Our Anniversary

Hello Crafty Friends!

April 5th was our 28th wedding anniversary.  We spend a lovely weekend in the beautiful Monterey Bay area.  I love our beautiful coastline.  The coastal drive from Half Moon Bay down to Carmel is gorgeous and we had perfect weather.

I love this picture of the lone cypress tree on 17 mile drive.  Way back when I was
young a great uncle of mine who was an artist painted this
tree as a mural on my grandparents living room wall.  I always
thought it was so cool!
Here is a cute little card I made my hubby.  I couldn't wait to get this stamp set from The Stamps of Life because for the few weeks previous and up to our anniversary we had joked about going together like (blank) and (blank).  (You can fill in the blanks.) I kept saying Peanut butter and jelly.  Well then I saw the stamp set we were getting were about peanut butter and jelly and couldn't wait to get it to make this card. LOL!  Literally got it the day before we left.

pb&j2enjoy and the matching die set.
I masked the sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed my share today.  Until next time...

Elf on the Shelf...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I could hardly wait to show you these.  LOL!  My daughter has the best sense of humor.

She went as Elf on the Shelf to our cousins Christmas party.  The kids loved it!  We named her Kandy Kane.

Merrell Down & Dirty 2012

Helloooo Crafty Friends!!

What a very eventful and exciting weekend we had.  Brady had 2 runs this weekend.  One for his High School Cross Country team on Saturday.  He ran 3 miles with the Varsity team.  His coach hasn't posted the time on that one so I have no idea how he did.  ???

And on Sunday he ran the Merrell Down & Dirty Mud Run...WOW!!!  He was AWESOME!!!  He has been looking forward all year to this run.  He ran it last year in the 5K category and worked all year to compete in the 10K category and boy did it pay off.  We are so proud of him!  He is proud of himself as well.  Stuck to his goals all year long.  He didn't even let his broken wrist slow him down.  :)

He place 2nd out of 38 in his age group 13-17 and...

5th out of 960 Overall in the 10K!!!!!
WOO HOO!!!!

Here at the start.  His group was the second group to take off.
This is one of the reasons why we are so proud...the first group of 44 to start were
military and public safety personnel and he passed them up.
WOW!!!  Amazing right?!
And they're off!
We didn't know it at the time, but he is most likely down there somewhere.  :) This is about halfway through
the course.  There were many obstacles we didn't get to see prior to this and right after,
but he said they were really tough.  They are actually running through the lake at this point.
These are the obstacles we get to see from the main area.
This was new to him this year.
This obstacle is wet and soapy.  Very difficult to do when
you are exhausted, but at this point there is only one left to do....

And that is to get muddy!!!!!

5th Place!!!!
WOO HOO!!!!

His cousin Erica was waiting at the finish line!!
Blaine - 5th out of 38 in his age group and 65th overall out of 2201 5K
Erica - 3rd out of 179 in her age group and 158th out of 2201 5K
Bryce - 5th out of 9 in the barefoot division 195th out of 2201 5K
Brady - 2nd out of his age group and 5th overall out of 960 10K
Morgan - 64th out of 179 in her age group and 1085 out of 2201 5K

Here is Brady all cleaned up.  And very happy as you can see...he hardly ever smiles.  :)

On the podium!  2nd place!!!

Here is his award.  Congratulations Brady we are so very
proud of you!!!! <3 <3 <3

Dad is sooo proud!!!  (Mom is too!) We just don't have a pic
of us yet.  They took a professional one of us but I haven't got
the link yet.  :)

A most wonderful surprise...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I just had to share with you this lovely quilt that one of my dearest friends and EGHS Drill Team parent (GO HERD!) made for me.  Mind you I haven't coached since 2008, but I love that we all have kept in touch all these years.

Several months ago she posted on facebook that the 5 first people to comment on her post she would make something for.  Being the smart A that I am I did.  (I never in a million years thought she would take me seriously.)  And I totally forgot about it.  LOL!   So a few weeks ago she posted on her fb page, that she had a present for me and the other 4 that commented on her post.  I immediately responded because I was curious to know what she did.  She is a very crafty person like me.  :)

Well here is what she did!!!!  I am still overjoyed and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

She recreated all the our T-shirts over the years and included our Disneyland trip group photo.  (Wow, that waterfall isn't there anymore.)

What GREAT memories I have from my times as the coach of these lovely ladies.  I can't even tell you how old they make me feel right now.  LOL!  I am still in touch with most all of them.  :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TAMA for this beautiful quilt.  I will cherish it always!

Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I can't believe I never got these pics up of my parents "50th Anniversary" dinner.

There anniversary is the same day as my husbands birthday...I mean exactly the same day!  LOL!  ;)  They went back to Tennessee to visit my moms family, so we celebrated when they got back to town.

We have a wonderful little Italian place here in town call Vinces that has been here for as long as I can remember.  They were so generous and let us have the little family gathering in there fireplace room.  It was a very beautiful area.  (No charge, btw.)  And they let us decorate and have a cake table.  :)

The cake made by the wonderful Kristine!

The centerpieces!

One of the many gifts was a photo of them cutting
their wedding cake.  One of my favorite
pics of them when the were sooo young.  :)

My brother, me, dad, mom and my sister.

My hubby, me, dad, mom, sister and brother in law.

Just missing one of the grandkids (the oldest one) she lives
in So CA now and couldn't make it up.

Cheer's to the Happy Couple!!

Here is a closer look of the centerpiece I made.  It has
little LED lights in the glass.  Looked really pretty in
person, but couldn't get a good camera shot.  :(

 Have a great day!
