Fab Friday Color Sketch: Oh, My Goodies!

Happy Wednesday!  I've been having a little extra play time in the studio lately (yeah) so I've been enjoying making some cards using some of the stamps that will be retiring.  For this card I decided to use the Fab Friday color sketch and this was great since Lost Lagoon has been one of my favorite recent In Colors and it's retiring this month as well.

I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the cardbase and then used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardfront, which I embossed with the Big Shot and Brick Wall Embossing Folder (and then sponged all over with Soft Suede ink to highlight the embossing).  I added some sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment, as well as the In Color Sequins (retired).

For the stamped image I used the Oh, My Goodies stamp set (retiring) and used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the image before stamping on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits (retiring) to cut out the greeting along with the mat using Soft Sky cardstock.  For the mat I embossed it with the Big Shot and the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and then sponged around the edges with Lost Lagoon ink.  I wanted some extra texture so I added a piece of ruffled Hello Honey 5/8" Stitched Cotton Ribbon (retiring) along with some tags of Pool Party 3/8" Glitter Ribbon (retiring, this stuff is awesome!!)

This saying is so great and something we should all strive for.  I love how these colors work together and you can "antique" the look by just adding a little sponging, and of course sequins and glitter make everything better!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS29: Oh My Goodies

Happy Monday!  One of the things I absolute love to celebrate (and I love celebrations of all kinds) are birthdays because we all have them and what's not to love about your birthday?  I have a dear friend who's birthday was yesterday so I decided to use this month's card sketch over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog (I also use lots of goodies from the Occasions catalog which was fun!).

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then took a piece of Mint Macaron (I'm seriously in love with this color, oh my!!) and embossed it with the Big Shot and the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper and offset them and then added a couple pieces of It's My Party Washi Tape on the edges.

For the greeting I used the Oh My Goodies stamp set and stamped it twice, once using Mint Macaron ink on Whisper White cardstock (and cut it out with the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits) and a second time with Basic Black ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and cut out just the center of the greeting using Paper Snips.  Behind the greeting I added a flower I cut out of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and the Floral Frames FramelitsDimensionals were used on both layers of the greeting and the final touch was a small bow tied with the Melon Mambo Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Combo Pack.

I had so much fun with this card and my friend love the glitter paper and different elements, it's going to go on her piano at home, how cool!!  The design team is sharing some other great cards using this sketch so go check them out and then play and long and share so we can enjoy your creation!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC26: Oh My Goodies

Good morning!  It's day 2 of the Gratitude challenge and I decided to combine this with the  SSINKspiration color sketch to create a fun card using another new stamp set and some designer series paper multi-purposed.  Anytime you can use a product that is marketed for a specific purpose and show other uses of it really helps extend it's value and functionality!

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped on it with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Crumb Cake and Old Olive ink.  Next I used two pieces of DSP from the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper stack (these patterns are great since you can use them for things other than Christmas) and matted them with a strip of Old Olive cardstock.

For the greeting, I used the Oh My Goodies stamp set (another new one in the studio) and stamped it once using Blackberry Bliss ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits.  I stamped the greeting a second time, using Cherry Cobbler ink on Old Olive cardstock and then used Paper Snips to just cut out the portion of the greeting and used dimensionals to pop the "thanks" piece up.  The final touch was to add a piece of Blackberry Bliss 5/8" Stitched Cotton Ribbon.

I really like the images in this stamp set and can't wait to use it many more times in the future, and these colors really go will together, will have to remember them again for the future.  The other designers are sharing some great cards using this color combination for ideas and then come play along and share your creations so we all can enjoy!
