Just Me

Hi!  Louise here with a project Lisa has made which she has titled
'Just Me'.
This is a mini album in an ATC box that folds flat open.
The base box is the ATC box kit by My Creative Spirit.  Lisa has painted the edges black and used black masking tape for the 'hindges' to allow the box to open flat.  Top Tip : A black sharpie is great for touching up any bits missed when painting!
Lisa has decorated the box with papers from a paper pad called 'I am' by Simple Stories.

Here's the front of the box:

And here's the box as you start to open it:

The box folds out flat when opened and in the centre there is a mini album that is attached to base.
The pages are adorned with pockets, tabs, flaps and lots of pretty details :)
You can place photos and little notes in the pockets and tabs.
The complete box is all kept together with a pretty hinge fastener from The Hobby House.

Here's some photos of the inside pages showing off the lovely papers:

The papers include little motifs to cut out and decorate the pages with:

The WRMK thumb notch punch has been used to create a notch in the top pocket here along with the euro tag punch for the tags in the side pocket.

Love this EK success scroll edge punch and the Bo Bunny elegant border heart die design used here:

A complete list of the products Lisa has used for this project, are:-
'I am' 6x6 paper pad
Tim Holtz bow punch

Brass catch by The Hobby House

Graphic 45 Mixed Media Box and Prima Almanac Album

Hello, today we have a beautiful album in a box made by Lisa.
Lisa has made a small album to go into the box using a 6 x 6 paper pad
called Almanac collection by Prima to decorate with throughout the project.

The box is by Graphic 45 and Lisa used the black one, but it also comes in Ivory and Kraft,
you do get 6 cardstock photo mats inside the box too.

The mixed media box has a window cut out of the front so you can see what is on the
front of the album.

Photo mats are added to the pages and Lisa used a decorative corner punch
through out the album called corner triple.

On the page above Lisa has created a pocket with some of the papers.

Lisa has added a tag to the one page and used a bird cage die on the next page called
Caged bird by Tim Holtz

The papers are so pretty that you do not need lots of extras, on this page lisa only added
little butterflies punched from a Martha Stewart punch called 3 in 1 classic butterfly.

Here is a side view

On the side of the box Lisa used a rustic label holder.

A large filigree metal corner is used on the bottom right of box.
Lisa has added some paper flowers and leaves to decorate the top corner.
Lisa will be running a class in the new year to make this beautiful box and album
so be sure to watch out for it.

Once Upon a Springtime Album by Lisa

We have another instore weekend retreat lined up for November this year and repeated in January 2016. Lisa will be teaching this amazing ‘album in a box’ which features another of the limited edition collector's packs from Graphic 45 - Once Upon a Springtime.

The album is actually part of a box. And the top of the box is just beautiful. Lisa likes her fussy cutting and you can tell by the amount of delicately cut out animals, flower and foliage she’s incorporated.

BOX TOP

The inside of the box then opens out to reveal lots of pretty pages. All with the same format and all using the gorgeous papers from the Once Upon a Springtime deluxe collector’s edition pack. There are magnets and flaps and pockets and all the cool album techniques Lisa loves to feature when creating her albums.

Mini Album by Lisa Maybank using Garment District 6x6 paper pad

This beautiful mini album was created by Lisa for an all-day class at Sir Stampalot. The mini album is sewing themed and uses the 6x6 Garment District pad by Marion Smith Designs.

There's lots of fun techniques and products Lisa has used on this project, including the (unfortunately discontinued) Sewing Room die and on the edge Sewing die.

Lisa has used the Button Box embossing folder, mini spools and metallic wax rub-ons.

Love the handle, it's by The Hobby House and the Pearl Strings to accent the front cover.

Take a peek for yourself, isn't it cool? Each page is made from one 12x12 black sheet of Bazzill and folded so that you get flaps and pockets.

Enjoy :)

Times Nouveau

Don’t the weeks pass so quickly? Well another “weekender” session at Sir Stampalot is nearly upon us :)

Lisa will be teaching here this weekend. She’s created this amazing album using the deluxe edition pack from Graphic 45 – Times Nouveau. Lisa has already taught this class once but due to the interest she’s running it again this weekend. I was so busy last time I didn’t get to see the girls putting the album together so I hope to be able to take several sneaky peeks at what they are doing over the course of the weekend.

Here's a couple of pictures of the front cover:

Lisa has used one of the Hobby House drawer knobs and the Tim Holtz elastic band to create the closure for the album. A lone hitch fastener is attached to the clock on the front cover to create a hidden spot behind if you open it :)

The inside front cover has a little open pocket to slide in a tag or notes, along with some 3/4 sized pockets for tags 'n things:

Lisa has created a little waterfall on the next page with a closure using one of the designs from the paper.

Plenty of flaps and pull out sections with chipboard closures using the chipboard pieces from the Times Nouveau kit.

Lovin' the big dotty paper:

you've guessed it, more flaps and flippy bits!

and then finishing off on the back inside pages with a grid area for multiple mini photos.

And finally the back cover. A drawer ring holding the elasic in place and a border edge punch on the spine cover:

Amazing, classy and elegant :)

Another album made completely from scratch. It makes you feel so good as you go throughout the day just using G45 papers, some Bazzill and chipboard and suddenly you have an album forming – a real satisfying feeling :)

Teresa Collins Noel Album by Lisa

Hello everyone, after several of your requests to see more of Lisa's class project for the Teresa Collins Noel Album after we'd mentioned it on facebook, here it is :)

Most of of the materials she used are in the kit, the additions include black bazzill card for matting the photos and cricut cut outs to add extra festive embellishments.

Here's the front page:

You could even use the decorations from the outside of Christmas crackers in your crafty projects too:

Once Lisa had cut all the 12x12 pages included in the kit to the same shape as the outside covers of the album from the kit, the fun job of embellishing can commence!
Lisa loves her hidden pockets for popping in tags for journing, extra photos or just as is:
as well as a cool hidden area!

Really love this blocked look on the left hand page. Cut up offcuts into squares and rectangles, ink the edges if you so wish and create a mosiac look:

Cool borders, pockets and rosettes:
This rosette is easy to create, use a strip from the offcuts of cardstock, then a border punch all the way down the strip (Lisa had used the Woodware ribbon crafty edger design here), create an accordian fold all the way down the strip matching up with the ribbon slot designs. Fold the mountains and valleys, then adhere the two ends together. Fold flat and pinch together to create a rosette design. Where there's a hole in the middle, cover with something cool and coordinating.

Lisa has too much fun playing with pockets and tags!
Lisa used 2 nesting sized circle cut outs and an eyelet along with some twine, to create her own closure on this cute envelope:
And she's used offcuts from the cardstock to create a collaged pocket:

More cool ideas on these pages:
Just check out the black ribbon and white buckle used here on the page edge, looking just like santa's belt buckle:

Some different ideas on this next double page:
The ribbon included in the kit has been used to create a ribbon board, so you can slide in tags, photos, journalling, memorabilia:
And Lisa has embossed some cardstock to use as a photo mat, and used metallic wax rubons to highlight the embossed areas:

Here's some blank pages ready to decoarte:

and then the back cover including name of the creator. The album is then held together with the book rings in the kit and offcuts of the ribbon from the kit to embellish the book rings:

Hope you all enjoyed that. Great project to adapt for any occasion.
Enjoy!
Until next time....
