I adore this flower
with it's lemon yellow dots
that turn to marigold as they head to the tips of it's petals
offering cherry red  at the end
lovely little cliff dwellers that grow on a mossy mat on rock outcroppings

the elegant Queen's cup
a single white flower on each plant
and when the flower goes to seed
it offers the world a single blue colored berry (not edible)

We have indeed entered berry season:

I was on a camping trip last week
So hungry for breakfast
stopped the van to take a photo....
and little bushes of fat berries offered themselves to me!
Huckleberry season!

mountain roads are where I wander often
they beckon
(half they year they are closed due to snow and ice)

it is such a joy to see fields of flowers

and gems of dew on morning flowers

the season of flowing waters

Lovely day and beyond to you!

It has been so long... since i posted

in early summer
a lovely lady slipper orchid

a single lemon mandala of lichen on rock

this green orchid was a lovely surprise
found it as i was harvesting wild huckleberries
always fun to meet a new wildlfower

our summer has been cooler than usual
with many rainstorms
dramatic thunder and lightning
inspiring mushrooms to fruit
you know I love that!

a young moose appeared on a trail
so sweet, mamma was near by

I love these little rock dwellers
the spotted saxifrage
found in the mountains

another new flower to me: Capnoides sempervirens
the rock harlequin

waterfalls
summer is also about waterfalls

a glimpse of a Montana summer

I hope you are enjoying summer wherever you are in the world!

Spotted Saxifrage

thrilled to see these cliff dwellers

high in the mountains they thrive

their details can only be seen
if one pauses
gets down on their knees

lemon, tangerine and crimson

A Mountain Drive

winding along
a mountain road

where water does flow

and flowers do grow
(tiny Spotted Saxifrage)

looking over the edge
at the bushland
a multitude of winding creeks and a beaver home

pillow of pollen

waterfalls arriving from the inner realm
through a crack in a mountain

a mossy island
natures grace

colorful pebbles,
eye candy

delighted at each bend of the road

Evening Walk

such an inviting road
still closed to cars due to avalanches
perfect for wandering
(Eureka Mountains)

exquisite flowers cloak the earth
like stars dance in the skies

wonderful flowers for us to find

so much bear grass that it inspires joy

the precious and tiny spotted saxifrage

look at what i found on my cabin!
a muddy bear print
at shoulder height
about the size of my hand:

summer is full on here
with days around 90F
pretty hot, but nice with a breeze and shade

Summer Solstice 2013

Summer Solstice beauty thrills

walking forest paths so lush

never knowing who is far or near

tiny glimpses
charm my eyes

flowers one with butterflies

flowers and green cloak the earth

mother's hide their tiny fawns

blooms celebrate the sun's rays

a new season dawns

Dreaming of Summer

late autumn fills our days and nights

rain not snow falls from the sky

cloaked in gray
rarely a sunny day

i dream of summer flowers

and
butterfly wings

a peak of petals
