Belated chicks

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and I just couldn't resist making another card with those adorable chicks!

It's a really good job MFT include such great sentiments for belated cards as I always seem to need them - lol!

I am also a huge fan of the MFT Blueprint die sets so I bought myself another one a few weeks back and couldn't wait to try it out.  I actually can't believe I didn't have this one as it is unbelievably versatile, but hey, I have it now!

Bee mine

Hello lovely people,

Merry Friday everyone, and here I am again with my weekly Dies to Die For DT card.

Now, this is pretty unusual for me...I went back for another play with a stamp set that I used only recently; that doesn't happen often because I am usually too eager to move on to playing with other new stash!
However, these bees are just too cute and I really wanted to make a shaker card with them.

I've heat embossed the hexagon background in white then inked the panel with Distress Oxides.

I stamped the heart trail on the full panel, then die cut the hexagon shape and stuck that to the card front.  I added the plastic pouch to the aperture, piled up my sequins on the hexagon stuck to the card front, and attached the panel over the top, lining it up with the hexagon on the card.

I could have just put the plastic pouch on top of the inked panel and covered the edges with the frame, but I wanted the plastic pouch to be sitting right at the bottom of all the card layers because then it sticks out less and I think it looks neater.

The sentiment is computer generated because the stamp set didn't have the words I wanted!

Hugs and kisses

Hello lovely people,

I'm here this morning with my Dies to Die For DT card and you probably all know by now how much of a sucker I am for cute punny cards so there was no way I could resist the Tic Tac Toe stamps and dies from the latest MFT release.

I've used mainly the stamps for this simple design.

I've added in a few other dies to create the design and at the last minute I thought a couple of sequins would finish it off nicely.

Up in the air

Hello lovely people,

Gosh, Friday has rolled around again and so I am here as usual with a Dies to Die For DT card using one of my newest MFT acquisitions, from the April release.

Yep, I couldn't resist another stamp set featuring cute animals, this time combined with hot air balloons!

My little framed scene was coming along nicely until I realised I needed something as a sky background, which was a problem because I am not very confident at creating sky/clouds as a background.

After faffing around with some DP which didn't feel quite right, I finally conceded that I was just going to have to put on my big girl pants and colour a cloudy backdrop with my Copics - eeeeeek!!

I used some cloud dies as a template and after all that worry, I am actually pretty pleased with how it turned out :-)

As you can see, I added the foreground balloon with foam pads and I also stacked up the letters apart from the very bottom section which rests on the frame...yep, that was quite fiddly to do!

Double blooms

Hello lovely people,

It's Friday and therefore time for me to tempt you all with my DT card for Dies to Die For and yes, I'm using MORE lovely new stash!

I had lined up my new MFT flower stamps and dies to play around with and came up with a basic design, but then couldn't decide which papers to use.  I had 2 choices, one very modern and one more vintage...so I thought I'd solve the problem by making 2 cards!

Here's #1...

Pink flowers in modern style, using MFT Build-able bouquet stamps and dies

I've stamped the stems directly onto the card and then paper pieced the flowers for this design

Here's #2

Pink flowers in vintage style, using MFT Build-able bouquet stamps and dies

This time I coloured the flowers with Copics and cut them out with the matching dies

I quickly realised that it was going to take a bit of work to make sure that I got the stamping and die cutting lined up...see those fiddly little stems?!

So, I'm afraid I haven't had time to take photos but I thought I'd share my technique for getting the stamp and die cut perfectly aligned;
- die cut the outline shape from a scrap piece of card
- place the outline on the bottom pad of the MISTI
- place the stamp into the aperture of the die cut then close the MISTI lid so it picks up the stamp
- open the MISTI, place the die cut aperture back over the stamp to double check the alignment
- stamp the flower image onto your cardstock, then colour as desired
- place the die over the top and tape down then die cut
- PERFECT!!

I'm sure you could do the same technique without a MISTI but it definitely makes it a little easier.
