IHSW results :)

"Just a Little Autumn" by Sandra Dering stitched on 18ct Aida and
I'm just starting on "Autumn Blessings" by Plum Street Samplers.

I have to admit,
I've been so focused on Christmas
that I almost missed the fact that fall is favorite time of year!
So this weekend I stitched some Autumn themed
charts to get into the fall spirit :)
The weather here has been over 100 degrees
this past week and that is definitely
NOT much like fall weather,
but I'm determined to pretend it's fall!
This week I'll be baking pumpkin muffins
and busting out my pumpkin scented candles :)

All kinds of fun stuff...

This weekend was another International Hermit and Stitch weekend.
So that's what I did as often as I could :)
Cross stitch is so wonderfully relaxing for me.
I just love it.
I'm working on this "Love and Be Loved"
by With Thy Needle & Thread.
I'm going to finish it as a  pillow for my bedroom.

I also had to share photos of my beautiful granddaughters
 wearing their new jumpers.
This is Sofie and her beautiful Mommy :)

And this is Evie (little Ms. Independent)
They are just so adorable I almost can't stand it!

And before I forget,
here is my ORT (old ratty threads) jar
for my August TUSAL report.

And last but not least,
I'm going to be taking part if the Quilter's Blog Hop Party with Give-aways!
You can jump over to QuiltingGallery.com  to learn more about it
or just come back here on August 25th to see what I'll be giving away :)

A bit of Stitchin and Patriotism :)

Well it's time again for the Internation Hermit & Stitch Weekend!
And it couldn't come at a better time.
We've had lots of birthday festivities the last few weeks
and this weekend will be relatively quiet.
Sometimes it's just nice to slow down for a minute.
I just started the Jumping Cat and hopefully
I'll have some progress before the weekend is over :)

I also wanted to show you the fabulous goodies
I received in the Stitched with Love exchange.
You can see the entire gallery here.
It was a Patriotic theme this time around
and look what I received from Jen
(you NEED to check out her fun blog!)
She's an amazing stitcher!
Look at what she sent me!
I was spoiled for sure!!!

Here's a closer look at her beautiful stitching skills!

This is what I stitched and sent to Marjorie.
She loves primitive decor so I tried my best
to keep it in that vein.
I made her some reversible coasters
using Osnaburg and Homespun fabrics in red & blue
and finished the stitchery in a small pillow with some vintage buttons.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!!
I know I'll be stitchin' and sewin'
(and cleanin' and cookin'......*sigh*)

FNSI and IHSW results :)

First - my FNSI results:
I know I showed you pictures of Sweetwater fabric
and I said I was going to sew curtains.......but......
I didn't have enough fabric to make the style
of curtains that my daughter in law wanted :(
I did, however,
have a project that needed my attention.
2 of my grandsons needed me to replace
some of their little felt dinosaurs
that had been loved to death :)
You can read more about the dinos here.
So I cut and stitched these little guys for them.
They were super happy to have
their "Kung Fu Dino Posse" complete again!

Now for my International Hermit & Stitch Weekend result:
I finished my "America" by Little House Needleworks
It is stitched on 32ct evenweave over 1 thread.
I love to stitch super tiny crosses over 1.
It looks so compact and bold.
I changed out all the colors to what I liked
that I had on hand.

And last, but not least
some of the Father's Day fun
that I was working on:
Every year I made a special Father's Day card
for my hubby.
It's his favorite thing
and he looks forward to it more than Christmas!
You can see some of his previous cards here.
This year I went with Despicable Me :)
(I love me some Minions!!!)
Took me an entire day
to cut out  those tiny blue overalls
and those goggles were tricky too!
Those are our 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
He loved his card!
Now I have another year to start
planning his next card :)

I also made some mug rugs for my hubby
and our son and son in law.
I used fabrics to match their offices
and phrases that they each use
that would make them smile :)

I baked up some chocolate chip cookies for the Dad's at church.
I found these great free printable labels on the net.
Gotta love the Internet!

All in all it was a busy weekend.
We had a fabulous Father's Day with all our children
and grandchildren :)
Hope yours was lovely too!
