So, I am going to try to meet the Mindful Writing Challenge January 2013.
It seems as if I should be able to do this if I keep it in the forefront of my mind. I would like to because it is a way to be in the moment, noticing life around me...a way to keep centered and calm. These are all good things. Additionally, I like to write...a lot! This writing is short, small...doable. So why not?! I'd really like to practice and consider my writing more this year. My dear friend who gifted me with the 2 Mary Oliver books further gifted me by revealing that she enjoys reading my written works and wanted to inspire me!!! Thank you!
For the next 31 days I plan to write one 'small stone'. I will post them in the newly added tab up top and on my FaceBook page for my friends/family that know me there too. I've also added the badge at the bottom of the pomegranate trail home page.
Without further adieu...
SMALL STONE: "Stripes of light and shadow dance across the dusty landscape of the quieted television, evoking peace with reminders of things not yet done."

What a good New Years resolution! I think about something similar. Do you know http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.de
a year in journaling ? There the focus is more on creating less on writing. But the most important thing is to change the focus at all. I started yesterday and even it would not be a daily work ... I started! Good luck to you!
Hi, Nancy. What a great idea about the writing. I find a small task easy to do, so just about everything I do is broken down that way. I also have decided to get back to writing my (academic) book, which has been sitting idle for a year. For me, the problem of only getting part done then letting it fall is rather a question of circling. I will circle back around again sooner or later and do the next step. So don't feel guilty (our culture does that to us), just swing by again.
best, nadia
Doris~ I will have to check out that link! I hope you share some of what you do!
Nadia~ I've gotten busy again, so small it will be! I would love to hear more about your book! I like that...swing by again! And again and again!!!
A great idea: small and for a short time, even I could do this!
Blandina~ That was my thought! :) Join us, won't you?!
