Wishing you a Joyful Christmas...

Needed a special Christmas card for an owl aficionado...and used Christmas Card Challenge's photo theme for inspiration...hence the grouping of the 4 owls in a tree shape..than for the WOW factor inside the card...used a window with the reindeer owl peeking out..Love the sparkly red glitter used to emboss the inside sentiment...stamped the snowflakes from one of my fave snowflake sets with Pool Party Ink..Voila!

Deets: All Stampin Up except for the silver wood snowflake, the googly eyes and the pattern papers on the front layer and the inside background layer.

All Out Christmas...

Welcome to my very first first blog hop evah… Decided to try a blog hop to see what it’s all about….and Watercooler Wednesdays’ All Out Christmas captured my attention. This hop  runs from November 17th to the 19th.

Doesn’t matter where you start with this blog hop, as it is circular …so you’ll end up where you started from. If you have just arrived from Heidi Weaver’s  fabulous projects…than have a peek of mine and at the bottom of this post, you’re able to click and go either to the next gal ~ Marie Green to see her wonderful projects or back to the beginning of the blog hop. So grab your favourite latte, egg nog, mulled wine, etc and enjoy the 10 hops along the way!

For inspiration for the upcoming Christmas season, I designed a variety of cards with different Christmas colour combos…one not so traditional combo and another definitely a traditional mix. I’m not much of a plain Jane kinda gal and love bling..so be forewarned…lots of glimmer paper happening next and some type of movement.

Created a circle spinner card with the Flurries stamp set with the matching punch.. Went with one of my most fave Christmas colour combos: Pink, White and Silver…..and of course needed to try out the new spinner die and break out the heat gun with the silver embossing powder…the most difficult part about making this card was finding some pennies as they’re a hot commodity now since Canada did away with them several years ago.

Next up..an easel card with a shaker…anyone who knows me..I love love love shaker cards…..so tried out the new to me Christmas sets from the Annual Catalog. Went with a traditional colour combo, added some red glimmer..sequins and seed beads..Voila!

Another interactive card…while on the front it looks pretty simple…opened..stockings hung by the fireplace with care….did you know that the small ticket from the retired ticket punch makes the perfect cuff for the small stockings? Santa's boots are dangling in the fireplace. Love the new stitched dies that I used for the rug's centre to write your message to the recipient and to finish the card.

Hope you've enjoyed the cards and would love some blog love as to which is your favourite of the three. Thanks for dropping by and having a peek.

Make sure to check the other 10 Design Team artists for their inspiration

Season's Greetings.

Guest Designer for Watercooler Wednesday....

Welcome  stampers, I received an unexpected email last week to be a Guest Designer, which totally floored me. The Watercooler Wednesday peeps host a weekly challenge and their Design Team showcase the challenge with each of their own takes.

This week's challenge...it's Deborah Smart's lovely colour challenge: Whisper White, Real Red, Soft Suede, Olive Green, and Basic Black.

So to showcase the Christmas colour combo...well in my mind, the combo screamed Christmas...Dug out some retired DSP.. Tried out a couple new to me stamp sets: Tin of Tags & Wonderful Year and the different thinlits' sets...gave the Big Shot, a decent work out and came up with the reindeer penguin..so Voila!

Be sure to check the other design team's creations back at the  Watercooler Wednesday's site for their spin and inspiration on the colour challenge. Also, we would love to see your take on Deborah's colour challenge..be sure to link up your creation. :)

Peek a Boo Happy Birthday....Honourable Mention..

Another great challenge over at Watercooler Wednesdays'...this time around..Marsha's Anything Goes Masculine. I've been wanting to try the new to me peek a boo technique and needed a manly card for an upcoming Birthday! While a little intimidating...the cutting, the scoring and assembling was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Love my bestie's bear set...might have to add this one to the list...huge sigh...such an enabler she is..LOL.. Here it is...a manly card and a technique crossed off the bucket list! Voila!

Soft Sky Christmas....it's a WINNER!!

Colour challenges normally take me awhile to figure out; however, this time around with Penny's colour challenge over at Watercooler Wednesdays': Tip Top Taupe, Soft Sky, White and Silver....totally worked for me and this card came together pretty quick for me. I wanted to try this gatefold with the frame and matted image attached to the left and right card panels. Stamped and embossed the ornaments hanging from the branch with silver embossing powder and finished with the ice rhinestones. Just had to add googly eyes to the owl perched on the Tip Top Taupe branch and leaves....stamped snowflakes with Soft Sky from the Serene Snowflakes set..couldn't decide on which Christmas sentiment so I left it blank..Voila!

Deets: All Stampin Up except for googly eyes.

EDIT: Just found out that I won the Watercooler Wednesday's colour challenge. Woot woot...happy dance and high fives. Thanks to the Watercooler Wednesday peeps for a great challenge and for choosing my card as the winner. What a GREAT Tuesday. ;)

Thanks for dropping by and taking a peek at my card.

FaBOOlous....

With this card, a double challenge on the plate: ~ The Paper Players' Claire's theme challenge of Hallowe'en & Watercooler Wednesday's Heidi's sketch challenge...excellent timing as I needed a Hallowe'en card to send to a couple special peeps.
Loved the skeletons from the Hallowe'en Cookie Cutter stamp set..used the cobweb from the retired Bite Me stamp set as my splotch behind the dry embossed and sponged pumpkin...stamped with Elegant Eggplant, the sentiment onto a piece of vanilla cardstock...Finished the card with the matted googly eyes trio in the top left hand corner...Voila!!

Goodbye & Good Luck

Masculine cards....one of the hardest cards to design in my humble opinion...so I thought I would combine a couple more challenges to make it more interesting ...and went with the following hat trick challenge:
Fab Friday's colour challenge: Emerald Envy, Delightful Dijon & Vanilla
Watercooler Wednesday's Kath's theme challenge: Anything Goes Masculine, and
last, but not least...Sunday Stamps' sketch challenge...
Also add to that mix.... a farewell card for a coworker ...so 4 stamp sets later: Traveller, Banners for You, retired sets ~ Going Global and Dictionary...
Voila another card off my to make list!

Christmas Wishes...it's a Winner!!!

Over at the Can You Case It blog...they have a shaker challenge and anyone who knows me...knows that I am slightly addicted to shakers....So as soon as I saw the challenge...I was all over it...so not only do I have a shaker card...I have one more Christmas card made to add to the stash. Pulled out the retired Ornamental Pines and Serene Snowflake stamp sets for this card. Tried out the new foam adhesive strips. While I like the height of the shaker box with the foam strips...I think I prefer the fun foam  for shaped shakers as there's no gaps between the card and the shaker box..if that makes sense. If you're making a square or rectangle shaker, than the foam adhesive strips are the way to go, for sure. Sprinkled sequins and seed beads in the shaker and Voila!

Deets: All Stampin Up except for seed beads.

EDIT: Just found out that Jeanne chose my card as one of the six CYCI winners!! OMG..totally may my day. Thank you for choosing my card and for the great challenge.
Looking forward to the next CYCI challenge. :)

Happy Birthday...

A double challenge for this Birthday Card: Create with Connie and Mary's colour challenge of Emerald Envy, Delightful Dijon & Soft Suede with Pals Paper Arts' sketch challenge.
Love the new Seaside embossing folder for the soft suede layer on the white card base. Sponged the Birthday Bloom with Delightful Dijon, than masked the Birthday Bloom and stamped the Dictionary background over on top. Made my faux ribbon by stamping one of the Birthday cake layers from the Build A Birthday set with Emerald Envy..notched the end to complete the ribbon. The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped and layered onto the Vintage Label circle layers and finished the card..Voila!!

Happy Birthday to you....it's a WINNER!!!

Watercooler Wednesday's weekly challenge this week is Jean's colour challenge: Black, white and copper. I struggled with the colour combo as they're totally out of my comfort zone...Pulled out some retired sets: Four Feathers, Dictionary background and Tag Talk ...embossed the feathers with copper embossing powder..layered a couple of the feathers and stamped the Dictionary background over the dry embossed large polka dots and the copper feathers..Stamped and layered the Happy Birthday..Voila!! Challenge completed and another card off my to make list! Bonus! :)

Deets: All Stampin Up except for beaded window die

EDIT: OMG...Just discovered that I won the Watercooler Wednesday challenge!!! A great way to end my Monday and off to bed I go shortly. Thank you Jean for picking my card as the winner!!! Loved your challenge and all of the DT's inspiration. :)

A Great Big THANKS for Being YOU Box...Honorable Mention it is...

I was asked to make a special WOW card to house several gift cards as a Thank You... so instead of a plain flat card...I made an exploding box...started with Just Add Ink's colour challenge: Calypso Coral, Soft Sky & Dapper Denim..Gave my punches a good work out, embossed and stamped card stocks and threw in some retired designer series paper and ribbon for good measure....Voila!

Deets: All Stampin Up

EDIT: Just found out that I made Just Add Ink's Honorable Mention for the colour challenge! Sweet, great way to start the morning. Thank you to the JAI peeps for choosing my card. :)
