Welcome to the Cutters Creek Christmas in July Blog Hop! If you came from Fran’s blog you are in the right place, if not and you would like to start at the beginning please jump to the Cutters Creek Design Team blog.

We have some great projects in store for you today to provide you plenty of inspiration to help you jump start your holiday crafting. So grab your favorite beverage, sit back and relax, and get ready for some fun, inspiration, and the chance to win some blog candy too!

Here is what I made for you today.  I used a paper pack from My Mind’s Eye.  There paper is always full of such great patterns and I love mixing and matching them all. I did something different for this card and just used the elements of the paper instead of adding any outside stamped images or die cuts.  Here is a picture of my card.

I used a couple of different patterns for the base of the card.  I then cut the sentiment from another page of the pad and matted it with a coordinating pattern.  After I glued that down, I cut some additional embellishments from the paper.  I fussy cut around the little bird and pop dotted him up from the background  I added a lot of stickles and spica pens to the elements to give them a little shine.  Here is a close up of the sentiment and the bird.

I wanted to add a little bit more so I fussy cut this little banner out from another one of the sheets.

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the banner has some added bling as well.

I hope you have enjoyed all the projects this weekend, and don’t forget, we have some awesome blog candy for you.

Butterfly Bling

I made this card for 2 different challenges. The first challenge was to add butterfly wings to a Tilda image that did not already have wings. The second challenge was the bling challenge on Sugar Sweet Paper Treats. I colored this adorable little Tilda with copic markers and then

accented her with my copic spica pens for a little bling factor. The frustrating thing is that I went totally crazy with the bling in the project and it just doesn't show up in the photos no matter what I tried. For the mushroom, I stamped it once on white paper, once on the striped paper and once on the polka dot paper and paper pieced it together. The striped paper is glittered cardstock, but I added some additional stickles to it as well as stickling the polka dots on the green paper. Her butterfly wings were cut from Pooh and Friends on my cricut. It was actually just half a butterfly and I cut it once and flipped it and cut it again then attached the 2 together. I added some stickles to her wings for more bling. Finally, I cut the butterfly border from Paper Pups and Hi There from beyond birthdays. Even though these were cut out of bling cardstock, I stickled on top of it to make them even blingier! I had a lot of fun with this project. I like combining my 2 favorites things- stamps and my cricut!

more and more swaps

Ok, here are a few more. I am not done yet, but all the rest are due in November. I made Fall themed birthday cards, June calendars, butterflies, tiggers, cards, and pumpkins. Sounds like fun doesn't it. It really was. It takes a lot of time, but it is worth it in the end when you get all your great stuff back in the mail. The butterflies are from the Storybook cartridge and the owl is a sizzlits die. My next challenge was to create a CD calendar page for the month of June. Nothing says June quite like penguins! I had to make orange shapes for another swap. Immediately I thought of pumpkins for Fall/Halloween. The tall pumpkin border is from Stretch Your Imagination and the other pumpkins are from Pooh and Friends. I still needed one more orange shape, so I decided on Tigger. He's orange, he's cute, he's tiggeriffic!! Last but not least, my purple birthday cards. I finally used the cards from Stretch Your imagination and it turned out really cute.
