Little Miss Firecracker Banner - Gecko Galz Sample

I have been bitten by the patriotic bug. I have been creating tons of things, all USA! My mantel is looking awesome, and as soon as I hang up my Patriotic Printer's Tray, I will be posting about it.

The new products from Gecko Galz this month are awesome! I really loved the Little Miss Firecracker Collage Sheet Set, featuring patriotic ladies. I made a mini banner featuring a few of my favorites. This is a simple way to make holiday decor from our collage sheets, and can be done with any theme.

Simply cut out your images, and ink them. Punch holes in the corners and add eyelets. I do that so as not to tear the paper when tying knots. Then take a piece of ribbon and connect each image, adding more ribbon before tying. So only one ribbon is in the holes but three are there. Then add some twine on the end images with loops at the ends for hanging. Easy!

Patriotic Rays Card - Gecko Galz Sample

Another sample from Gecko Galz this month, a card using an image from the Little Miss Firecracker Collage Sheet Set. I saw a tutorial for a card using rays on Pinterest, HERE, and knew I needed to try it with my patriotic leftovers.

After putting on the rays, I added the glitter ribbon, felt star, sequins, vintage image, and sentiment. Very easy to make and useful for many themes.

This month over at Gecko Galz, we are pairing up with OpticIllusions, and the GG Design Team made wonderful projects using their products along with those from Gecko Galz.

I have been in a Patriotic mood since before Memorial Day and decided to use the new patriotic GG products with OpticIllusions to make a Pariotic Printer's Tray.

I am pleased with the results! For info on supplies and instructions, head over to Gecko Galz!

Pom Pom Topiary

One of my last minute decorations I did for Easter was this Pom Pom Topiary. I found the idea on Pinterest. I had a foam topiary already, as well as Pom Poms from Target in their dollar area. I did have to get another package from the craft store since the. Target ones weren't enough. I was afraid it would look mis-matched since the pastels were so different, but once I finished it, I realized it looked great.

I had to trim foam off of the base of the topiary to fit it into my bucket. I may change the base in the future, but it worked out well for now. I covered the base with the leftover loose Pom Poms.

Another Easter Decoration

Since my Easter decorations got stuck in the back of the garage behind a ton of boxes, I had to make do with what I had on hand. I was able to find pretty buckets that I will use foe Easter baskets, and I had various crafting supplies that I unearthed, add that to the few things I purchased, I have come up with some simple things to make it feel festive around here!

This egg bouquet was a variation of one I found on Pinterest, where the egg sticks were just in a simple white basket filled with grass. I had various containers to choose from, so the can was the perfect choice. Skinny enough that I didn't need foam to help them stand up.

I wrapped the can in green polka dot paper, using Scor-Tape. I love that stuff! Holds anything! Then I used the tape again to put on the pink rick rack. I filled it with purple paper shreds and added my egg sticks. I decided against ribbon on each since I didn't have many choices. So many boxes to still go through!

The egg was drawn on white Cardstock then covered with Washi tape. Then I cut it out. I did the same with the bunny, drawing it on Cardstock. Then I cut it out and applied glitter clue. Once dry, glue to egg, the use Scor-Tape to adhere to can. Voila! A fun, simple, and new decoration!
