to being paper pieced.

Woosh. Where Did The Week Go?

Morning! Goodness me, time is really flying in now isn't it? I had intended to post much more this week but I've been busy being ill (AGAIN) (phoned doc for an appointment on Monday afternoon, first available appointment Christmas Eve!!!), doing lots of school stuff, finishing Christmas card orders, ignoring housework etc!

So the boys stop for their holidays today so Christmas is definitely on the way!

This is a card I was asked to make and I was instructed to put a touch of One Direction on the card :/ Yeah, I know! So I trawled Christmas catalogues and found a photo of a book or a dvd (not sure which) in the Asda catalogue and made it look like Wryn is reading it! The card has gone down well so I guess that's a result.

An Awesomely Epic Day

Well, 3 out of 4 members of the family enjoyed Scott's birthday yesterday. Unfortunately Craig was up sick through the night and wasn't able to join in any birthday celebrations - although later on in the day he was able to have a bit of birthday cake! So the birthday meal was postponed and fingers crossed we'll be having it tonight.

So this is the first of Scott's cards. I figured Jake was perfect for him not least because there is an 8 on his tshirt... yeah I know it's text speak for skate but never mind ;)

That Craft Place Challenge

Hello again - this must be something of a record - 3 posts and it's not even 10am yet!!

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Animals

That gives you lots of scope - creations with animals on them!

I decided not to go for a card this time but instead to make a card game... yeah, I know, crazy huh!

I cut 16 ATC sized bits of card (2.5in by 3.5in) and stamped them with this cute little frog and rabbit stamps which are Docrafts Country Companions range.

I then coloured them with my Promarkers and inked round the edge of the cards with some DI and stamped little leaves round the edges of the cards too. There's also a handy little box to keep the pairs in.

I had hoped to get a photo of one of the boys playing the game but the answer was a resounding no!

Love to Create Challenge

Morning all, Monday again. Doesn't that come round quick? AND we're nearly at the end of January, goodness, it'll be Christmas before we know it ;)

It's time for a new challenge at Love to Create and this week our theme is

Anything Goes With A Sentiment

So an easy one this week but remember your sentiment.

We're sponsored this week by Stamp Fairy who were kind enough to give the DT some images to play with.

I've used Mimi and Teddy for my card as I thought she was very sweet and I had the perfect sentiment stamp to go with her. Unfortunately when I went to make the card, I couldn't find the sentiment stamp! It's an old Penny Black stamp which says "How Do You Wrap A Hug". However I went looking through my stash and found this sentiment from a set of Docrafts stamps with Wellington Bear and thought it was even more perfect.
