NEW FEBRUARY ODBD SETS AVAILABLE NOW!

Kelley has the three BRAND NEW SETS available NOW in her store!!! Make sure to stop by and grab your favorites!

Name Our Puppy Blog Candy!

Ok, our puppies opened their eyes last weekend and I just barely had some time to take a picture. They are growing and getting super alert and it's been difficult trying to take a good still photo of them! I had to hold her while my husband took the picture and you can tell she didn't look happy! LOL! Her nose won't stay pink, it is finally getting some black pigment and will be all black.

So here's what we need from you all! None of us can come up with a name for her that we can all agree on so we're leaving it in your trusty and creative hands :). Some information about our sweet puppy:

* First off, she's a GIRL!

* She is mostly white

* She has brown ears, a brown patch over her right eye

* Her tail has three colors...brown, black and the tip is white.

*Her parents' names are Daisy and Samson (a.k.a. Sammy)

We can't figure out her personality yet because all she does is nurse, sleep and potty most of the time!

The person that gives us the PERFECT name for her will win this BLOG CANDY! You'll get:

* Making Memories Slice crafting apron

* Pink Papery Studios acrylic stamp set

* Simply Sista's Scented Red Hots bottle

* Robin's Nest Dew Drops

* Angel Wings Shimmerz

* Changito wood mounted stamp

* Studio G acrylic stamps

* 3 bottles of Ranger paper glazes in Matte, Crackle and Glossy

A winner will be selected once we agree on which name we choose for her. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

*****Make sure to Subscribe to my blog or Follow it to make sure you know when a winner has been selected and so I can contact you.*****

CPS#100 Contest and ODBD sneak peek #3!

I made this card for the Card Positioning System contest (CPS#100) and I had a difficult time trying to figure out how to interpret the sketch for the stamps I used. After some tweaking this is what I came up with. I used the ODBD set called Keep My Lamp Burning and it is a gorgeous set! If you like lighthouses then this is the set for you! It will be released Feb. 1 so stop by Our Daily Bread Designs!

I cut out the circle and circle shadow with my Cricut machine then ran it through my Cuttlebug using a small rectangle Nestabilities die. I stamped the scripture on another circle piece and mounted it behind the first set of circles to create a little "shadow box".

Mojo Monday Challenge, ODBD sneak peek #2 and CHA!

I just recently found the Mojo Monday card challenge site and I gotta tell ya...I'm loving the sketches! This card is for the Week 71 card sketch:

As I said in my previous post, I ADORE this upcoming Our Daily Bread Designs set called May God Hold You. This and two other new sets will be released Feb. 1 so make sure to stop on by and grab yours because I know they will be flying off Kelley's shelves!!! Here is my card:

I watercolored the leaves and added Celery Shimmerz and glossy glaze over them, then popped a few of them out for dimension. I colored the center of the medallion with Spiced Cider Shimmerz, added Platinum Stickles all around and a flatback pearl in the center. I popped out the medallion, too. I stamped the same medallion on clear shrink plastic to create the charm hanging from the bow. I've also been enjoying the Ornare corners and Prism cardstocks lately so I incorporated those as well! The Shimmerz, Ornare templates and Prism cardstocks can be found at the ODBD store :).

Winter CHA was amazing!! What was even MORE amazing were the women from Our Daily Bread Designs....thank you Kelley, Judy, Jane and Amy for your friendship and knowledge of the big, wide world of stamping!!!

Our Daily Bread Designs February Sneak Peeks!

I am thoroughly excited that Our Daily Bread Designs is releasing three brand new sets February 1!! You will looooooove the new sets as they will feature lilies, a lighthouse and Irish blessings!!

I had so much fun working with the sets! As soon as Kelley mailed them out I was stalking our mail carrier...LOL! Needless to say as soon I got them I ran to my craft room and started to play.

For the first card I used the I Am The Way set which is geared towards the blessings of Easter. I splashed on alcohol inks to color the flowers. I will have a tutorial up for that sometime this week so be on the look out for that! I also based my card on the SCS212 challenge using this sketch:

When Kelley showed us the May God Hold You set we were all drooling over it! I am not Irish (as if that was hard to figure out! LOL!) but I have always loved this Irish blessing that I used as the main image. I just tore the paper in the middle to create a frame to "expose" the sentiment. I created this for the CC203 Breezy Pacific Garden challenge over at SCS. Please visit the rest of the ODBD DT's blogs to see their beautiful creations! Hop on over to my blog again tomorrow as I will have a slide show up of my trip to the Winter CHA 2009 convention!

I'm going to CHA with Our Daily Bread Designs!!

The Winter CHA convention is this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center and I'll be there with Kelley and a few of my fellow DTs...I'm SUPER excited!!! I can't wait to see what new products are going to unveiled and to meet everyone!

For now, while I'm trying to contain my excitement, here is a card I did for the BVC09 challenge over at SCS using the ODBD set He Is Risen. I stamped the scripture with black StazOn ink on acetate then brushed on some off-white acrylic paint on the back. I mounted the acetate over a piece of decorative paper...easy peasy! I also used an Ornare corner template which can also be found at ODBD HERE.

ODBD will also be releasing brand new sets for February so please come back to see my sneak peeks as well as the rest of the DT...you won't be disappointed because the sets are just GORGEOUS!

Gold Rush!

I made this card using paper I found at Michael's. Well...actually, I was kidnapped by ninjas and FORCED to shop at Michael's. This was my story to the ODBD DT and I'm sticking to it! LOL!

The gold leaf outlines on this paper was calling my name and of course, those horrible ninjas made me get the gold baubles and gold organza ribbon to tie everything together...I was FORCED, remember?!

Card Recipe:
Stamp: Our Daily Bread Designs Lift Up Our Hands set
Paper: DCWV, Sandylion (gold leaf paper), SU Very Vanilla, TAC Speckled cs
Ink: Versamark
Supplies: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nestabilities, flatback pearls, gold baubles, Sunflower Shimmerz, Antique Linen distress ink, black ep, gold organza ribbon, sewing machine

I interrupt my regularly scheduled cards for some CUTENESS!!

Our dog Daisy gave birth to four puppies on Jan. 10! Unfortunately, even with all my efforts to try and save one, one died of dehydration. The good news is that the remaining three cuties are thriving!

This is the one we are keeping :). When she opens her eyes I will host a Name This Girl Pup contest and the person who gives us the perfect name for her will get some blog candy! So, get your thinking caps on!!

This is a boy and he looks like Momma Daisy :)

My niece calls him Chewy and she is still trying to convince her parents to let her have him!

Sadly, this is the pup that died. We called him Moo-Moo because of his cow spots. I told my sons that their Tata now has a puppy to play with in Heaven.

So please stay tuned for my Name This Girl Pup contest and blog candy!

He Is Risen & Joseph's Coat Reversed Tutorial

I woke up around 2:30am this morning and felt like making a card...and so I did! I used the ODBD January set called He Is Risen, because, let's just face it, I LOVE ODBD! I bet you liked that one, huh Kelley?!
This time I wanted to use an old technique called Joseph's Coat, but with a bit of a twist. I hope you all will give this a try!

Gather up your materials:
*stamps
*glossy cardstock
*3 coordinating ink pads
*black ink pad
*Versamark or embossing pad
*clear embossing powder
*brayer
*sponges (not pictured)
*anti-static bag

Stamp the image you want as the focal point in black ink.

Take your two light colored ink pads (SU Positively Pink and Barely Banana in this case) and starting with your lightest color sponge it over and around your focal image. Do the same thing with your next color, making sure to leave some white spaces.

Rub the anti-static bag over the glossy cardstock.

Ink up your background image with Versamark and stamp it in the center of your focal image.

Pour clear embossing powder over it.

Heat until embossing powder melts.

Ink up your brayer with your darkest ink color (I used SU Certainly Celery) and cover the entire piece of glossy cardstock.

Let ink dry then buff away excess ink on background image with tissue.

Complete your card :).
