Porcupine Wishes -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

From guest designer to design team member.  Woohoo!  I'm now on the Imagine That! Digis by Kris design team, and I couldn't be more excited!  Today is my first official post as a DT member.  Yes!

My husband's birthday is just around the corner, so I thought it was time to get a card made for him.  Since he's a nature lover, I thought this Birthday Porcupine, and it's 'sharp' sentiment would be perfect!

I colored the Birthday Porcupine with Copic markers.  I used a couple bright, fun papers from the Birthday Bubbles digi paper set. I thought those pink heart bubbles were just too cute!

I had so much fun making the first card that I made a second one.  This uses a pre-colored image and 2 different papers from the Birthday Bubbles collection.

Both of the sentiments on these cards come with the Birthday Porcupine set.

Want some awesome Imagine That! Digis by Kris goodness for yourself?  Here's a discount code for you!

I'd like to enter these cards in the following challenges:

Tags, Tags, Tags -- at Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Have you seen the new releases this week at Imagine That! Digis by Kris?  There are some spectacular ones you NEED to check out, and they are at 50% off for a short time! Today, there are some wonderful tags and labels being released.  I have 2 projects to showcase with them:

First, using the Sweet Mice Tags & Labels & Tooty Fruity papers

I created this treat bag using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used one of the pre-printed tags from the Sweet Mice Tags & Labels, and the Tooty Fruity cherry paper matched it perfectly!  A little twine wrapped around the treat bag, and it's ready for delivery. Baking the goodies for inside the treat bag -- now that would be more work.  I'll buy those at the bakery!

The second tag is from the newly released Woodland Friends Tags & Labels and Woodlands Papers (the 2 free ones!!):

This uses:

I fussy cut one of the Woodland Friends Tags & Labels, then used various tag dies to create the layered tag. A few fibers from Close To My Heart finished off this simple yet effective tag.

I hope you enjoyed these 2 projects.  There's much more inspiration to be found on the Imagine That! Digis by Kris blog and the Imagine That! Digistamp Facebook Group.

Use this promo code to get 50% off of the new releases for a limited time!!

Have a Silly Seahorse Kind of Day -- for Oddball Art Stamps

It's time for a bit of mid-challenge inspiration over on the Oddball Art Challenge blog.  This month, the theme is 'Going in Circles'.  I can do that easily enough, so the challenge should be easy, right?

Using Image #323 - Sid the Silly Seahorse, some watercolor papers and my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, I created this:

Once I got the effect I wanted, I used circle dies to create the card.  The stitched circle die is from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The circle background die is form Spellbinders.  I used a circle punch on the sentiment (also from Craftin' Desert Divas).  The waves background paper is from Imagine That! Digis by Kris.  The purple shimmer trim is from Close To My Heart.

Do you need #323 - Sid the Silly Seahorse in your own collection?  Been eyeing some other Oddball Art goodies?  Did you see yesterday's new release?  Check out the Oddball Art Etsy store, and use discount code DTJULIE10 to get 10% off of anything in the store!  Yea!  Then, with new digis at the ready, come join the circle challenge at the Oddball Stamps Challenge blog

To My Tweet Friend -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Here we are, closing in on the end of my 3 months of guest designing for Imagine That! Digis by Kris. It's been a great ride from start to finish, and I'm so glad for this opportunity!

I love being out in nature.  When I'm not at work or in my craft room, I find any excuse I can to be outdoors.  I love to watch the changing seasons, listen to the birds, and see what I can see.  We have a pair of Great Horned Owls that nest in the neighborhood.  I seldom see them, but I hear them often, especially in the winter.  I don't think today's owl looks anything like them, but he sure has personality, don't you think?

Isn't he a hoot!  I love that bluebird that has come to join in the fun!

This is from the Imagine That! Digi Stamp Owl with Robin set

I really like that there are digi papers with this set.  I used 3 of them on this card.

I colored the Owl with Robin with Copic markers.  The sentiment, also part of the set, was printed, then cut out with a banner die.  I cut the tree branch out with my Silhouette Cameo.

There's an Easy as 1-2-3 challenge going on right now in the Imagine That! Creative Playground.  I'm going to enter this card, as there's still a few more days to play.  I used a tree limb, 2 birds, and 3 patterned papers.

Once again, I want to thank Kristy, Lisa,  and the whole Imagine That! team for the wonderful 3 months!

You're My Hero -- for Crafty Sentiments Designs

It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge at the Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog.  I'm the hostess this week, and the theme is 'For Someone Special'.  Hopefully, we all have many special someones in our lives that we send cards to, so this should be an easy one!

I have an elderly gentlemen who moved across the state many years ago now. He was a very faithful volunteer in the nursing home where I work for 13 years.  I try to send him a card every week.   Here's the card I'm sending him this week.

He's a very patriotic man, so I think he's going to like this.

This card uses a rubber stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs.  It's Patsy & Gizmo - Flag.

I colored the Patsy & Gizmo - Flag rubber stamp with Copic markers.  The Americana backing papers are from the Imagine That! Digis by Kris Shop.  The sparkly gold stars are from my stash.  The sentiment is a stamp from Joy's Life.

I hope you can join us this week for the 'someone special' challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  We have great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!  Join us in the Crafty Sentiments Facebook group, too, for contests, challenges, and even more inspiration.  We'd love to have you!

Happy Fall! for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Here we are, on the 3rd month of my guest designing for Imagine That! Digis by Kris already.  It must be true -- time flies when you're having fun, because I'm certainly enjoying myself with these wonderful digis and papers!

Fall is upon us where I live.  While on a motorcycle ride Sunday, my husband and I saw many trees beginning to turn, the geese are having flying lessons with their young each day, and the song birds are migrating through.  Squirrels, too, like Humphrey, are busy getting ready for winter!

I colored Humphrey's Sunflower with Copic markers.  Papers for this card are from the IT! DBK Fabulous Fall Digi Papers.  The sentiment is part of the Humphrey's Sunflower stamp set.

The card was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo, using a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The fall leaves are a Sizzix die -- Alterations, for Tim Holtz.

Imagine That! Digi Playground has an Easy as 1-2-3 challenge going on right now.  I'm going to enter this:  3 designer papers, 2 circles, 1 adorable squirrel!

I hope you visit the Imagine That! Digi stamps blog to see much more inspiration, and to join in the challenge.

Hope and Healing -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Greetings, fellow crafters!  I have a couple of fun cards to share this afternoon.

I was recently playing around with some fun papers from Imagine That! Digis by Kris

I used the papers to create these 2 digital cards:

and

I used a band aid from the papers, cropped it, enlarged it, and wrote the appropriate text inside.  Then, it was just a bit of fussy cutting and backing with black card stock.

The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I had great fun experimenting, playing, and creating!   Thanks to Kris at Imagine That! Digis by Kris for the awesome papers to design with.  Fun, fun, FUN!!!

A Little Hello -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

I have a little extra something I'm posting this month for Imagine That! Digis by Kris.  I fell in love with this sweet image as soon as I saw it in the shop, I just had to color her up!

This is Emma, and I think she is just the sweetest thing!

I colored Emma with Copic markers, using bright, summery colors.  Then, I used some fun, bright papers from the Imagine That! Digi Stamp shop called Sunshine & Rain to create the card.  The sentiment is also from the Emma set.

The fancy card edges were created with dies from Hot off the Press.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I think she's just summery enough to enter in the signs ofsummer challenge at the Creative Playground, don't you?

Guardian Angel -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Happy hump day, everyone!  I have a love for lighthouses that has intensified over the years.  Since we've begun kayaking Lake Superior, and have kayaked to some lighthouses of the Apostle Islands, lighthouses have taken on even more significance for me.

SO, when The Outlawz Festive Fridays announced a Lighthouse-themed challenge this week for National Lighthouse Day, AND I found a wonderful lighthouse digi at Imagine That! Digis by Kris, along with some fantastic nautical papers, I had no choice but to enter in the fun!

Here's what I created:

I printed the entire Lighthouse digi, but only colored up the actual lighthouse portion with Copic markers
, then fussy cut that part.

The background paper is from the Nautical Digi paper pack

The sentiment is a rubber stamp mounted on wood. I found it in a small gift shop on one of our kayak trips.  I believe it is from Stampendous.

I had a super fun time creating this!  The lighthouse was so fun to color and the Nautical papers are beautiful!

With Heartfelt Sympathy -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Hello, my crafty friends.  I hope you are having a good week so far.  I can't believe how fast August is going!  I am almost 2 months into my 3 month guest designing stint at Imagine That! Digis by Kris.    I am so grateful to Kristy Breach and her design team for this opportunity!

Today, I am sharing a sympathy card that I made for a very special lady.  She died recently in our nursing home after living there for 8 years.  Her husband came everyday to visit her and help her with her lunch.  She had Alzheimer's Disease, so she slipped away from him and the family little by little.  I had the privilege of playing organ at her funeral and wanted a very special card to take with me to the service.  Here is what I created, using an Imagine That! Digis by Kris digi:

I used the beautiful Poppy file and colored it with Copic markers.  It also comes in a pre-colored version if you're short on time. The sentiment is from Sentimental Thoughts set, and is thoughtfully (pun intended) included with the Poppy file.

I used 2 sets of papers on this card -- 2 of them are found in the Freda's Flower Basket set (top 2 papers pictured below)

The green polka dot paper is from the Sunshine & Rain Digi Paper Pack.

I cut the center step card out on my Silhouette Cameo using a file from the Silhouette Design Store.  The butterflies are dies from Cheery Lynn.
Make sure to visit the Imagine That! Digis by Kris blog often for great inspiration. Join in on the Signs of Summer challenge going on now in the Creative Playground! Check out the Imagine That! Swishing by to say "hi" -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

I have another opportunity today to guest design on the Imagine That! Digis by Kris blog.  I'm on my second month of my 3 month stint already.  I am having so much fun!

Kris has so many wonderful digis, with fun sentiments in the sets.  I really, really like her new mermaids, so I decided to color one up.  This is Mermaid Swimming, colored with Copic markers...

I fussy cut Mermaid Swimming, then thought she needed a shaped card to swish by on.  I found this seashell shaped card in the Silhouette Design Store and cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo.  The blue designer paper is from Imagine That! Digis by Kris Rainy Day Fun Digi Papers.  It might not be what the paper was designed for, but I think it works well.  What do you think?

The sentiment is part of the Mermaid Swimming set.  I simply printed it and trimmed it.

The seashell and starfish embellishments are from Close To My Heart.

I hope you like this beautiful mermaid.  I had a great time coloring her and designing this card!

I used dies from Lawn Fawn to create the shaker part of the card.  The sequins are from Craftin' Desert Divas.

There is Always Sunshine... for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Hello, and happy Tuesday!  I'm guest designing again today on the Imagine That! Digis by Kris blog.  I'm super excited to have this 3 month opportunity, and can't believe this is already the end of month 1.

Today I made a card that I can enter in the Imagine That! Digistamp's Facebook group's summertime fun challenge AND the Imagine That! Digi playground shaped card challenge.

This card uses:

I colored Beach Floaty Girl with Copic markers, then fussy cut the image.  The sentiment is part of the Beach Floaty Girl set, too.  I printed and used 4 different papers from the Beach Combing Digi Paper Pack.

I created the circle shaped card using Lifestyle Crafts circle dies, and a bit of 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon.

I hope this makes you think of summertime!  Me?  I'm off to look for my flip flops and hit the beach!

Life's Hard - Eat Ice Cream! for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Happy Saturday!  I hope life isn't too hard for you, but you still have my permission to eat ice cream, or gelato, or whatever your favorite iced concoction is!

I'm posting today for Imagine That! Digis by Kris.  Kris recently offered an ice cream freebie file in the Imagine That! digistamp Facebook Group.  I decided to take advantage of her generosity and create something with one of the ice cream cones in the free file:

I created this as a shaped card so it can also be entered in the shaped card challenge going on over in the Imagine That! Creative Playground.

I paper pieced the ice cream cone, using digi papers from the Ice Cream Parlour Digi Paper Pack.  I used 5 of the papers in this pack on this card.  I love how they all coordinate!

The sentiment is part of the Freebie set offered in the Imagine That! Digistamp Facebook group.  Look for it in the files.

I cut the card base out on my Silhouette Cameo, using a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  There's a Die-namics cross stitched oval die, an American Crafts label die, and some Close To My Heart Glimmer trim and card stock to complete this card.

Warm Winter Wishes in July! for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

I had a bit of spare time of Saturday, before my husband and I jumped on the Harley for the afternoon.  There are a few Christmas in July challenges going on, so I decided to add another Christmas card to my stash. Since I was short on time, I used a pre-colored image from Imagine That! Digis by Kris.

This card uses the following products from Imagine That! Digis by Kris:

The sentiment is part of the Snowmen Trio set.

The stitched circle die and the snowflake dies are by Lawn Fawn.  The lacy oval die is from Craftin' Desert Divas.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

An Extra Yummy Birthday -- for Imagine That! Digis by Kris

Yeehaw!  I've somehow snagged an awesome guest designing gig for the next 3 (three!!!) months!  I've been asked to post twice monthly for Imagine That! Digis by Kris, and I am thrilled!

Today, I have a card I colored with Copic markers.  It features the following 3 sets:

After that introduction, let's get to it!

I printed the Ice Cream Boy digi on a large piece of Copic X Press It paper.  Once I got the coloring the way I like it, I cut it in a 4.5 x 4.5 inch square.   Then, I found the sentiment I wanted. This was perhaps the hardest part of the whole project, as there are many fun ones in the Ice Cream Sentiments Set! Once the sentiment was ready, I printed some papers from the Ice Cream Parlour Digital Paper Pack in colors that matched my coloring.

The frames are from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment flag is from Top Dog Dies. The sequins are from Craftin' Desert Divas.

Imagine That! Digis by Kris has a month-long challenge in the Creative Playground.  This month, the theme is "fancy folds".  Come join the fun!  Check out the fun Imagine That Digi Stamps Facebook group, too, where there's another Facebook challenge.

A huge thank you to Kristy Breach and Lisa Decosse for this opportunity!

Christmas & Friends - for the 12 Months of Christmas

Can it really be the middle of the month already?  Do I say this every month?  Well, it's October 15th today, so it's time for some mid-month inspiration at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  Our optional theme this month is "Time for Giving - card for a child".  Our sponsors this month is Imagine That! Digis by Kris and Lisa Decosse of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

I used a pre-colored digi from the set called Mice Skate, and the sentiment is also from the set. The sentiment says, "Having you for a friend is like Christmas every day of the year!"  Love that!   The peppermint designer paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The card base and layers were all created with Spellbinders dies.  There's a little Timeless Twine and some sequins from Close To My Heart on here to finish off the card.

Come join us at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  Christmas is getting ever closer -- it's time to get serious about the homemade Christmas cards!
