Fab Friday Color Challenge #FABFri69: A Whole Lot of Lovely

Good morning!  The first days of August are here and  we’re busy enjoying every last minute before school starts up at the end of the month (how is that possible).  It’s also been an exciting week since as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I’ve had a sneak peak of the upcoming Holiday catalog and even got to order some products from it yesterday (unfortunately my wallet wouldn’t support me ordering everything on my wish list, at this time!!), love this perk of being a demonstrator!!  I had a little bit of time for some fun stamping so today I decided to play along with this weeks Fab Friday blog which is a color challenge.  Stepping back from birthdays I decided to make a fun all occasion card to let someone know how special they are.

I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that I stamped with the Woodgrain Stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink and then sponged it with Crumb Cake ink.  Next I took a piece of Blackberry Bliss and ran it through the Big Shot with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die which created this fun cutout that reminds me of a peak through a fence.

For the greeting I used the A Whole Lot of Lovely Hostess Set and used Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp before stamping on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I punched the greeting out with the 2” Circle Punch and then added little pearls to the center of each card.  Behind the greeting I added some loops of Linen Thread as well as a piece of Mossy Meadow 3/8” Stitched Cotton Ribbon (used Fast Fuse to attach the ribbon so it ruffled).  I also added a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock that was cut out with the Big Shot and Floral Frames Collection Framelits and then embossed it with the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder and added a pearl to the center of the flower (colored it with a Sharpie first).

I just had a lot of fun with this card adding lots of little elements but don’t think it went overboard, and is still fairly mailable.  There are some fabulous hostess sets in this years catalog so make sure to check them out and you can get them for FREE, ask me how!

Project Portfolio Full of Inspiration

Good morning friends!  Boy this week is flying by, we've been on the go non-stop between work, school, baseball practice, getting my runs in getting ready for this weekends race, etc. but I wouldn't have it any other way we always have lots of fun.  So today I have a special post to share.  One of my highlights every year is the opportunity to attend Stampin' Up!'s Annual Convention in Salt Lake City.  This is a fabulous time where we can connect with friends and fellow demonstrators from all over the country, see exciting new products and ideas, and more.  Convention always has some fabulous displays of projects made by fellow demonstrators which are truly amazing and inspiring.  This year we have the opportunity to apply to be a display stamper for this year's convention and we have to submit a portfolio of projects to be considered by the Stampin' Up! team.   I always love these projects and have decided to take the plunge and apply to be a display stamper this year so below is the portfolio of projects I'm submitting, which consists of 3 cards, 2 3D items, and one scrapbook page.

This first card uses lots of great products from the Occasions catalog, including the Woodgrain,  Petite Petals (with matching punch) and Hip Notes stamp sets to make a soft and springy card.

My second card is nice and yummy, perfect for any birthday greeting.  It used the Sketched Birthday stamp set and the cake was colored in with Stampin' Write Markers so you could just eat it.  Texture with the Arrows Embossing folder, flags, and lots of layers really make this card pop.

The final card I have is perfect for the little new arrival and uses the Baby, We've Grown stamp set, On Film Framelits, and lots of bling with Gold Paper and Gold Sequin trim that will make anyone sparkle when they receive it.

Next we move onto the 3D items and I have two very different projects to share with you.  The first is a treat box using the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes, the Yippee-Skippee stamp set and lots of fun accessories that really make it stand out.  The great thing about this box is that it can really be recycled and given multiple times by just changing out what is in the box.

The second item is a fun décor item for Valentine's Day.  I used the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper for the color palette and used a wood cutout piece of the base, painted it White and used different papers, including DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper, and embossed Coredin'ations Cardstock to cover each of letters.  I decided to dress up the piece with punched hearts, elements that I printed out of My Digital Studio, ribbon, the "xoxo" cut out with the Big Shot and Thinlit die, and stamped images from the Love You to the Moon stamp set.

The last item I want to share is a scrapbook page I made using My Digital Studio from our recent cruise.  This page uses lots of punched elements to showcase pictures, designer series paper, and text so we remember all the special times. I got several of the tropical embellishments from an MDS download and created with Mickey head with circle punch pieces in different sizes.

I really had a lot of fun assembly this project collection and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.  I love all the different products Stampin' Up! offers and how they all work together to make the perfect project for any occasion.

Fab Friday Color Challenge: Hip Petite Petals

Welcome to Wednesday friends!  I have to admit this cold winter is really wearing on me and I'm ready for spring.  I was so excited when I saw this weeks Fab Friday color challenge since I love these colors and their really helping me get into a springtime frame of mind.   For this card I started with Coastal Cabana for the cardbase and added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock that was stamped with the Woodgrain stamp with Crumb Cake ink and then I sponged around the edges with the same ink.  I added some Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and then lots of flowers that were stamped with the Petite Petals stamp set and punched them out with the coordinating Petite Petals Punch.  I used my bone folder to curl up the edges of the flowers and then used a glue dot on the back of each flower so the have more dimension and texture.

For the greeting I sued the Hip Notes stamp set (this set is so fresh and fun) and colored it in with Stampin' Write Markers before punching it out with the Large Oval Punch and sponged around of the edges of the oval with Crumb Cake ink.  I used the Decorative Label Punch and some Coastal Cabana cardstock to make the perfect mat.

This card is so bright and cheery it is really helping me warm up and think that spring really will be here soon.  This is such a versatile color combination, it looks great for Christmas as well as all occasion cards, make sure to pin this so you can use it on your upcoming projects.

Happy stamping,

Diana
