Sandy Toes New Release with Artful Angel

Hey crafty peeps!  It's the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada and what a beauty it was weather-wise!  I was totally dreaming of the water and sandy beaches when I created this card using the new release "Sandy Toes" stamp set from Artful Angel, available May 25th.

I colored this sweetie with my Prismacolor Pencils on Neenah Desert Storm card stock.  I haven't colored with my pencils in a while.  I'm so glad I did, I thought I was losing my nerve lol.  There's a sneek peek of something else in this project as well!  If you look closely, you might see a layer of a new Artful Angel 6 x 6 patterned paper (think pink!).

Theses new stamps and patterned paper will be available in the Artful Angel shop on May 25th, stay tuned for more inspiration from our wonderful Design Team and Guest Designers in the Facebook Group for Artful Angel.

Above and Beyond with Joy Clair Designs

I have another floral design to share with you today using the Above and Beyond digital stamp set from Joy Clair Designs.

I decided to color this image with a monochromatice color pallette.  I used the E40 colors along with some white Prismacolor pencil to brighten the highlights.  I layered the image over some patterned paper from my stash and added some enamel dots.  Lastly, I printed out a digital sentiment from the same set and popped it up on some dimensional adhesive.

Do you sometimes have a person in mind when you are creating a card or coloring a particular image?  I did with this one.  My daughter had just crashed her car the day before and one of the many things that stuck out for us in this experience was the nice people that came out of their homes to assist her!  In particular, a lady named Linda who heard and saw the crash from her kitchen window and immediately came to my daughter's aid.  My daughter and her friend are fine (the car is another story), don't worry, but they had never been in an accident before and are only in their early 20's.  So, it was an upsetting experience for both of them.  Paige mentioned she would like to give Linda a thank you card for her assistance that day and so this card came out of that situation.  Thank you Linda, you are a godsend :)

Troll Ellie appreciates kindness :)

Hello all from the weirdly warm Northwestern Ontario!  Seriously, it's plus 9 Celsius here today.  That is so weird for us for February!  This is when we would normally be having minus 30 degree weather!  Now, don't get me wrong, I like the warmth, but it also makes me wonder what is coming...

So on that note, I couldn't help but color up a fun and spring themed thank you card for Paper Nest Dolls this week :)  I colored "Troll Ellie" for this card and paired her with some Webster's Pages paper.  I added some die cuts to match and some Nuvo Crystal Drops, and here she is!

You can find the digital stamp version of this image in the online shop at Paper Nest Dolls.

Come and join us for the monthly challenge, you still have time!  The theme is always Anything Goes :)

See you soon!

A Very Happy New Year and some Paper Nest Dolls, and a new challenge :)

Happy New Year everyone!  How did you spend your New Year's Eve?  We spent it with family, which is definitely the best way to go.

It's time for a new challenge at the Paper Nest Dolls, and to start of the new year I have chosen to create using a brand new doll for Valentine's Day!

This is Love Letter Avery:

I colored her using my Copics and Prismacolor pencils, and completed the card using two La La Land dies, ribbon and flowers from my stash, paper from the Webster's Pages "Painted Passport" collection and glitter paper from American Crafts.

I love the way she turned out, she was so much fun to color and create with.

Come and join the challenge, the theme is always anything goes!  The challenge starts today (always the first Monday of the month) and runs till the end of the month, so you have plenty of time to join in!  See you soon :)

To finish the 2016 Paper Nest Dolls year off, I decided to color one of Christine's fabulous Christmas images.  This is Elf Emma with Lights:

I colored her using my Copics and Prismacolor Pencils and completed the card using paper from the Recollections "Say Freeze" collection and some adhesive pearls from my stash.  The sentiment is from my Stamp of Approval box and the stamp set was manufactured by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Feature Fridays: Altenew Hennah Elements

Hi!  I have a new Friday Feature for you for the next few Fridays:)  I have taken Altenew's Hennah Elements stamp and die set and created three different cards.  So for the next three Fridays, I will feature this stamp set.

Here is the first :)

For this card, I first stamped the background with a vine stamp from my stash.  Then I stamped the large flowers and leaves and die cut them out using the matching dies to the stamp set.  I colored them first with my copics and then added shading with my Prismacolor Pencils.  There are no details to add since these wonderful stamps have all the details you need :)  The sentiment is also from my stash and is stamped in Momento Gold and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today, come back next week for another card featuring the Altenew Hennah Elements stamp and die set :)

Friday Feature - Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils

For this week's feature, I have a card created using the Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils.  And I have to tell you, although I am a Prismacolor fan, these were my least favorite of the five sets.  It could very well be because this is also the oldest of the five sets (like 25 years!) however, they did not blend well at all, and I found them very grainy for WC pencils.

This is a very small set, lol, 6 pencils, and I think I used them all here lol.  You can see in the picture the grain-iness of them (is that even a word? LOL!)  However, I stil think the card turned out ok.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up "Really Good Greetings" and the flowers are Hero Arts.

Next week, the last of the WC pencils is Prima, another great one :) See you then!

Traveling Ellie with Paper Nest Dolls

It's challenge time at Paper Nest Dolls!  For this month's challenge I have chosen to create a card with "Traveling Ellie" :)  She is too cute :)

Told you she was cute, lol.  I created a 5x7 card this month which I don't normally do, I usually prefer the 4.25 by 5.5 inch cards.

I created this card using paper from the Studio Calico "South of Market" collections, as well the "Nested Banner" die from Jillian Vance.  The flowers and embellishments are all from my stash.

I colored her using my Copics, Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor Premiere pencils in the following colors:

Skin:  E000
PC927, 939, 1081
Hair:  YR21
PC1034, 942, 943
Clothes:  YG03, YR02, YR24

Magnolia Tulips Thinking of You with Quick Creations

Hello everyone, I have a card for you today for Quick Creations using the Magnolia stamps "Two Tulips", Lawn Fawn's "Scripty Sayings" stamp set and paper from the CC Designs "Pastel my Belle" collection.

I colored this image using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils on hot pressed water color paper.  I love pencils on this paper, it seems to have just the right amount of tooth to it, and the pencils blend just beautifully.

I stamped the tulips and masked them off to be able to stamp them three times in total to look like a row of tulips.

You can find the linked items in Noelle's online shop at Quick Creations.  Come and join in the monthly challenge, there is a new one starting soon!
