A Spooky Monster Filled House: Wonderfully Wicked

Good evening!

I hope you are enjoying all the trick-or-treating festivities.  It's looking like the bad weather is going to hold off so fingers crossed we get all the fun in before it starts.

Early this fall I saw this great project a fellow demonstrator shared using a wooden house from the Dollar Store, it was so awesome I had to run out and buy what my local store had that say to make it adding my own touches.

This house started with covering it in Monster Bash Designer Series Paper and after sanding around all the edges sponging the edges in Basic Black ink.

Next I cut out some of the creatures from another piece of the DSP to be peaking inside the windows as well as stamping a couple using the Spooktacular Bash stamp set and coloring them in with Stampin' Blends.

I used the Wonderfully Wicked bundle for the greeting including cutting the "Wicked" out of the Black Foil as well as using the dies to cut out several spooky spiders which were attached with Black dimensionals.  I stamped the bat from the Wonderfully Wicked set on Basic Black cardstock using Whisper White craft ink and cut it out with Paper Snips (I colored 2 small pears with a Dark Real Red Blends pen for the eyes).

The final touch was to add some apothecary jars from the Spooktacular Bash stamp set which were colored with Stampin' Blends and after cutting them out I added Shimmery Crystal Effects so they looked like they were filled with liquid.

Didn't this just turn out awesome?  I really did the happy dance once I was finished and love all the little touches.  These houses are so great and you could definitely do them for other occasions as well, Christmas one perhaps?

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 22

Good morning!  So as you may recall I like to make little gifts so end kids in our family for the various holidays and especially for Thanksgiving I always make a gift for the kids that attend our Thanksgiving fun.  Earlier this year I found these Carmel Apple Flavored chocolates that are shaped as apples and as soon as I saw them knew they would be perfect for a fun little Thanksgiving gift.  Then I found that the chocolates fit perfectly in our 2" x 8" cello bags and I was set.

To make the tags I used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to make the Crumb Cake oval base and the greeting is from the Labels to Love stamp set and after stamping in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock I punched it out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  Isn't this little pumpkin cute?  It's from the Autumn Harvest Designer Series Paper and all I did was cut it out with Paper Snips and attached it to the tag with a dimensional.  I tied the tag to the cello bag using the Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon and it dressed the whole thing up.

I know the kids will love this no matter if we're spending the holiday with them or those who are far away that received these in the mail.  This project was so easy to put together with just a few supplies you can still make these in time for your Thanksgiving guests!

SSINKspiration Halloween Fun: Spooky Cat Halloween Treats

Good morning!  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing some Halloween fun projects.  Since I spent some time this weekend wrapping up my gifts for Halloween I decided to share two really simple treats I made.  Both projects use the Spooky Cat stamp set and coordinating products from the Spooky Night Product Suite.

The first project is this cute treat bag that was inspired by Cindee Wilkinson's Christmas treats (see details HERE).  I needed a bag a little bigger so I used a 6"x6" piece of DSP and adjusted the score lines and this bag is able to hold a few Fun Sized candy pieces.  These bags are also small enough that I was able to mail them for the kids we won't be seeing on Halloween night.

The second projects is a mini Pizza Box I decorated for Aidan.  It's amazing how much candy these little boxes hold (they also will fix 3x3 cards, or jewelry (just saying!!)).I did use a piece of retired baker's twine because it was a bit more masculine than the black crochet trim  for my little dude.

Spooky Cat Halloween Treat

Good morning!  It's been a crazy week and I'm definitely looking forward to a little down time this weekend.  With Halloween being less than 2 weeks away I've been busying working on wrapping up some cards and gifts I want to get in the mail in time.  I'm a big fan of these big puffy mints and was very intrigued when I saw they came out with pumpkin spice flavored puffs and wanted to show them off in the treat wrapping, so I turned to the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes.

To decorate the boxes I wrapped a piece of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper around the box and then tied some Vintage Crochet Trim around the box.  I used the Spooky Cat stamp set for both pieces of the label.  The oval is Very Vanilla and was cut out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits and then I used some Pumpkin Pie cardstock for the center piece and popped it up with dimensionals.

This treat is super easy and would be great for a party favor, class treat, etc.
