Rock Inspiration
Needle felted wool and silk fibers and silk organza fabric dyed with indigo and natural dyes. Agate type rock for inspiration.
The rock is mostly purples, red violets, golds and cobalt blues, though you'd never know it from this photo.
Since this is the last piece of my machine needle felted constructed cloth I thought I'd do something special with the piece, lots of hand stitching and knots.
I just need to decide which side I want to use, it's about six by seven inches in size.

Crow Ornaments
My inspiration bird a raven that was sitting on my grape arbor this summer. We don't get many ravens here, mostly crows, and I was really happy to snap his pic before he left.
Needle felted black merino wool and blue calypso angelina fibers made into a constructed cloth.
The same black needle felted wool and the back side of the angelina cloth which consists of black shred and forest floor angelina fibers.
ATC constructed of peltex, double sided adhesive, with kona PFD fabric, bird body consists of black merino felt, and the wings I made of layers of angelina fibers.
The back side of the crow ornament I will cover it with vintage black german glass glitter when I'm finished with the stitching. The backround colors are from Tsukineko Walnut Inks - Cherry Blossom and Adirondaks Inks - Butterscotch. I made the card during today's live Ustream You can view the recorded video at my Ustream link, click the previous link or do a search for kbaxterpackwood!

Faerie Wings
The last peak until the final assembly! But I couldn't resist the wings are beautiful, but they are NOT done yet I'm going to couch some constructed threads to the surfaces of the wings to give them strength and dimension then I will attach them to a fitting that can be snapped onto the faerie body.
The back side of the wings consist of angelina fused to painted misty fuse which is fused to painted silk organza and is againg fused, with painted misty fuse, to hand painted papers! I then stitched the elements using a rayon thread to match the angelina and a shimmery copper metallic on the paper side (bobbin stitched).

New dyed fibers
Here's a hat Regina Rooks (you can see her blog here http://rgrdesigns.blogspot.com/) made for me, from hand-dyed wool yarn I purchased seveeral years ago. It'd be perfect for a small childs head.
I've been dyeing fibers and making batts for the shop. Most of these are blends of silk bombyx sliver, Austrailian wool, and mohair. Some of the batts have angelina in them. Some are really pretty, I don't have a picture of them will do that tomorrow, pinks and greens, yellows and greens. Using the drum carder makes my back ache.
