Recessed window cards and blog candy update!

I've been trying to do the SCS challenges everyday and my housework is suffering because of it! LOL! That didn't matter because when I came across this SCS challenge I knew I wanted to give it a try. I love the depth going inward and I immediately thought of using an older ODBD (which is still available, by the way) called Path of Life. Kelley had shown me a card that used a Thomas Kincade stamp using Flower Soft and I fell in love with it. So here is my Thomas Kincade-ish rendition where I incorporated the CC204 Boldy and Brightly Go color challenge over at SCS (color pallete were SU's Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac, Gable Green and Pink Passion). I was able to use all the colors, with the greens and purples used as pale accents in the coloring of the scene.

For my second card I wanted to make it look like a window and so I used a scripture from the newly released ODBD set Keep My Lamp Burning and an older one called Sing To The Lord.

  1. Lorelie, beautiful cards as always. I tried to make one of these and I was able to do it, but I didn't like the fact that the front of the card was raised. Can you take a pic of your last one (like the window) that's what I was trying to do - from the side so I can see it? You can email to me at Prewitt77@sbcglobal.net. Your card front looks flat on the front around the edges and that is what I couldn't achieve.

By the way, thank you for referring Jami for watermarks. I am having her design my blog. I am so excited to get it up and running. I would like to be on a Design Team, but I can't even think about it until my blog is up and I establish more pics in SCS.
