10-13 Sketch

Baby Shower Cards

I needed to make two baby shower cards for my two cousins.  A joint baby shower for them... one is having a girl and one is having a boy.

I found a sketch I wanted to use at the Cricut Card Forums hosted by Gisele and her extra credit for the challenge was to use one sketch for two different cards... this is what I came up with

I used the baby carriage cut from Cricut cartridge: New Arrival.  Cuttlebug embossing folders for the circles.  Stickles for the gold/yellow trims.  I decided to use the old style label makers for the sentiments

Thanks for looking!

Cards size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Supplies used:

Papers: Generations
Cricut cartridge: New Arrival - baby carriages
Fiskar circle punch and flower punch
Old style label maker

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Feb 22)

This week's freebie digi image from Digi Desserts Fridaze is an image of this yummy chocolate milkshake.   This has got to be my favorite freebie so far!

I colored the digi using Adobe Photoshop.  I used colors from an image of a milkshake I found online and printed the digi on photo paper.  I cut out another copy of whipped cream and the cherry and pop-dotted them in three layers for dimension.  For the card, I used the Ad colors from February 20th Card Sketch Challenge

Thanks for looking!

Card size - 4.25" x 5.5"

Supplies used:
Papers - Close to My Heart
Adobe Photoshop
Cuttlebug

Happy 50th Birthday Joe !!!

Ok, I didn't actually wanted "50" to show up anywhere on the card.  I used SCAL to design this card.  I used the negative space where the JOE shadow was cut from to form the middle base for the actual "JOE" cut which was pop-dotted over that space.  I then used the shadow cut inside the card.  The sentiment is a stamp then penned over with a glitter gel pen

Congratulations to Sandra for passing the nursing boards

I didn't want a regular card to congratulate her with so I used SCAL to create this shaped card out of welding the letters together.  I found the image of the bear nurse online and printed it on photo paper as well as the sentiment and the "RN Sandra"

Using the same image as the previous sympathy card... I made this for another friend.  The extra credit for the sketch challenge is to use a negative cut.  I used Design Studio to align all the papers and cut out the circle for each piece including the card base.  The image and the sentiment inside were both printed on computer paper

Keeping with my New Year's Resolution of making a Christmas card once a week...

All the papers are from DCWV pre-made blank notecards that I cut up for all the pieces.  The snowflake is pop-dotted at two different layers to give it height and dimension.  Top layer was ran through my  Xyron so I could sprinkle it with glitter.  The sentiment was drawn using SCAL then I just penned over it

This week's freebie digi image from Digi Desserts Fridaze is an image of these cute Candy Hearts.  Well, time to make a Valentine card with it

Card Sketch Challenge: 1-30 (sketch 3)

This was a fun sketch to play around with.  I had made exactly two copies of this card because... well, what else are you going to do with the rest of the triangles you cut off?

I used glitter gel pens on the rubber stamp for the sentiment... the circles had an odd effect, but I like it!

Thanks for looking!

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Feb 1)

This week's freebie digi image from Digi Desserts Fridaze is a pair of cherries.  I'm not really sure what to do with cherries so I made this simple generic card to eventually use sometime in the future

I printed the pre-colored version of the cherries on photo paper and used the scraps to stamp the sentiment as well.  I thought the stamp was going to rub off but it stuck on the photo paper.  How cool is that?

Thanks for looking!

Card size - 4.25" x 4.25"

Justrite Friday Challenge #89

This week's JustRite Friday Challenge is allowing just about anything as long as your project still has a JustRite stamp... ooops I forgot that we are also supposed to use our favorite stamp set and explain why it's our favorite.  Unfortunately, I don't own too many JustRite stamp sets to pick a favorite... at least, not yet

I decided to use one of the sketches from the weekly Card Sketch Challenge along with the Ad colors to make this simple card

The stamp is from "Whimsical Christmas" set by JustRite and the frame is from Spellbinders.  This is the first time I made rolled up flowers.  They are from Cricut cartridge: Art Philosophy .  I inked them before rolling them up then dabbed them with glitter glue. The stamp is heat embossed

Staying true to my New Year's Resolution of making a Christmas card at least once a week... here is another

I didn't have a poinsettia die cut or Cricut cut I wanted to use so I sort of hijacked Spellbinder's image of their poinsettia and used SCAL to cut it for me

I made this card a few weeks ago and I had forgotten to put this on my blog.  My daughter, Zenica, had won first place in a Martin Luther King art competition for her school and her work along with others' were to be displayed in the local museum

My older daughter, Kiara, suggested I made a card with Martin Luther King to present it to her sister after the award ceremony

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Jan 25)

This week's freebie digi image from Digi Desserts Fridaze is a heart with the words "Love You" right on it.  I suppose it's time to start making Valentine's Day cards so I also decided to use another image from them using the bear sitting on a piece of candy

I printed out two copies of the heart so I can cut out one and pop it up on top of the other.  I used Stickles to outline the bottom edge of the heart.  The bear is also cut out and reinforced with a heavier cardstock.  Both images were colored with Copics but the candy is covered with a thin layer of Crackle Accent because I wanted to get that effect of looking like it was cellophane and added red Stickles for the stripes.  The "XOXO" is from Wild Card cartridge and I it's "drawn" right on the banner and I colored it with glitter gel pen.  I also used Liquid Glass for the bear's eyes

Card size: 4.25" x 4.25"

Jingle Belles - January 18th

Scandinavian Christmas

Jingle Belles has an interesting theme this week... Scandinavian Christmas... and we are provided with an inspirational picture using Red, White, & Jul.  Uh... ok... what is Jul?  Must be an inside joke among the DT?  LOL... ok anyway... here is my take on their challenge

I used Martha Stewart double-sided paper for the red and then used Darice embossing folders for both the top and bottom part of the card.  I decided to cover the embossed swirls and dots with Liquid Glass... that took forever!  The sentiment was "drawn" right on the paper using my Cricut Gel Pens and using the Wild Card cartridge.  The snowflakes came from Art Philosophy cartridge then I sprinkled them with glitter after they went through the good old reliable Xyron

Card size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Supplies:
Papers - Martha Stewart
Darice embossing folders
Liquid Glass
Xyron
Cricut cartridge: Art Philosophy - snowflakes
Cricut cartridge: Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More - tag

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Jan 18)

This week's freebie digi image from Paper Crafting World is a cupcake!  So, of course I had to make a birthday card and enter it for their current challenge at Digi Desserts Fridaze

I used Adobe Photoshop to make the cupcake a little wider then used a Spellbinder frame after printing out the image.  Colored it with Copics then added a little glitter glue to the cupcake wrapping and used liquid pearls for the sprinkles.  The flowers are 5 layers of Fiskar flower punch, the flourish is from Cheery Lynn.  The "Happy Birthday" was computer generated

I chose these particular colors because they are the current Ad color challenge for RAQ's Card Sketch Challenge

Card size: 4.25" x 4.25"

Supplies:
Papers - Recollections
