Obama Says No to the Broncos and Yes to the Crimson Tide
Senator Hatch is really getting on my last nerve with this crusade of his.
Obama Can Kill The BCS With One Gesture
We all know that the First Fan is not a fan of the Bowl Championship Series, and, in his capacity as an average citizen, supports a playoff system to determine the national champion of college football. Sen. Orrin Hatch, an equally vocal opponent of the BCS, has just given the president a perfect chance to use the informal powers of the president to send a strong message to the NCAA.Hatch, in a letter to the White House, wants both Alabama -- the formal BCS champion -- and Boise State, which also went undefeated, invited to meet with the president. Doing so "will not erase the unfairness of the past," Hatch says, referring to instances in 2004 and 2008 when the University of Utah's football team went unbeaten but did not make into the BCS system. Such a gesture would send a message that America -- in the person of the president -- does not recognize the BCS's ability to determine a champion. Here's Hatch's letter: 2010_01_14_12_05_58.pdf
(Update: the White House won't play. Only Alabama will get the invite.)

Lord I hate Alabama Football
But I guess since I am a loyal SEC person I must root for my evil cousins in the National Championship. A little humor from a Bama fan here.

Does Les Miles Need To Stop Off At Radio Shack Before Playing Bama
Maybe so. He might need to pick up some things.
I am looking at the Sunday post game reactions to the day that was in College football and saw this.
Kiffin also took exception to the fact that headsets for Tennessee coaches were not working before the game. As a result, both sides had to disregard headsets for the game's first series. UT held Alabama's offense to a three-and-out.
"It was just amazing," Kiffin said. "Our kickoff team goes out, everything's working in pregame and about 10 seconds before the opening kick our headsets just happen to go off -- in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Amazing deal. Just like the penalties today. ... Everything was great. We tested everything, came out right before kickoff and all of sudden they don't work. I've seen that before and heard of it before. They have happened to come back at the end of the first series. Then all of a sudden they worked, after our defense wasn't able to get the personnel from upstairs for the whole first series. They happened to come back. It would be just great timing so Coach Saban and their defense would be able to have their headsets."

I regret that I have but one life to give for Tim Tebow
SEC media days meets the Founding Fathers
Tebowgate, Continued! Both Mark Richt and Nick Saban were grilled on the question upon which a world hinges: Who voted for someone other than Tim Tebow for 1st team All-SEC QB? Richt rolled over and admitted voting for Tim Tebow, while Saban-- by far the most adept media-grappler of SEC coaches -- took your feeble punch, spun, and locked it in an armbar in seconds:
"I voted for Tim Tebow ... but really, isn't that what our Founding Fathers fought for? People should be able to vote for whoever they want."

Coach Nick Saban To Play LSU Coach In Movie
LOL.
Oh this will go over well in Bama Land
"I kind of knew once Nick said he'd do it, they'd all jump on board," she said. "I told him, 'You'd better play yourself. If you don't, I'm going to find a short, ugly guy to play you.' You know how vain Nick is. He probably thought about it and said, 'I'd better play myself.'"
Because the film is based on a story that happened five years ago, it did create some awkward moments for a few of the coaches. When Saban recruited Oher he was LSU's coach. He left after the 2004 season for the NFL's Miami Dolphins and now coaches at Alabama, one of the Tigers' fiercest rivals.
On the set at which Saban filmed his last scene for "The Blind Side," his office was littered with LSU memorabilia. There was an LSU game ball, a 2001 SEC championship trophy and reprints of pages from The (Baton Rouge) Advocate newspaper. There was even a replica of the key to the city of Baton Rouge.
Saban, who had just finished his second season with the Crimson Tide, told his Alabama players he would be appearing in the movie as LSU's coach.
Ralph Nelson/Alcon Entertainment Tommy Tuberville says he was comfortable portraying Auburn's coach in "The Blind Side."
"It's a historic event," Saban said. "I told our players at Alabama that it was a historic event and this happened when I was at LSU. I did this in honor of the Tuohys and Michael, even though he didn't come to LSU or Alabama. We have great fans at Alabama. Hopefully, everybody is big enough to understand that this film is documenting a true story."
By the way that will be a great movie. I loved that book!!!
Good for Nick though. I agree it is a important and good movie

Nick Saban On the Coaching Changes in the SEC
I am pretty floored at the "resignation" of Tuberville at Auburn. Coach Saban of Alabama has a few words on "Resignation" as well as what happened at Tennessee and Mississippi State. I think he is right on See Saban Rips Administrators

OBama Win LSU Loses
Not a good week for me :(
Anyway Bama is the Number 1 team and LSU played a lot better than the past few weeks.
I was impressed by our Defense. We just go to get Jarrett Lee to quiting THROWING INTERCEPTIONS.
However we have a young QB what can you do.
I hate losing to Saban and Bama in Tiger Stadium but I feel good about next year. PLus we have a lot to play for this year.
UPDATE-
FG BLOCKED!!!!! WOW OVERTIME!!!
UPDATE II
Lee throws a Interception!!!! We lose Bama Scores
Sickening

Alabama Player Luther Davis Running his Mouth Again (Hate Bama Week)
A little LSU football news. LSU fans might recall the wild recruiting saga of Luther Davis from West Monroe a couple of years back.
Luther never met a reporter that he did not want to talk too and the wildest things did and still do come out of his mouth. I truly think is a classic case of untreated bi polar syndrome.
Luther had committed to LSU. Les Miles like many Coaches has a rule that once you commit you Can make no other campus visits or the offer is taken back. Luther , being the fun guy he is, engaged in a wild plan to get around this. He told the Coaches he was going to a funeral and even signed the funeral visitor book I believe. He then proceeded to go to Bama and visit Satan I mean Saban.
Well in about 5 minutes of his sighting on campus it was on Bama Boards which meant in 10 minutes it was on LSU boards which result in 15 minutes of his public sighting anyone that had Miles phone number was calling his house about the news. Needless to say Miles, nor Coach Shows of West Monroe were pleased.
Anyway Luther has decided to talk again. Miles sort of gets him back if you notice in a subtle way. Link at Davis Runs Mouth, Bad Blood Surfaces In Bama Week; Two Guys Who Will Determine The Game; Hoop Recruiting Takes Step Back courtesy of the Bayou Bengal Blog.
