Team Changes and a Big Welcome to our Newest Member!

Hello there folks!  I'm popping in today to let you know about some team changes. In case you missed it, during our November Monthly Scribblers Showcase, I had mentioned that two of our members, Julie, a member of our inspiration team, and Pat, a member of our full time team, are both on an extended leave of absence to deal with issues going on in each of their personal lives. Pat will try to join us during our Monthly Scribblers Showcase or during special events, when and as she is able to. It is our hope that both these incredible ladies will be back with us in their respective positions as soon as they possibly can be! In the meantime, they will be sorely missed.

Losing two members from a small team is difficult so that is why I am pleased to announce that we have a new member joining us part time as an Inspiration Scribbler! You'll be seeing her very first project later this month; so, now is a good time to get to know her a bit better.

It is time to meet…

http://creationsnz.blogspot.com/

I am a silver haired wife, mother of four, and nonna of eight, living in Hamilton, New Zealand. I have been a crafter ever since I can remember, and come from a long line of crafters, both men and women. My earliest crafting memory (aged about 3) is making doll clothes by winding ribbon around mum’s wooden pegs and drawing a face on.

Although I have tried most arty-crafty things over my life, paper and fabric are what I love working with, and I find they influence each other in many ways. I don't seem to have a specific style (I’m too easily distracted!) and like to have a go at anything if it looks interesting – I range from CAS to vintage! I took up cardmaking for something to do when we lived in the UK in 2007/08 with my husband’s job and have been cardmaking ever since. I find challenges inspiring and motivating, and I hope you enjoy the mix and be inspired to try something for yourself.

A Big Welcome to our Newest Members!

Hello there folks!  I'm pleased to announce that we have a couple of people joining us here on the team. We have one person joining full time as our newest Design Team Scribbler and one person joining us part time as an Inspiration Scribbler! You'll be seeing projects from both of them starting on Tuesday when we'll be here with our special birthday celebration; so, now is a good time to get to know them a bit better.

First off, I would like to introduce you to Petra, our latest full time Design Team Member.

http://pst-cards.blogspot.com/

My name is Petra and together with my husband I live in the Netherlands. Card making is one of the ways I use to relax from work.

Many years ago I started with the standard 3D images and some origami. Since then I tried many different techniques which make crafting so much fun as you are constantly learning something new. One of my favorite techniques however stays stitching, so you will regularly see stitched cards (hope you don't mind).

The chance of being part of a wonderful design team brought me in contact with other lovely crafters and with using digi stamps. A great experience.

Next up, I am pleased to introduce you to Janice, the latest member of our part time Inspiration Scribbler team. You might recognize her name and work as Janice was one of our Guest Scribblers during the first quarter of 2018.

 https://mycraftroommakes.blogspot.com/

I live in the UK and have enjoyed crafting for many years, being taught to knit and sew at a young age.

My love for card making really started whilst I was cross stitching about 15 years ago. Although I loved making cards from my stitched work, I found they were quite time consuming. After buying a card-making magazine one day, I became hooked on paper crafting.

I love making cards using various techniques, there always seems to be something new to learn. My favourite ‘go to’ items to use, are embossing folders, dies, stamps and digi-stamps.

I am thrilled to have been invited to join the Scribbles Designs Team, as I really enjoyed my time as a Guest Designer last year.

While you are here, I also want to let you know of an internal switch within our teams. Diane Louise is stepping down from the full time team. Thankfully, we aren't losing her completely. Diane Louise will be joining Julie and Janice as a part time Inspiration Scribbler which means that now there will be at least three projects showcased each month during our Monthly Scribblers Showcase.

Before You Go...

Scribbles Designs turns six years old on Tuesday and we'll be celebrating. I hope that you'll join us again at that time. If you'd like to help us spread the word, please grab the badge below and add it your own sidebar linking it back to the Scribbles Designs Blog.  We have lots of awesome prizes planned so mark your calendars and join us again on January 15th!

Welcome to our Newest Design Team Member!

Hey folks! We've got a new category for DT Members over here at Scribbles Designs and today I get to tell you about it and introduce our newest member.

We recently had a DT Call and were extremely lucky to get two new wonderful members from it. However, we didn't get near as many applicants as we'd have liked. We know that people are very busy and I guess two to three creations a month, plus the usual design team duties, are just too much for some. As such, we decided to create a brand new category of DT member for people who would like to join the team but don't have enough time to do everything that is required of our full time members; and ta da, the part time team member category was born.

To keep things organized all of our members will fall into one of three categories:
  • Full time DT members will be known as Design Team Scribblers.
  • Part time DT members will be referred to as Inspiration Scribblers.
  • Guest Designers will be called Guest Scribblers.

In general, our Inspiration Scribblers will have projects showcased during our Monthly Inspiration post scheduled for the 23rd of each month. They may also create projects to promote upcoming sponsorships we have going on. If they have extra time on their hands and create more than one project during the month, you might even see their work during our challenge posts. The new position opens up several different scenarios and we look forward to bringing more people on into the position.

I am so very pleased to announce that we already have our very first Inspiration Scribbler. Let's meet her shall we?!

My name is Julie Odil and I’ve always been creative – I play many instruments, like to write, and have been crafty my whole life. I began scrapbooking almost a decade ago and then got into card-making a few years later, but things really took off when I began my blog in 2012. It was a life changing experience. I can’t believe how much fun I’ve had and how many friends I’ve made through my blog. I’d love it if you’d stop by for a visit!

I am definitely a paper addict and have recently discovered the joy of digital papers. Imagine! Love a beautiful pattern? Just print more! I also have a bit of a collection of stamps (rubber, digital, clear), embellishments, ribbons, dies, markers, die cutting machines. Yeah, you get the idea. I love to create — cards, 3D projects, home decor, I never know what direction I am heading in next.  I really love working with digi images, and Scribbles Designs has such fun ones! I’m super excited to be a part of this very talented team!

Please join me in welcoming Julie to our team! If you have a chance, why not pop over and say hi! You can find her personal blog either by clicking on her name header or her blog address listed above.

Would you like to join our team? Remember, we have three different categories of members--full time, part time and guest positions for three month periods. While our DT Call is officially over, if you are interested in joining us or simply finding out more, you can find all the details of the full time position by clicking HERE. If you would like to learn more about the responsibilities associated with either the part time position or guest one, you can send an email to the same address that appears on that post and I can fill you in.

Well that is it for this one folks. Be sure to pop over on Friday when we'll be back with our Monthly Inspiration post where Julie makes her debut.

Happy crafting until that time!!!

A Big Welcome to our Newest Design Team Members!

Hey there folks! I'm pleased to announce that we have two new members joining our team full time.

Helen N., from Made by Helen,  and Lori S., from My Happy Life, will officially be joining us for the start of the next challenge. I thought that it would be nice to get to know them a little bit before that time.

http://craftinghelen.blogspot.com/

My name is Helen and I live in a small town called West Kirby which is in the north west of Britain - the nearest big city to us is Liverpool.  I work for an organisation called The Abbeyfield Society which is a world-wide charity providing care for older people.  I'm an Activities Coordinator and I work in a care home and two sheltered houses providing activities for the residents.  We craft, play dominoes, do crosswords and do chair exercises as well as enjoying music and films together.  I've been making cards for many years and love stamping, working with digi stamps and colouring with Promarkers.  I'm really looking forward to being part of the Scribbles Designs team.

Hello! My name is Lori and I live in Missouri with my husband and our two sons. My husband and I have been married for almost 28 years and we have a daughter (27) and two sons (19 and 17). My daughter is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a daughter (4) that I get the pleasure of keeping during the day while her Mommy teaches.

I was introduced to scrapbooking by my sister who bought me a Creating Keepsakes magazine when my oldest son was born back in 1998. I have been hooked ever since! Card making soon followed and I love how quick and easy they can be to make.

I love to spend time in my craft room creating - it is what really relaxes me after a long day.I have a pretty clean and simple style, but I do love to add some layers once in awhile, too.

I am so excited and honored to be a part of the Scribbles Designs Design Team and I can't wait to get started!

A Big Welcome to our Newest Design Team Member!

Hey there folks. I'm pleased to announce that we have a new member joining our team full time. Pippa, from Views from the Craftroom, will be officially joining us for the start of the next challenge. Although I cannot draw to save my life I have always loved colouring things in. Years ago, too many to recall now, a friend introduced me to stamping and the rest is history. I am now working on improving my colouring and learning new techniques along the way. I also knit, crochet, cross stitch (when the mood takes me) and love reading. I work part time in a local primary school as a teaching assistant until the end of the Summer Term when I am set to retire due to deterioration of a congenital heart problem. I am married to Tim, who retired from the ministry last September; we have two grown up daughters, Becky and Rachel, both now married and a mad cat called Finnegan.

My name is AJ and I'm excited to be part of the talented DT at Scribbles Designs.  I've been papercrafting for almost 18 years now.  I started with scrapbooking, but changed to cardmaking a few years ago.  I love working with digital images, it's so easy to print them and start coloring, which is my favorite part!  I live in South Carolina with my husband and son.  We have 2 rescue dogs that we love and adore.  My perfect day is coloring images, with a hot mug of tea, listening to podcasts or radio.
