Traveler's Notebook - Love this life!

I decided, based on past TN's that it's not a good idea
for me to have photos on both sides.
Therefore, in the midst of the this TN that has been
going on for awhile, I'm changing
it up to have embellishments on the left, photos on the right.
And shake it all around.
😂
Also, I have run out of 4x6 photo paper (gasp I know)
BUT I have a ton of 5x7 so......
It's been interesting working with that size.
Below is a series of fun photos that me and my pal Christine
did looking for that ONE photo that doesn't make
one look goofy.
As you can see it took awhile and since we look goofy
anyway, why not roll with it.
I printed the photos 1.9 square to get them all in and
really like how the series turned out.
You can almost see the fun transparency which says Seriously LOL.

Using up my stash of project life cards is going really well.

Love the sentiment on this card and the old fashioned lady
and her little bouquet and buttons I fussy cut from a tag.

We had a lovely Labor Day with family at Ocean Beach.

Good food and lots of fun.

Of course one can't be in NJ without having pizza - like a lot.
Nobody does it better.
Love the thin cracker like crust - one can eat more.
Project life card fussy cut to the rescue again.
We didn't do much sightseeing but we did get to Twin Lights.
Very cool.

Mixed Media - Solo'd

Favorite eldest son is a daredevil, adrenaline junkie, and all
around crazy....
He just passed his test on jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
and landing in one piece so now he can rock
the 'chute all by himself.
Sigh.
Lots of prayers going on...
Just sayin....
Anyhoo, proud of him, love that he pursues his passions.
He also rocks the camera too.

Tim Holtz, watercolors, spicy chicken, ephemera,
my art stencil, studio calico, unknown stuff (sorry).

Music to my Ears

Using Pink Fresh and a snapcatch from
instagram - a fun, sort of girly page evolved.
There's even journaling there - no need to add more.
I whacked the 12x12 down to 8.5x11 because
that is one of the sizes I am using now.
I have used this size intermittently before because
I really love all sizes and hate to be limited in my choices.
But...
Again, a photo of Annie and I scrapping her photos
in the little albums I made for her
and Owen - the background (see arrow)
is playing his saxaphone.
And as you can see it wasn't a pleasant sound.
However, who doesn't love a sax and some music
to scrap by LOL.
Journaling by dad: When you start learning to play the saxaphone
you are more Goose than KennyG.

Took me a minute to get that.
But I gots it now!

Title is a mix of QK Spicy Chicken and Studio Calico alphas.

Black & White monochromatic look

Keeping it real simple on this one.
A photo I took, and developed myself, back in the day
 of my favorite eldest son
snoozing.
For some reason, the black laser cut paper was
whacked down to 6x12 so another piece in my
stash forever is now on a page.
I used it to cover those dumb doilies on the paper
that I had no idea what to do with.
Win-win.
How adorable is that.
Used some of Tim Holtz words because
they covered it all, broke out
my Quikutz Spicy Chicken alphas for the title.
I really need to use them more....
I did use that blue bow mostly because I liked it
but it was the only one that color remaining so.......
The flourish under "dream" is also a Quiktuz die - woohoo!

That baby boy just turned 36 😐😮💗.

Transparencies on a page

I actually built this page without a photo in mind.
I started with the 12x12 transparency overlay
that is soooo pretty, then
backed it on a cream colored card stock  with my
tiny attacher and that cream color
gave it a boldly soft look.
Then I began to build some layers for a photo mat
that in the back of my mind support a
4x6 photo or smaller.
I didn't know when I'd ever use that adorable cat
from My Mind's Eye so there it is
actually adding a bit of whimsey to the page.
I mixed up the kraft flowers with some Spare Parts
flowers - and love how they layered together.
Then I had this 4x6 transparency rolling around for awhile
and so glad I finally got to use it to cover
the photo which is a photo of photo from back in the day
so it helped cover some things.
Attaching it with a tiny staple.
Love that transparency and it totally rocks the b&w photo
of Nick and I from waaaay back.
The title is from QK Spicy Chicken and
I'm glad to get back in using my die cuts again.

Nana's yard...

I found the paper I wanted to use but I had to show you the "B" side.
Its very colorful and has some glitter going on and when I turned it over the "A" side totally blew me away. How completely different they are to be on the same page.
So to speak.
Can we say STASH!!!
Its seriously cool paper that doesn't get any better than that really.
 Especially for a heritage page.
I couldn't make paper as neat as this.
You can't see it in the light but there is purple going on in there. Hence, the purple accents.
I found this photo in the wayback box of course and its meeeeee!!!
Maybe at eighteen months old since the date indicates my brother's birth month and year.
I had to figure out who was playing ball with me and I at first thought it was my Uncle Dave - my dad's youngest brother, but he is only 7 years older than me and this young boy looked a bit older/bigger.
So I opened the ole family tree and found my Uncle Jack was about 10 years older than me.
Bingo. Went with Uncle Jack.
I'm kinda bummed the title is hard to find in the photo but it looks good in real life.
I broke out the die cut machine and made the title with QK spicy chicken.
Love that font and used the gray because it worked well with the page.
Should've used a bit darker gray for photographing. LOL.
I found a bill of lading I purchased during a "junking foray".
Love using stuff like that. Its the PA railroad and Edison Light Company.
I then broke out my new smoochies that are in the nail polish bottle and painted
some plain textured butterflies (from April) purple and used some
gray paint to outline them.
I also happend to have some BG ledger paper, doodle bug and the washi is perfect.
Got carried away with the twine.
