WOYWW 228 - I'm back.....!

I'm back for WOYWW again and sorry as I've been away for so long. Not for anything delightful like a holiday or a gorgeous surprise but for health reasons/problems.

Rather than go into everything, let's just say not much time for crafting, but I've now managed to get in a little and have enjoyed it so much! It's amazing how better you feel for doing a little crafting!

Our Domi has been to the vet but he is still amazed how remarkably well she is for a 21 year old, and described her as "feisty" after she had an in-stay for some extra help with her fluids etc. She never lashed out but has now started to growl a bit if she is kept waiting for anything she wants LOL!! She had her 21st Birthday Party at the weekend (yes, I know it's a cat but she IS family to us and we love her dearly bless!).

Above are the beginnings of two cards I made for her.  I've not got much else to show you but hopefully things will start to improve with some fingers crossed!

Enjoy WOYWW and keep crafting!!!!

WOYWW 207

Welcome to Annie, my latest follower - great to see you!

WOYWW and guess what is on my workdesk? Yes - our little lady Domi! Bless.  She's so determined to get my attention instead of letting me craft on my bed.  Typical kitty huh!
Here on my little worktray is another piece of the Poundshop packaging!!! This is the reverse of the backing card in the plastic box. I had some sticky back holographic paper (shame I can't remember where it came from now!).  It's easy to make into matting and layering pieces of cardstock!

That's all for this week as I've had problems with tennis elbow (even though I can no longer play tennis!).  If anyone knows how to ease the pain, please let me know!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 200

This is what is on my worktray for WOYWW this week - guess who wanted to be in the middle of the crafting area on my bed then?!?!?! Yep, you guessed it, our little Domi.  She loves to be in the middle of everything wondering when her next meal will be.  Her thyroid problem is costing me a fortune!!  She's worth every penny though so I don't mind.

As I didn't manage to get on in time for WOYWW last week, here's what was on the tray - full of Easter treats!  All waiting to be made into something so I just had to share it with you all.  Of course, I can't eat any of them, but it was nice smelling the chcolate as I made them into......

Chcoclate Bunny Treat Packs!!!  Well, with help from Domi of course LOL!  I thought they looked really cute all together.  I used some "Accessorize" stickers to make their lovely noses.  Each one has a different expression and those teeth really make me laugh!  I used card candi to make the little paws.

All of the recipients enjoyed the chocolate treat bunnies - Domi loves giving little pressies too.  She manages to stretch her pocket money really well don't you think?!?!!?

Oh dear, I think I hear the tumbleweed moving as the men in the white coats try to locate me!

Help.....!!!

WOYWW 185 - the Christmas one!

So what is on my workdesk today?  Well if you're not sure why I'm asking Click Here to find out!  As you all know, my workdesk is my bed with trays on - but today there is something special on there.

There are lots of parcels all wrapped up and ready to deliver to the Cat Shelter.  Yes, I know, I'm daft - wrapping presents for cats - tsk!  Well, why shouldn't they have Christmas the same as us, our little old lady (aged 20!) does.  She has Christmas Dinner and presents the same as we do.

There are loads of crocheted blankets in this top picture and in the one underneath, there are loads of cat toys.
I did the same last year to a different Cat Shelter and they had lovely stockings full to bursting on each cat cabin.  It all looked so pretty with decorations up too.

I'm going to be kept occupied again to make bits and pieces for the next Cat Shelter Fair - fundraising for charities never stops.

Thanks also to Gill for her continuing support of the cancer charities too, along with Julia who also donated some fantastic cards as well.  The comments I heard as I left the shop like "Wow look at this one", "I've got to have this one" and "Beautiful absolutely beautiful".......show you all how much they are appreciated and that they make lots of money to help rid the world of this terrible disease that so many of us have (myself included) or have family members or friends affected by it.

All there is left to say now is "Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"!!!!
Enjoy!!!

WOYWW 184

WOYWW is here again - click here to see what Mrs Dunnit is up to on her workdesk, although she's not there but she is if you know what I mean!  So what is on my workdesk?  Not a lot really, it was my Birthday (Happy Birthday to me!) yesterday - so that explains why LOL!!!  I was out enjoying myself instead....!

However here is what is on my little worktray, holly with gems on, all drying off ready for cards.  I made a big batch of cards, and also put together a big bag of cards for the cancer charities - and yes you've guessed it - my cards went in the bag too and obviously they are now at the Charity instead!  So I've got loads more to make when I thought I was almost done with the Christmas cards.  Never mind, at least the charity will make even more money which is the positive in a negative!!!

Can you see the little Robin here? His Christmas has come early!!   It's a lovely Farm Shop we go to and there is always some new goodies to look at.  This time there's a bowl of Christmas Pudding - complete with spoon - and you can stir it and make a wish.  I remember doing this when my Nan made the Christmas Puddings, it was always a tradition I loved.  I do miss my Nan so much!!!

To finish off here is out little Domi, in her little house - she doesn't realise she's got her tail sticking out though!!! The photo isn't that brilliant as it was a strange light - it gives strange tinges to the colours sometime.

Hope you all have a wonderful WOYWW and be careful out there in the snow!

So cute...

I just love this digi image.  It was so cute and I got it along with a couple of other 'kitty related images' which just happened to jump into my shopping basket when I visited the site!

Some snippets of backing paper along with this gorgeous white die cut - I think it came from Gill, I don't know if I've used it in the right way Gill, but it just sort of came together!

I love these little sentiment tickets and have collected a few.  I was going to try making a few of my own but with so many hospital/medical things going on at the moment I've not had a chance to try.

Enjoy!

For Emily

A little girl called Emily, aged 7, is having a tough time lately, she has Leukaemia, then after treatment had many more health problems inluding rotavirus, pancreatitus, shingles, kidney stones and she's really going through ups and downs.

As a cancer patient myself, I know how she feels and thought it might help to send her a card from England which is all pink and girlie.  I know she loves horses and kittens, and the lovely Dustin  has drawn these images.

I made this 'stepper card' using my Woodware trimmer again.  No template, just looking at the finished article on a webpage and had a go!  Once you try it once, it's easier than you think!  Again HOTP freebie papers were used, they are so cute!

The internet is an amazing place, making our world seem a lot smaller by connecting us all.  If you/'d like to send a card to Emily, then Click Here to find out more.

Keep smiling Emily!

I've had this image for a while, all coloured up and decided to use it on this with lots of other snippets along the way.  I really must find out more about the "Snippets Challenge" as I use loads of snippets all the time on my cancer charity cardmaking.

I used my MS PATP punch for the edging of the subtle pink paper, added a white love die cut on the top along with some white corner die cuts (again from Di!) and some gorgeous pawprint ribbon which I got for 49p!  Within the pack were six pieces of self adhesive ribbon (about 12" long) so they will go quite a way on the cards.

I added a gold mirror backing to the paper, as well as the sentiment.- I hope you think it works OK!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 142

As you know, I have to craft on my bed (bad leg and very bad leg allowing!) and today I had a little helper with me.  So sorry after walking over all the cardstock and getting tape on her tail, she decided to sleep it all off anyway (as cats do!)....and I couldn't disturb her could I....bless...!!

Enjoy WOYWW!

Happy Valentines Day...!

Well there had to be a valentines card didn't there, and of course it has to be a cat too! What else!!!
My lovely friend Di gave me this cat set a while back now, she's probably thinking I've not used it or didn't like it. How wrong...it's gorgeous to print and colour. I've only got a few things out at the moment, so used what was to hand.
My PM's of course, I love them! I'm spending more time colouring than making the cards! I even had my arms lock up the other day when picking a pen up, it was so weird, I'm used to the hands doing it and the fingers, but not the arms too!
Also, I've now been using my cute little easel to put my cards on. I need to get a couple of bigger pieces of card though as A4 is just not big enough, even when using the camera on 'close up'.
As usual with me, there had to be some bling on there, so I used tiny little gems on her crown. It's just like our Domi, she loves pillows too!
Enjoy!

Card for a Special Person

This card is a special one for my friend at my Cancer Hospital, she looks after me so well and I wanted to thank her for going beyond the call of duty to help me before she went on holiday.

SHOPPING LIST

Here's what you need to make this card:

  • Yellow cardstock

  • Silver mirri card which has been cuttlebugged with the "Stars" embossing folder

  • Yellow gingham background paper (freebie download)

  • Cat image relaxing in a life buoy (think that's what it's called, please correct me if I'm wrong!) coloured with Twinkling H20's

  • Crystal Stickles were added to the red stripes to make it more 'blingy' for a girl!

  • Sentiment is a handwritten message with the pink freebie pen, and matted and layered onto red mirri card (another scrap I used up!)

I hardly ever throw little pieces of card away, and find ways of using up even the oddest shape on my cards. Recycling is a good way of helping not only the environment, but also my pocket as 100% of the proceeds from my cards is given to the cancer charity/hospice. I just enjoy making the cards which keeps my little grey cells and my carpal tunnel addled hands moving!
