dancing...

Wow, 3 posts in one day!!! I guess I should post more often, instead of trying to catch up all at once!!

I have a couple of little happy dances to share, one from last week, and one from last night.

I finished my first crochet project for this year... I made a little stroller blanket... it's about 30x36 inches big...  the plan is to send it to my cousin for her little girl, but I'm working on another one right now and if I can finish it in time, I'll send her that one instead.

My other happy dance that I finished off last night is my Freedom SAL by Seba designs.
It was a free pattern, but has since been released as a pattern available to buy by the designer, and the neat thing about it is, is that you get the border design, and all the filling patterns, but you get to fill the boxes in the way you want with the designs you choose.

Here is my version.  I added some beads for some extra bling

I stitched it on 32ct ivory jobelan, using DMC 3799 for the border, and one strand of Waterlilies Cherry for the filling stitches. Not sure of the mill hill bead number, but it matches the thread nicely, a nice deep cherry/burgundy colour

Till next time.... happy stitching

wip updates

Last week I started working on the Freedom SAL by Seba Designs from their facebook page, and this is how far I got with the filling in of the squares...

This week, I decided to pull out one of my other wips, instead of starting something new, and picked up the Home Sweet Home - Sal 2013 by Les Grillles du Maryse, and finished off another block...4 more to go on the big part of this SAL.

I'm not quite sure what I'll be working on for the rest of this week, so it will be a surprise, both for you and me :)

Till next time happy stitching...

tusal time

Well here we are... tusal time or ort report time!  This time I actually have some orts to show!  Not like last month where I showed off a very empty ort jar!

Here is my ort jar for this past month...

I started a new project last night.  It is a blackwork project (SAL) by Seba Designs, from their facebook group page. Here is my progress so far... I'm working on the border right now, and then once it is done I will fill in the squares...

It is called Freedom, and is a free pattern from, as I mentioned, their facebook group.  The borders are set, and you get all the filling patterns, but you get to decide where you would like to put what and also in what colour.

This way everyone in the SAL is/was working on the same project, but yet each person's is different based on their pattern placement and colour choices.

I've decided on using Waterlilies thread in Cherry for my filling stitches.

The one I fell in love with, and the reason I joined the group was done in golds, but I don't have any gold thread  in my stash (hard to believe, I know) other than DMC, so I went with something I had.  Hopefully it will be just as nice... I think it will the colours are much richer in person than the picture.

Till next time.... happy stitching
