Snowy Day -- For All Dressed Up Stamps

It's February 1, and it's time for the first challenge of the year at All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook Group.  The theme of the challenge this month is 'For the Girls'.  Wendy has dozens and dozens of adorable images that fit this theme in the ADU Store.  Check them out!

Since it's bitterly cold where I live this time of year (-11F today with windchills of -24), I wanted to work on an image that would fit my mood.  Snowy Days fit the challenge theme and my cold, cold feet, lol!

I colored Snowy Days with a combination of Copic markers and Olo Markers.  I was originally going to cut her out, but I didn't want to lost the snowflakes that adorn the image.  I cut her out with a stitched rectangle die from Taylored Expressions instead.  I made the background using a piece of Arctic card stock from Hero Arts.  I blended 3 shades of Taylored Expressions inks around the outside edges, then used Unicorn White pigment ink by Hero Arts and a small dotted stencil from Taylored Expressions.  The sentiment and the backer are from Pink & Main.  I thought it was perfect for this image.

The challenge ate All Dressed Up Stamps facebook group goes all February.  I hope you can join in the fun! I'd love to see your creations.

In Sympathy --- using Hero Arts

Greetings, crafty friends!  I hope you are enjoying the holiday season. Even though it's the holidays, the need for sympathy cards continues.  I have 2 to share with you today.

When I need sympathy cards, I often reach for a stamp and doe set from Hero Arts.  It's called the Hero Arts With Sympathy Bundle .  I used different color ways on these 2 cards, but the same basic design:

I like creating my own background paper, and I did that here using watermark ink and clear embossing powder.   I stamped and colored up several of the floral designs in the bundle, but decided to keep it very simple.  They were colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching dies in the set.  I heat stamped the sentiment and several extra layers, glued them together, and had some dimension for my card.  The vellum was cut using the Hero Arts circle infinity dies.  HA vellum is the thickest I've ever used.  It has become my favorite vellum.

Here's a close up of each card.  The first uses Pesto card stock:

The second card uses Peacock card stock:

Supplies used on the cards:

vellum
Circle infinity dies

Happy 2025! A New Release at All Dressed Up Stamps

Here it is, the first card I created for the year fast approaching.  It's a new release from All Dressed Up Stamps.  Wendy Burns releases 3 images each month and the design team showcases them at various times throughout the month.  Today, I had the honor of creating with 'Happy 2025':

I colored 'Happy 2025' with Copic markers. I used 2 different hexagon dies from Taylored Expressions to cut her out and add the embossed details.  I then got out my circle dies to add some festive color and to create the round card base.  The Happy New Year sentiment is a rub on  from Hero Arts.  They have the best rub-ons I've ever used.

There she is, wishing you an outstanding new year!

Thanks for stopping by today.

The shiny aqua snowflakes were cut out using the Snowflake Pattern Cover Plate die.  The 'Friend' word die is from the Smile/Friend Stamp and Cut XL. The Happy Holidays stamp was part of the November 2023 kit. I used 2 colors of Hero Hues card stock -- Passion FlowerAmethyst.

A Cheerful Snowman -- for The Paper Shelter

Hello, crafty friends!  It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter.  This is our Christmas Break challenge.  It will run for a month to give the design team a little break.

I used one of my favorite winter images from The Paper Shelter -- A Cheerful Snowman --

I colored A Cheerful Snowman with a combination of Copic and Olo markers.  The wonky stitched oval dies that I used tout out and back the image have been in my stash for a long time and no longer have an identifying label on them.  The snowflakes were cut out with glitter card byAltenew.  I used a combination of snowflake dies by Cheery Lynn and Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts, cut out with a die from Pink & Main.

I hope you can join us this next month at The Paper Shelter.  The above graphic explains the rules of the challenge and the prizes you could win.

Prickle All the Way -- for Di's Digistamps Challenge

Happy holidays and thanks for visiting my blog!  This is it, my final Christmas card of 2025 (or possibly for 2026).  I'm in the process of sending out cards and I think I have enough for this season.  Yeah!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Di's Digistamps Challenges.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is 'Winter Holidays'.  Di has so, so many cute digis for the winter/Christmas season.  Check out her Etsy shop and see for yourself!

I used the darling image Prickle all the Way for today's card:

I colored Prickle All the Way with Copic markers.  I used new elongated circle dies with a blanket stitch edge (Pinkfresh Studios) to cut out and back the Prickle image. The blue snowflake designer paper is from Crafter's Companion. The sentiment is a stamp/die combo from Hero Arts.  I kept the card simple because I love the Prickle all the Way image and wanted it to be the focus of the card, with no distractions.

I hope you can join us this fortnight for our Winter/Christmas holidays challenge.  I'd love to see what you create!!

I hope to enter this card in the following challenges:

Holly Jolly Mice -- for Di's Digistamps

December -- are your Christmas cards done?  I'm sharing another one I made today, just in case I need it. You'd think I'd know exactly how many I need, but honestly, I never exactly know.  So, therefore, here's another to add to the growing pile.

I made this with a Di's Digistamp image.  I just love her stamps, and color them up whenever I have a chance.  They are so precious! This card is made using Holly Jolly Mice:

I colored up Holly Jolly Mice using Copic markers.  I thought a circle die best fit the shape of the Holly Jolly Mice digi, and I tried a few different shapes.  The designer papers are from Crafter's Companion.  The sentiment is from a Pink & Main stamp set.  Thek die cut snowflakes are from my stash.  I've had them for years.

I hope you visit the Di's Digistamps Etsy Shop to see all her wonderful images.

I hope to enter this card in the following challenges:

Winter Walk -- in Tribute at The Paper Shelter

Greetings, my crafty friends!  Thank you for visiting my blog today.  The entire The Paper Shelter team is having a two-week challenge in memory of Veronica, the former owner of The Paper Shelter. Se died a short time ago.  She loved the store, the blog, and seeing everyone's creations with her and her husband, Pedro's images.

I used one of my favorite images from her to create a card for today's tribute.  I suspect Veronica was just as much of a dog lover as I am, because she has soooo many darling images with dogs in them.  Today, I created a card using Winter Walk.  Just looking at this image makes me smile!

I colored Winter Walk with a combination of Copic and Olo markers.  I used a set of mini slim dies from Spellbinders to cut out the Winter Walk image and mat it. The designer paper is the background is from Crafter's Companion.  It's part of a 12x12 Christmas pad I've had for quite a while.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the gems are from Taylored Expressions.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks paying tribute to our beloved Veronica. Also, please visit the blogs in this hop to see all the inspiration and give them some love.

My Big Scarf -- for The Paper Shelter

Hello, fellow crafters!  Thanks for stopping by today.  It's  time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog.  The theme for challenge #618 is 'Dots &/or Stripes'.  I love combining dots & stripes, so this was a fun challenge for me.  Have you visited the Paper Shelter store lately?  There are so many fantastic sets to color, and each set comes with a pre-colored image, if coloring isn''t your thing.  There are also wonderful coloring books and pages.

For this week's dots & stripes theme, I used the image, My Big Scarf

I started out by coloring the .jpg image of My Big Scarf with Copic markers, then started the hunt for dots & stripes papers to match the colors of the My Big Scarf image. I found both dots & stripes to match in a retired paper collection from Taylored Expressions.

I created the card with mini slim cutting dies from Pink & Main.  They made constructing this card very easy. The sentiment is from a stamp & die set from Hero Arts. The gems to complete the card are by Altenew.

The above graphic explains the the prizes given away each week at The Paper Shelter Challenges.  I hope you enter because I'd love to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!

For my card for this challenge, I colored up the image, My Good Boy. I used the black & white .png stamp to create this:

I used 3 circles and 3 die cut dog bones to meet the criteria for the challenge theme.

I colored the image with Copic markers, used a set of circle dies from Hero Arts to cut out the circles.  The designer paper is from Newton's Nook.  The dog bone dies are from Cheery Lynn.  The sentiment is a stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions.

Garden Wheelbarrow -- A New Release at All Dressed Up Stamps

Hello, crafty friends!   I hope you are enjoying March.

Today is New Release day at All Dressed Up Stamps.  There are 3 new releases this month, and the talented design team has inspiration for you in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group and on the ADU Challenge blog

I had the pleasure of designing with the digital stamp, Garden Wheelbarrow.   I couldn't help myself.  I love to color rusty things:

I colored Garden Wheelbarrow with Copic markers.  I love  all the pretty flowers in this wheelbarrow!

I stamped the sentiment with a stamp set from Hero Arts.  The pretty spring papers are from Newton's Nook.  I cut the Garden Wheelbarrow image out with double stitched dies from The Scrappimg Cottage.  The watering can die is by Crafter's Companion.

Star Pup -- for All Dressed Up Stamps

It's almost Christmas!  I hope you are almost ready.  Merry Christmas to you and yours.

It's the 22nd of the month, which means it's time for the All Dressed Up Stamps design team to feature this month's new releases. There are 3.  I had the great privilege of creating with Star Pup.  As always, this image is paw-sitively adorable!

Here's Star Pup, celebrating a birthday:

Star Pup is saying, "Let's Paw-ty", although it's terribly hard to read. I colored  Star Pup with Copic markers.  I used dies from Hero Arts to cut out the stats and the stitched circle. The papers are from Newton's Nook.

You'll find two challenges each month at All Dressed Up Stamps.  There is one in the ADU Facebook Group and one on the challenge  blog.  We are taking the month of January off to give the team a break.

Thanks for visiting my blog during this busy time. Enjoy the holidays!

My Little Elf -- for All Dressed Up Stamps

Dec. 1--How did we get here so fast!  I'm NOT ready for this busy Christmas season!

Dec 1 -- it's time for a new challenge in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook Group.  The challenge is the whole month of December.  Our theme this month is Layer It.

I used a fairly new release on my project, My Little Elf, found in the All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy Shop. Here's my creation for the challenge:

I colored My Little Elf with Copic markers. I tried for some not-so-traditional Christmas colors.

Here's how I layered up the card to fit the challenge criteria:  I cut My Little Elf out using a stitched arch die by Pink & Main.  I layered this unto another (bright green) arch layer.  These are both layered unto a piece of burgundy snowflake designer paper.  This was all glued unto a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch top folding card base. To add another layer, and a holiday embellishment, I added a candy cane die cut by Hero Arts. It is a 2-layer die.  The sentiment was 2 parts.  Both words are layered up 3 times and glued together to add some dimension.

I hope you like My Little Elf.  Color up your own All Dressed Up Stamps image. Add some layers and enter the challenge.  I'd love to see what you create!

Winter Pups-- a New Release for All Dressed Up Stamps

Hello, my craft friends!  It's almost Christmas.  Are you ready?

Today the Dressy Girls are featuring this month's new releases at All Dressed Up Stamps.  You'll find inspiration both in the ADU Facebook Group, and on the challenge blog

As you may know, or suspect from the name of my blog, I am a huge dog lover.  When Wendy released Winter Pups, I was absolutely thrilled, and knew I had to create with it.

Here's my interpretation of Winter Pups:

I colored Winter Pups with Copic markers.  It was so fun to color! Then I die cut the image with a Spellbinders dotted rectangle die.  The papers are from Crafter's Companion. The snowflake embellishments are from Hero Arts.

I hope you check out the rest of the inspiration, and don't forget that All Dressed Up Stamps has 2 challenges each month.  I'd love to see what you create!

It's Snowing -- a new challenge at All Dressed Up Stamps

Happy December, crafty friends!  Here we go -- the busiest month of the year.  Do you have your Christmas cards done?  I'm going to send mine out the next few days.

December -- that means there is a new challenge starting in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group.  The theme for this month is 'Clean & Simple'.  Plus, you must use an All Dressed Up Stamps image.

Is CAS easy for you, or a challenge?  I think most of the cards I make are CAS, since I like to make the image front and center.  But then, when it's a CAS challenge, I am unsure of the definition and am never sure if the card I made actually fits the theme or not.  Such insecurity!

Here's my interpretation of a CAS card using the darling image, It's Snowing

I kept it simple, just backing the image with a snowflake paper (from Crafter's Companion), colored yardstick, and an inked 6x6 card base.

I colored It's Snowing with Copic markers, adding in a few snowdrifts.  I love to use blue violet colors when coloring snow.  Living in Wisconsin, I have plenty of time to observe snow and it's shadows every winter.  In fact, we've had snow on the ground for a couple weeks now.

I used dies from Queen & Company to cut out the image and the backing layers. The snowflake sequins are by Hero Arts. I heat embossed the Warm Wishes sentiment -- also by Hero Arts.

I hope you find time to join us this month for our Clean & Simple challenge at All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group. I'd love to see your interpretation of CAS!

Cafe -- an All Dressed Up Stamps New Release

Hey, hey, crafty friends! It's new release day at All Dressed Up Stamps!  There are 3 new releases.  I was fortunate enough to be able to play with Cafe. It's the perfect image for Fall & Winter (or dog lovers).

Here's what I created with Cafe

I colored Cafe with Copic markers.  I realized I had sized her to perfectly fit on a mini slimline card, so that's what I created.  There's a bit of ink blending on the card base, then a piece of snowflake paper from AMB Illustrations.  I used a couple stitched mini slimline dies from Queen & Company.  The sentiment is a stamp from Hero Arts.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I added some drip drops from Taylored Expressions to finish off the card.

Check out the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group, and the All Dressed Up Stamps Challenge blog for more great New Release inspiration!

Sea You Soon -- For Dies R Us Challenges

August 1 --the months keep flying by!  August 1 means there is a new challenge starting on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  This month, the theme is Summer.  Yea, that's a fun theme! Make sure to use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store, follow the theme, and you're all set!

I love lighthouses, and kayaking to my favorite ones in the Apostle Islands.  When I think of summer, I think of kayaking trips on Lake Superior.  Those were my thought when I created this card:

The lighthouse scene die is from Hero Arts.  It's called Looking Glass Lighthouse. I colored it with Copic markers. I also used the Hero Arts Looking Glass Circle & Square Frames die. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts  Seas the Day clear stamp set.  I cut the sentiment out with Pink & Main Large Sentiment Strip Dies. The card is finished off with some Unicorn Pearls -- also from Pink & Main.

It's been nearly a month since I fractured my knee.  I had this card made before it happened.  I This will be my last post until I'm allowed to put weight on my knee.  I can't navigate stairs, and my craft room is in the basement.  It's looking like a couple more months of being in a wheelchair, and I'll hopefully be ready to walk again!

I hope you can join us this month for the Anything Goes Challenges. Enjoy the summer!

Balloon Bouquet -- For Dies R Us Challenges

July 15-- and it's the start of a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.   The theme is Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

We card makers make a lot of cards in a year, but I think the one I make the most of is birthday cards.  I'm always needing one!  So, for today's challenge, I have -- you guessed it!- a birthday card:

I made this card for my 33 year nephew.  Even at his age, all he wants is the $ inside!  But, I still like him to know he's loved, so a handmade card he gets!

This uses a die from Crafter's Companion called 'Balloon Bouquet'.  It's a great paper piecing die!

The sentiment and die cut are from Hero Arts.  It's part of a set called Sentiments XL. I embossed it with navy blue embossing powder by Nuvo.  The sequins are also by Nuvo.

I broke my knee last week, and I need to get it elevated and use some ice.  So, this post is short!  I do hope you can join us these next 2 weeks at Dies R Us Challenges.
