In The Name of the `Father`?

Just a short post to touch base. I hope everyone in Blogland is keeping warm and cosy.

Something on the news really got to me today and I can`t stop thinking about it. At one end of the media spectrum, we have the Fairytale engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. At the other end, in the real world, news of yet another senseless and inhuman murder of a young child at the merciless hands of the animal who dared to call himself a `father`. I got so incensed by the news report that I switched the tv off before I could hear anymore details about her brutal death but suffice to say how the little soul must have suffered. It wasn`t just the one incident, it happened over a period of time. If anything about the case could be worse, it would be that  her mother `turned a blind eye` to what was happening to her child who was blonde and beautiful, just like my Grandaughter. What I would like to ask is this? How can this be allowed to happen? Were there no other family members, friends, neighbours, social workers who could have intervened to safe this child? It`s all beyond my comprehension but tonight I will be praying for the little angel`s soul. Rest in Peace Bonnie Lass.

  1. Hi Nana. It defies all understanding, doesn't it? Makes me feel so helpless. Lots of love, Amanda xxx

  2. I feel the same way too - it's heartbreaking that a child couldn't turn to her own mother, heartbreaking that anyone could feel hatrid towards such a beautiful innocent child and heartbreaking for all of us to know that others didn't intervene.

  3. There are some evil people in the world. We must console ourselves with the thought that it is such a minority, most people are good honest citizens.
Thank you for popping over. I must say that I was so delighted with all my swap gifts from you I can only imagine that Amanda will be too!
Daughter is make a slow recovery, we visit the hospital again this week to find out if she needs an operation to pin the bones together.Fingers crossed that it will mend without the op.

  4. It beggars belief that so much cruelty can be inside one person and for him to show no remorse is shocking. The mother should be damned for all eternity...How can a child be so unprotected by the person that gave birth to her and should have saved her from such suffering. The whole thing makes me shudder and despair....the world is a darker place these days and I sometimes feel a bit shallow being preoccupied with cushions and sewing and Cath Kidston etc.I guess we have to scatter kindness wherever and whenever we can.
    Much love to you.

  5. I didn't hear about this story but that is really sad. Too many people just turn a blind eye so they don't have to get involved. It's so sad.
