Aujourd'hui, je me suis sacrifiée à la tâche: expérimenter avec des nouveaux produits… il faut bien que quelqu'un le fasse (soupirs) :-) La vedette cette semaine est un ensemble de Flat Fabio's de Lindy's Stamp Gang. Délicieux! Et la beauté de ce produit c'est qu'on peut mélanger les couleurs chaudes et froides sans faire de "boue"! Le bonheur total. Pour couronner le tout, j'ai trouvé ce nouveau pochoir de Donna Downey avec une citation tout à propos.

Have you heard? Fabio's in town! Flat Fabio's by Lindy's Stamp Gang that is (sorry, ladies, I'm talking spray here….) We just got them in the store and of course I sacrificed myself to play with them for you so I can tell you how awesome they are! The coolest thing about them is that you can mix warm and cool colors together without creating mud. Now that's exciting! I don't know how they did it, but it totally works! And to top it all off, I found the perfect quote in the form a new stencil by Donna Downey which fits perfectly with the bright colors.

Toile nid d'abeille * Honeycomb Canvas

Voici une toute petite toile que j'ai décorée avec, entres autres, une nouvelle matrice à découpe et un pochoir de Tim Holtz, des encres en vaporisateur de Studio Calico, des fleurs, des perles et plus (voir la vidéo ci-bas pour la liste complète des fournitures).

Here's a small canvas that I embellished using one of the new Tim Holtz cutting dies and stencil, Studio Calico's Mister Huey's ink sprays, some flowers, pearls and more (please watch the video for a full list of supplies).

Je viens de découvrir un autre médium très intéressant : la lava noire de Liquitex. C'est un médium gel qui contient des petites particules noires. Lorsqu'on l'applique, le gel est gris et sèche transparent pour révéler les granules noirs. Cela ajoute une texture incroyable au projet  peu importe l'épaisseur que vous appliquez. De plus, la lava noire se mélange avec d'autre médium et peintures pour des effets encore plus extraordinaires. J'en ai profité pour la mélanger avec un glacis Silks Iridescent Gold parce que la lava noire est encore plus dramatique lorsqu'on y ajoute une peinture translucide et iridescente. Je craque!

I just fell in love with another medium : Black Lava by Liquitex. Yum! This is a gel medium that has tiny black specks or particles in it. The medium is grey when you apply it and dries clear to reveal the black specks. It adds a very interesting texture to your work and the more you apply the more dramatic it looks. What's even better is that you can mix Black Lava with other media or paints to create spectacular effects. I mixed it with Iridescent Gold Silks because Black Lava is best shown with a translucent paint and better yet with something that is considered an interference color. So that set the tone for an oriental background created with a Memory Box stencil and a bonsai tree die by Spellbinders.
