New Catalog Swap

Fellow demonstrator Cathy Hansen organizes a demo only swap for each new catalog that Stampin' Up! puts out. This time its for the new Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration catalog. I struggled with this one as it had to be using items from those new catalogs. I came up with this:

I think it is very "spring-like" don't you? The card base is Daffodil Delight and the first layer is one of the new in-colors that I haven't used yet, Shy Shamrock. The designer series paper is from the new Sale-a-Bration catalog and is called Bloom Impressions. I used Shy Shamrock ink to ink up the stamps from the Grow With Love stamp set (which is also in the new Mini Catalog.) I stamped the mint leaves on it a piece of white paper and then
die cut the label.  I then die cut a separate mint leaves image and mounted it on the label using dimensionals.  The small circle says "grown with love" and once punched out it was mounted using dimensionals. The ribbon is also Shy Shamrock.  The gems are from the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems pack.

I enjoyed using this color more than I thought I would. The other colors in the newest batch of in-colors are very nice and I have used them often. I hadn't tried the Shy Shamrock and I am now asking myself why not.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Mini Catalog Demo Swap Card

I associate with an incredibly talented group of crafty ladies and we do a swap whenever a new catalog appears on the scene.  Here is my card for the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog:

This card is a total case of this card from Laura Milligan.  Card base is Thick Whisper White and I added a layer of Very Vanilla Thick cardstock that was embossed with the Scripty 3D embossing folder.  The dsp is from the Poinsettia Place pack, the ribbon is from the All the Trimmings ribbon combo and the die cuts are from the Poinsettia dies in Gold Foil (flower) and Whisper White (berry sprays).  I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Whisper White and used my Lovely Labels punch on the ends.  The addition of the Gold Glitter enamel dots topped things off.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

2020-2021 Annual Catalog Swap - Alternative

I knew I wouldn't come up with the final card until I had tried some more colors and dsp combinations.  Here is another:

This time, I combined my original idea for the swap with the layout for the Stamp Camp North card and came up with this one.  The card base is Terracotta Tile with a layer of Bumblebee.  I then added a layer of white which was stamped in Terracotta Tile with a sentiment from Ornate Thanks and embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  I then layered a piece of Ornate Garden dsp on a piece of Bumblebee and added it to the front of the card.  The sunflower base is a piece of dsp from the Birthday Bonanza dsp pack over which I layered a sunflower outline die cut from gold foil.  I added a punched piece of gold glimmer cardstock for the center of the sunflower. This won't be the final version as I need to substitute a different dsp for the sunflower base as the paper is retired now.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

2020-2021 Annual Catalog Swap

There is a local group of demonstrators that I am friends with and they are having a swap using items from the new catalog.  I made a couple samples with the set I chose, (Celebrating Sunflowers) but I am not sure which one I want to use:

DH likes the middle one, but I am still on the fence!  The card base on all three is Night of Navy as is the larger label and the sunflower cut out.  The dsp used is from the Flowers for Every Season designer series paper pack.  The larger label was cut out from the Tasteful Labels dies and the white sentiment piece was created using the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.  The sentiment is from Ornate Thanks and was stamped with Night of Navy ink.  The embossed piece is the new in color Misty Moonlight and it was embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder.  I added a white mat after making the top one and I do like it better.  I punched out a 3/4" circle from a scrap piece of silver glimmer paper.  I added rhinestones to the sentiment and now I just have to decide if this is the card I want to use and if so, which one!  This is a fun stamp and die combination with lots of potential so I might just keep experimenting!  Cards are not due until the end of June.  I have to make 20 or so and so the supply of dsp is also important.  I have more coming in my first order since the catalog went live and I hope it gets here soon!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Convention Swaps - Part 1

I have tons of swaps from Convention to share but I didn't want to overwhelm you all with them all at once.  Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing a few at a time so you will have something to look forward to.  I'll also be posting more sailing pictures (once the rain stops and we can actually get out sailing again).

Here's the first batch of swaps:

There are so very many talented paper crafters out there!  I actually brought one project with me to complete while I'm sailing.  I prepped everything and just need to assemble it.  I'll share that with you soon too, so be sure to come back and visit.

Convention Swap Cards

I am participating in a card front swap at the Stampin' Up! convention this year organized by the Sudsol group (Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing On Line -  see the link in the sidebar to find out how to get a trial membership).  Here is my card for this swap:

I am also participating in another organized swap with some talented gals who will be swapping first layers (5 1/4 x 4 cards).  Here is my card for that swap:

I think this layer would look great on either Strawberry Slush or Pistachio Pudding don't you?

If you want details on any of the product used on either of these cards, just shoot me an email (link in the sidebar) or leave me a comment and I will let you know what I used.

I am getting so excited about going to Convention this year.  This is the 25th anniversary of Stampin' Up! and I expect that the company will outdo itself for it's demonstrators this year.  Watch for updates next week and hopefully I'll be sharing some fun pix and some of the great swaps that I have received.

Front Range Stampers Swap

Last night was the monthly meeting of the Front Range Stampers.  I can't tell you how much fun these gals are and how talented as well.  Here is my swap card:

This card features a new stamp set called Flower Shop with also has a coordinating punch called Pansy.  So much fun to play with.  I used a new sentiment from a new hostess set called Simply Sketched and punched and layered using the Large Oval punch layered on a Scallop Oval.  The card base is Daffodil Delight and the flowers were stamped using Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Melon Mambo.  This card also features some of the new washi tape that SU is offering in this new catalog.  It's called Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape and it makes decorating your projects a breeze!

Front Range Stampers 3d Swap

Tomorrow night is the monthly meeting of the Front Range Stampers.  This month's theme is 3d!  I saw this on gorgeous scissor charm on the Inking Idaho blog and knew immediately that I wanted to raid my jewelry making supplies and make some of these for my swap.

I sure hope the girls like them!  I'll be back Tuesday with some pix of the other swaps from our meeting.

Thanks for visiting!
