New Challenge at Less Is More!

HI friends!
It's February which means Birthday Celebrations at Less Is More! That's right, Less Is More celebrates it's 7th Anniversary, woot woot! We have 2 sponsors this month, one for each birthday challenge. Along with sponsor prizes there will be surprise prizes too so do play along for a change to win! All the details are in our challenge blog HERE. This current challenge is sponsored by Uniko and Uniko owner and designer Bev is joining us as guest designer. And guess what... In addition to that, previous LIM DT members are joining us too! So there's lots and lots and lots of inspiration in the challenge blog. Welcome back Chrissie, Esther, Jen and Sarah G

Now let's get onto our theme, "Music", and my DT cards.

Card 1 You Rock
(above)

This simple card was made to encourage a friend facing challenging, exciting work stuff this week! I was inspired by both the colors and photo in the current Calling All Sistahs Encouragement challenge. The large Rock-word is by CASual Fridays and to maintain a lot of white space I chose a very small You-word from MFT. I added extra interest with markers and white gel pen and also did some stenciling to spice the card up! This is a masculine card (the recipient is masculine enough to take the floral word!) so no bling or sparkle or other embellies this time. I did splattering with blue perfect pearls mixed with water though so there is some moderate shine!

I'd also like to enter:

(all "rock stars" are to swoon over, the real big ones and the more "mortal" ones too!)

Card 2 Merry Christmas
(below)

In this card I used designer paper that has a Christmas carol sheet music and lyrics printed on it. I've used my favorite snowflake die (Joy crafts) and added score lines for extra interest. The sentiment is heat embossed with white. I think the layout is pretty much an old Lim sketch and also Nonni + square piece of card + Joycrafts snowflake is not a new idea either but oh well... You can repeat nice ideass, can't you?!? At least this time the snowflake is not in the middle of the square like before! :)

After taking the photo and looking at it from my laptop screen I started staring that something in the sheet music looks a bit off to me... Why is this melody written in such weird way... And then I took the card in my hand and the thing is I've glued the paper upside down!! So the lyrics and everything is upside down!!! I think I have to send this to someone who doesn't pay much attention to detail!!! This is extra hilarious because I'm a musician and read sheet music every day -now we know I can't do it when I don't get paid! ;)

With this card I'd like to join:

(snowflakes are pretty chilled, aren't they!)

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you playing along at Less Is More!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
I'm back with a DT post for Less Is More. Last LIM challenge for 2017! I'm so happy to be part of this team and even more happy that I get to continue next year... We have great challenges planned for you!

Our last challenge for 2017 is a sketch:

I'll try to keep this post short and sweet because of the many card photos included, I don't want to tire you out! :)

Card 1
(above)
In my first card I've stretched the sketch and created an A2 vertically folded card. I've used one of my favorite floral stamps, it's by Woodware and I love it so much! In the stamp the flowers are actually in a vase but I've only stamped the top portion of the image. I used black Versafine for stamping and heat embossed it with clear powder before water coloring the images with ZIG markers and an old Wink of Stella pen -the coloring has a beautiful shine to it but unfortunately the photo hasn't really captured it. No embellies in this one although I have used black Nuvo drops on top of the black dots that are included in the stamped image.

With this card I'd like to join:

(my 2nd entry)

Cards 2 & 3
These are last minute Christmas makes with die cut snowflakes and heat embossed Finnish sentiments on vellum! The first one is sort of a "mini-version" of the sketch because I used the sketch on a tag. I glued two identical snowflakes on the tag but only left the top one of them hang outside the tag, the bottom one is trimmed down. The second card is a super quick white on white card with some glitter details. Horrible to photograph! :)

I did manage to keep this quite short, didn't I! :) Thanks for popping by and I'd love to see you joining us! This challenge will run for two weeks so you'll have plenty of time. The month of December is sponsored by one of our regular sponsors, Happy Little Stampers and as always, the LIM ladies have fantastic inspiration for you in our challenge blog HERE and most likely some extra cards in their blogs too. :) Don't miss any of the fun, join us! Happy crafting!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for our new challenge at Inkspirational. We are inspired by this fun photo:

I chose glittery cold, black and white from the color scheme of the photo and made a card celebrating Christmas -they are celebrating something in the photo for sure too! I've used my favorite snowflake die (Joy Crafts), MFT fishtail banner die + CAS-ual Fridays sentiment. A very quick and simple CAS card but I do like the end result, this looks quite festive! The sentiment "Joy to the world" is a bit hard to read in the photo, all that shine was a bit too much for my poor old camera (just when I wrote on Thursday that I'm in better terms with it finally...).

I hope to see you playing along! Please check all the DT work HERE, you'll surely be inspired!

I'd like to play along:

AAA Cards: Christmas

CAS on Friday: Christmas

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi guys!
It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More and we have a recipe for you: Let It Shine! Very handy for making festive Christmas cards. :) Our blog is filled with fabulous DT inspiration, don't miss any of the fun, click HERE. Our sponsor in November is Dies to Die for -play along for a chance to win!

I keep being a bit overloaded with work so only one card for you this week. I've die cut an opening to white card stock with my favorite snowflake die (Joy Crafts) and backed the white card with blue glitter card. I've attached one blue rhinestone to the middle of the snowflake and stamped a Christmas sentiment (the Greeting Farm) and then attached my panel to a card base. Super simple! :) I do love how this turned out and might make a couple more of these for quick Christmas cards to send abroad -this design is so light it can be sent with the cheapest postage! :) There's something I like about not using the snowflake die cut but using the negative window. This is such a fab die!

Happy crafting everyone, I look forward seeing what you create for us!

My First Post as Less Is More Design Team Member!

Hello friends!

I have extremely exciting and fun news to share with you! I am one of the three happy crafters joining the Less Is More design team from today on. The other two are

and I'm sure Izzy and Trina are as excited as I am!  Less Is More is one of the greatest and most popular CAS challenges around and I can't describe to you how happy I am to join this team. I've been happy dancing several times since knowing about it! When I begun blogging I was still struggling to find my style and exactly Less Is More Challenge made me realize I'm mostly a CAS girl! And now I'm part of this dream team myself... It's hard to believe it!

Now let's take care of my new DT duties and tell you about the current challenge! :)

Our challenge this time is to use the color combo of grey and yellow. One of the LIM DT members, Anita, is having her birthday tomorrow and she has had the honor of choosing the color combo for you. Happy Birthday Anita!

My first card, above, is made with stamps by STAMPlorations (flower + hello-word) and My Favorite Things (friend-word). I used a simple straight paper mask for masking off the bottom of the flower stamp: I wanted the flowers to "grow" out of the sentiment like the sentiment was a vase or something so I wanted the bottom edge of the flowers to be very sharp. After stamping I covered the flowers by masking off the top third of the card and brushed grey ink to the bottom of the card. I then colored the sentiment and flowers with Copics and added white gel pen accents to the flowers. The friend-word is heat embossed with white powder on black card. This was originally supposed to be a one layer but let's just say stamping can be hard sometimes -even if you have the MISTI! ;)

My second card, below, is a Christmas card with a Finnish Christmas sentiment. I wanted to see if I could make this non-traditional Christmas color combo work for Christmas and I like the results! I chose very pale yellow and very dark grey card + heat embossed the sentiment with silver powder -it's kind of grey, isn't it! The star of this card is the die cut snowflake by Joy Crafts. I'm repeating myself, this is an old design from 2 years ago... But it's still pretty! :)

Now it's your turn to share your yellow & grey cards with us! The LIM designers have wonderful inspiration for you in the challenge blog HERE. Don't forget to follow our guidelines and you could win a prize from our May sponsor, Uniko Studios

I'd like to enter my first card to STAMPlorations May CAS challenge

Inspired by Marina

Hi friends!
My good friend Marina is being CASEd at City Crafter Challenge and of course I did not want to miss the opportunity to CASE her myself. Her card gave me so many ideas, I absolutely loved the layout. Here it is:

I followed Marina's layout and colors but switched up the colors by using brown card base and white, die cut snowflakes (inspired by current CASology: Season... I chose the Christmas season).  Before die cutting the snowflakes I adhered stick it- adhesive to my white card and with the help of that this card took no time at all! I love that stick-it product. :) I used a very simple sentiment by MFT to keep my design CAS, those die cut snowflakes do fill most of the card... But since I have no extra layers and my design is so repetitive and simple, I hope I'm still within CAS!

The snowflake die is by Joy Crafts. I've been wanting this die for more than 2 years... I had once received one die cut from somewhere, no idea where, and since making one of my all-time favorite Christmas cards with it (photo of that fave card below) I knew I HAVE TO find the die... And after a lot of detective work I now have it! :)

Anyway friends, I wish you all a happy weekend and a fun May Day if you are celebrating it. Thanks for popping by!

Along with  City Crafter Challenge and CASology I'm entering:
