A roof over your head
A warm plate of food

Have you

lately?

Sometimes,
it helps it to see them written
in black and white...

I'm enjoying the rest of the long weekend
I hope you are doing the same....

Procrastination...

Sometimes I just feel
like kicking my own butt...
but then I realize that
that will take some dangerous moves
that I'm not willing to try anymore...

The point is that it took me
6 years to work on this...

6 years!!!

I finally got my act together,
got to work
and only....

it was finished... and ready to be taken to Country Roads.

4 Hours!!!
How many of these could I have made in 6 years???
Too many to count...
Enough to depress me even more!

White Wednesday

To do list...
Schedules...
Inspiring Words...
Grocery lists...
Appointments...
Menus...

When there is so much to remember...

that's why a big blackboard
is definitely better!....

I'm glad I worked on this piece last week because
Mrs. Heat decided to visit Southern California and she is not going anywhere...
The pumpkins, crows and witches that have been embellishing
stores and homes for a couple of weeks now
are totally confused...

In the meantime,
we drink lots of water,
stay away from cooking
and bring the fans out of retirement!

Seasons...

I seem to have trouble changing my seasonal decor.
My home has a summery look all year round,
whites,
pale blues
and hints of yellow here and there.

The occasional pumpkin is displayed for a few days
and
for about 3 weeks each year
the seashells around the house
share their space with the Christmas decorations,
but that is as far as I go.

I'm not a Fall person,
that means I have to dig down
in order to come up with some Fall decorations for my space at Country Roads.
This week will be dedicated to that, I promise....

Winter is an etching,
spring a watercolor,
summer an oil painting
and autumn a mosaic of them all.

S is for....

Sign...

Simple Sign!

Bold and graphic...
So different from what I usually do.
I think my Graphic Design Class inspired me a lot more than I imagined.
I enjoy the change.
I like to be inspired!

What would we do...

without paint???

Well, for example, we would have a sturdy-oak-round

pedestal-boring table....

Instead of a fab-chic-stylish

gotta-have-it table!!

Isn't paint wonderful?

Opposites attrack!

Woman does not live by white alone!...

If you are looking to add a bit of drama to your decor, or if you are trying to compromise with your Hubby (sometimes all white can be too much for him!) why not incorporate some black pieces?
Black is sharp, and many times adds weight to a room that can feel a little too airy...Check these possibilities out...

Black, vintage wicker chair, white cushions, black footstool...just a cozy spot to read a book and enjoy your fave tea!

Handsome, clean lines and dark. No, not the Surfer!!...the bookcase....

How about a black hutch? will look fab with the white dinning room table and chairs. Displays white china and ironstone beautifully!

And here's the totally unexpected: black side table, ironstone dish, roses and animal print!...The best part: it works!!

Have a creative, unexpected week end!!
