What is it about the Watched Pot?

Isn't that just life?  A watched pot will never boil.  Okay so it will eventually, but it seems like it takes F.O.R.E.V.E.R......

This week I have discovered two other things that take forever to happen.

1)  For my spring bulbs to show their colorful blooms once the leaves start peaking out of the ground, and

2)  A fabric line to make it into my hands once a designer shows us a gorgeous preview.

This one is Pure by Sweetwater.  I am in love with the browns in this collection!  I would love to have some of this for the new patterns I am currently designing, but it won't be out for m.o.n.t.h.s. . . .  They are having a drawing with the introduction of this new line, so you may want to head over to their blog before Monday.  HERE is the link.

Have a great weekend!

Remember to post your Block Number 1 if you haven't yet.  Add you picture to the hundred of fabulous blocks we have already.  The next block will be announced Monday.  Can't wait to show you!

Thanks and a Winner!

Thanks for the input on the novelty fabrics. I was surprised at the result. Here are the two that got the most votes:

The monkeys from P&B Textiles collection called Safari So Good coming out this fall,

and the Farm Toile from the Benartex collection called Farmyard Toile.

So I will have to add my vote to break the tie. Actually I liked the sewing machines. I thought that one would have been a fun challenge, but that doesn't break the tie. I will see which one is easier to get my hands on.

Now for the winner of the drawing . . .

I went to random.org to generate a random number. I think random numbers are fascinating. They rarely seem truely random. So the winner is number 1. How can the number 1 be random? And yet it is.

The first post was made by Jana. Yeah for Jana! Thanks for being the first post! Jana, email me your address at kluckau@moosequilts.com, and I will send you out some of our challenge fabric when I get it. (That may be a month or two, but I will send it.)

Thanks for playing! Happy 25th of July!

Home Machine Quilting Show

Going to be somewhere near Utah this weekend? Come to the Home Machine Quilting Show at the Sandy South Towne Expo Center. The website is http://www.hmqs.org/ for more info. It's a great show with lots of vendors and a WOW quilt show and national teachers offering some fun classes. It's worth a visit if you are anywhere nearby.

AND if you come to HMQS, be sure to come visit my booth. It is way in the back left corner near the quilt show. Not only will I have books and fabric you may want to buy, but I will also have information about Quilts of Valor, http://www.qofv.org/.

To help the Quilts of Valor organization, I have decided to offer a drawing for quilting prizes worth over $50! To get your name in this drawing, bring a quilt to donate to Quilts of Valor. There are some guidelines like the minimum size in 50" x 60," and it does need to be machine pieced and machine quilted and labeled. You will get your name in the drawing, and I will take care of the shipping cost. QOV quilts are given to Chaplains at VA Hospitals who present the quilts to wounded soldiers. Take a look at the website for more info.

One last thing -- the vendor hours are:
Thursday, May 7th - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, May 8th - 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, May 9th - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Stop by and say hi!
