SSINKspiration Blog Hop: Surprise Baby Shower!

Good morning!  Spring is here (even if there’s seems to be a little battle to get winter to officially leave, haha!)  and with spring comes thoughts of new things and arrivals.  On the Stylin’Stampin’ INKspiration blog that one of our team members Kim Ryden was expecting her third baby next month.  Of course we’ve all been very excited for this new arrival so we’ve decided to dedicate this months blog hop as a surprise virtual baby shower for Kim (all the projects shown in this months hop will be making their way to Kim’s nursery).  This is also perfect timing since little Mister Micah decided he was ready to join the family and arrived last weekend, whoo hoo!!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number #8 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Donna at Geek Squad Crafting. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I made two items for the new mom, a card and fun 3D item.  For the card I decided to combine a couple of different challenges for inspiration, specifically the Fab Friday color challenge and the Creativate  sketch challenge (I love when I can use different sketch and color challenges for inspiration to get the creative juices flowing.

For the card I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then took a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Confetti Embossing Folder.  For the center strip I layered Whisper White and So Saffron cardstock and then wrapped some Basic Black Baker’s Twine around the layers before attaching to the cardfront.
These little ducks are so cute and are from the Something for Baby stamp set and I used So Saffron and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images before stamping.  I used Paper Snips to cut out each of the ducks and then cut out Pool Party and Calypso Coral circles using the Big Shot and the Circle Collection Framelits for the perfect mat.  There are tons of dimensionals attaching the circles and the ducks to the cardfront.  The final touch was the greeting and I used the Suite Sayings stamp set and stamped it in Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and then punched it out using the Washi Label Punch, dimensionals were used to attach the greeting to the cardfront.
When Micah decided to arrive early I was still working on a gift idea and then I remembered how much I enjoyed receiving items that commemorated my son’s birth so that’s what I decided to make.  I found this great frame that has two openings so Kim can add her favorite picture to the bottom.  On the top I used a piece of retired designer series paper (Basic Gray) as a mat for a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had printed Micah’s statics (I used a Star Wars font since I’ve heard the Ryden’s are Star Wars fans).  Then I stamped some more images from the Something for Baby stamp set, cut them out and attached them to the cardstock with dimensionals.  The final touch was to added some pieces of ribbon and bow for a colorful accent (most of the ribbon pieces are retired but I did use a piece of Whisper White 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon which is current).
I don’t make lots of baby items but I really had fun with this and hope that Kim enjoys them.  I love  how fun and easy it is to make personal and unique gifts for any occasion you may need.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS32: Bravo

Happy Monday!  What a crazy weekend, I think we saw almost every type of weather on Saturday (except for warm weather) but it did change our plans and gave us some unexpected family time which is always fun, and I even had time in the studio which is always refreshing.  Since it's the second Monday of the month, you know it's time for this months card sketch challenge over on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog.  Bree gave us a really fun sketch this month to play with and I decided to use for a congratulations card (with SOL testing coming up soon I like to have some cards on hand to cheer Aidan on as he works so hard to get ready for complete these test, it can be a little stressful.

I started with Garden Green cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Schoohouse Designer Series Paper (love that this looks like notebook paper).  On the DSP I stamped splatter using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Garden Green and Daffodil Delight ink.

For the greeting I used the Bravo stamp set and stamped on Pool Party cardstock using Garden Green ink and then matted it with Tangerine Tango cardstock.  I added a piece of Pacific Point 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon to the side for a little flair.

For the final elements I decided to go with stars, you know I love them.  I used the Big Shot and Star Framelits dies to cut a star outline out of Gold Glimmer Paper and the Brights Designer Series Paper (used Pacific Point).  For the smallest star inside the gold star I used another piece of the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper and the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I used dimensionals to attach the two smallest stars to the cardront.

I definitely seem to be in a brights frame of mood right now (maybe I'm compensating for the delayed spring) but I love the bright cheery colors and know my little man with enjoy the message and bit of bling (and not a trace of pink in sight which he really dislikes).  The other design team members have also made some great cards using this sketch layout so make sure to go check them out for inspiration and then come play along.

SSINKspriation Occasions Catalog Bundles: Sunburst Sayings

Good morning!  As you know, one of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is our coordinating products, stamps, punches, framelits/thinlits, papers, etc. when it is designed to work together it really helps take a lot of the guess work out of crafting for us and now Stampin’ Up! offers some of these coordinating products as bundles so we get to save 15% when we purchase the items that naturally go together (bonus!!)  Today over on the SSINKspiration  blog we’re sharing projects made with our favorite product bundle items from the Occasions Catalog.  There are so many great bundles to choose from but I decided to use the Sunburst Thinlit and coordinating stamp set (one, it’s a recent addition to my studio, and 2, the framelit is currently one of the weekly deal specials so if you didn’t want the stamp set you could purchase just the framelit and save some money this week!!)

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Soft Sky cardstock to mat the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and wrapped a piece of Hello Honey 5/8” Striped Cotton Ribbon around the bottom with a knot.

For the main image I used the Big Shot and Sunburst Thinlits Dies and cut a piece of Hello Honey Cardstock.  I used the coordinating stamp set, Sunburst Sayings and stamped the dotted lines on the sunburst using Hello Honey ink. Next I took the Square Framelits collection and some Very Vanilla cardstock and used two framelits to create a frame (and rubbed around the frame with a sponge and Crumb Cake ink.  Next I took a piece of Soft Sky cardstock for the background of the sunburst and aligned it in my frame the way I wanted and trimmed off the excess.

For the center of the sunburst I stamped the greeting also from Sunburst Sayings, using Basic Black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, punched it out with the 1 3/8” Circle Punch and sponged around the edge with Soft Sky ink.  I used the Circle Collection Framelits and Big Shot to cut a mat for the greeting out of Gold Glimmer Paper and attached both circle pieces to the sunburst with dimensionals (lots of them!!)

This card turned out so bright and cheery (but I’ll admit I stamped the dotted lines on the sunburst after I attached the frame, if I had remembered I would have done it before so it was easier.  Sometimes you just need to let people know that you’re thinking of them and care and this card is perfect for that!  the other design team members are sharing some great cards using their favorite Occasions bundles so make sure to go check them out!

Retro Sketchs Sketch Challenge: Giggle Greetings

Good morning!  It’s been a super stressful week with a major family issue we’ve been dealing with and I have to admit, I’ll be very happy once it’s resolved.  I was able to get a little time in the studio last night and found this fun sketch challenge over on the Retro Sketches blog so I decided to play along.  I was looking through my stamp collection and realized I haven’t been showing a lot of love to some of my stamp sets from the main catalog and since we’ll be starting to think about next years catalog soon I decided to show some love to some of these great stamp sets.

I started with Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then took a piece of Basic Gray cardstock for the cardfront and embossed it with the Big Shot and Chevron Embossing Folder.  Next I decided to use the School House Designer Series Paper (love this paper!!) and cut a large oval using the Big Shot and Oval Collection Framelits and then layered three different strips of the coordinating DSP in different lengths and dimensions for a fun focal effect.

For the main stamped image I used the Giggle Greetings stamp set but just wanted the image and not the words so I inked the stamp up with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with a 2” Circle Punch.  I used blender pens and Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the cute little dog.   I added a piece of Pacific Point 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon and folded it over for a couple of flags under the greeting.  The greeting is from the Boys will be Boys stamp set (another one of my favorites!!) and it was stamped using Basic Gray ink on Tangelo Twist Ink.  The greeting and the circle stamped image were both attached to the cardfront with dimensions.

For the final element I wanted to add a button accent but there isn’t a yellow button in the Bights Button Package so I used the Crushed Curry button from the Regals Buttons Package and it coordinates perfectly and Basic Black Baker’s Twine was used to tie a bow in the button before attaching it to the cardfront.

The colors as so fun and cheery I love it and it using so many of my favorite stamps and products, it just makes me smile.  Now to figure out the perfect person to give this card to….

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC32: Feel Goods

Good morning!  What a crazy weekend, that weather really impacted our weekend activities, from Boy Scout Trout-a-ree to the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler the weather and particularly the wind really was a force to be reckoned with.  It's time for another color challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog and I decided to focus on some products from the Annual catalog that may be overlooked at times.
I started with Marina Mist cardstock for the cardbase and then layered a piece of Pear Pizzaz cardstock behind a Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I started by stamping the swirl design from the Chalk Lines stamp set in Pear Pizzaz ink and then took the Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to outline the swirls for a little sparkle (see the close up picture).  Next I took the splatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped in both Marina Mist and Pear Pizzaz ink.  I used some Fast Fuse adhesive to attach a strip of Marina Mist 1/4" Cotton Ribbon across the center of the cardfront.
For the greeting I stamped this saying (one of my favorites!!) from the Feel Goods stamp set and stamped on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the 2 1/2" circle punch before sponging around the edge with Pear Pizzaz cardstock.  For the mat for the circle I started by cutting a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock using the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits and then embossed it with the Brickwall Embossing folder (and then sponged all over with Sahara Sand ink).  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting piece to the cardfront.  To finish things off I took strip of pearls and colored them with a marker (use a sharpie or Blendabilities marker) before attaching them to the card.

I had lots of fun with this card and was really feeling this message this weekend, which we all need.   Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and then play along with use, would to see what you come up with.

SSINKspiration Sparkle and Shine: Baby Bling!

Good morning!  I really had fun yesterday for my birthday, the guys really spoiled me and had fun.  Today I decided to take a break from birthdays and make a card to celebrate babies using todays's sparkle and shine theme over on the SSINKspiration blog.  I have a dear friend who recently had a new princess so I decided to make a card with lots of bling to celebrate.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added took a card from the Hello Baby Girl Project Life by Stampin' Up cards and cut it down for the cardfront.  The greeting is from the Big News stamp set and after stamping it in Basic Gray ink on Mint Macaron cardstock I cut it out using the Big Shot and Lots of Labels Framelits (then cut it down to make it skinnier with my paper cutter and sponged around the edges with Basic Gray ink).  I also added two Pink Pirouette candy dots from the Subtles Candy Dots package on the sides of the greeting.

I used the 2" Circle Punch and Silver Foil Sheets to make the half circle on the bottom of the greeting and punched out a little banner using the Banner Punch and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The final touch was to add some sequins from the Metallics Sequin Collection for a final sparkly accent.

It's great to use the Project Life cards for things other than memory keeping and this helped determine the color pallete and accents for the card (plus my friends loves green so I know this will be a hit).

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge 83: Botanicals for You

Good morning!  There’s only two days left of Sale-a-bration 2016 and I feel like there are lots of great products during this promotion that I haven’t really gotten to use yet (how is that possible?)  Today I decided to showcase some of my favorite SAB freebies to make sure you don’t miss out on these fun items before they’re gone at the end of the month.  I also decided to use the Fab Friday sketch challenge as the inspiration for the card layout but took some liberties with the sketch by flipping it and adding elements to finish the card.

I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock for the cardfront and added a couple of strips of the Metallic Glitter Tape (FREE during Sale-a-bration).  For the lower strip I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Tape and used a sponge and Lost Lagoon to color the glitter tape (love this ability!!)  Then I added a couple of staples over the glitter tape using the Handheld Stapler.

For the stamped image I used the Botanicals for You stamp set (FREE during Sale-a-bration) and stamped the “just for you” image on Whisper White cardstock using Blackberry Bliss ink.  I matted this with some Botanicals Gardens Designer Series Paper and attached it to the cardfrong with dimensionals.  I used some Mossy Meadow ink to stamp some of the leaf type images on the cardfront to frame the greeting.  I also stamped the small flower on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Lost Lagoon ink and cut it out with Paper Snips and attached it with a little piece of dimensional.  After it was attached to the card I curled the petals up and added a small rhinestone to the center.

I wanted to add more to the greeting but only wanted to use part of the word stamp (just wanted “awesome”) so I used my Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the word I needed and stamped it on Hello Honey cardstock.  The greeting was punched out with the Washi Label Punch (I punched it twice and used a scrap in order to make the punched piece just fit the word).  Dimensionals were used to attach the tag to the cardfront as the final piece.

I love how the Botanicals for You SAB items (stamp set and vellum) were designed to coordinate with the DSP, flower stamp set and framelits for fabulous looking projects without the guess work.  I’m also glad that even though SAB is nearly over I’ll have these items to use on future projects for fun.  I hope you have all the SAB items you’ve had on your wish list for future use, if not, run don’t walk and get your order in ASAP so you don’t miss out!

SSINKspiration Mystery Challenge #SSINKMC31: Perfect Pairings

Good morning and happy Monday!  We had a great weekend that started out busy and ended nice and relaxing.  The guys helped get my birthday week festivities started by taking me shopping and to dinner on Friday since our weekend was full.  I had birthday's on my mind when I started working on today's card for the SSINKspiration blog for the mystery challenge.  I have to admit this challenge really stumped me but I was able to used items 2, 3, 4, and 5 to create this simple looking one layer card that used lots of different stamps to build the look of texture.

My card is made using Whisper White Thick cardstock (this is really great for cardbases).  I Decided to use blues for my color scheme and started by stamped the splatter using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Bermuda Bay ink but stamped off twice before stamping so it was lighter.  Next I used the Timeless Textures stamp set and stamped the floral image several times using Bermuda Bay (stamped off once) and Pool Party ink (stamped off once).  I also stamped the grid stamp from the same stamp set using Pool Party ink (at full strength).

The greeting is from the Perfect Pairings stamp set (remember this is a Sale-a-bration FREEBIE and is only available through the end of the month so if you don't already have this set place your order soon.  I embossed it using Versamark ink and Pool Party Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool.  Next I took a sponge dauber and rubbed around the greeting using Bermuda Bay ink for emboss resist.  Since I only have one layer of cardstock I decided to add an embellishment so I took a Bermuda Bay button from the Brights Designer Buttons package and tied a bow using three strands of baker's twine, both Whisper White and Bermuda Bay baker's twine).

It was fun to see how many different shades of blue I could add to this card to help add dimension since I couldn't add paper layers.  The other designers are sharing their own takes on this challenge so go check them out and we would love for you to play along with us.

Happy Easter: Suite Sayings

Happy Easter!  I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day full of family and traditions.  We're enjoying a nice and relaxing day, which is perfect!  I wanted to share a quick and pretty Easter card (and it could easily use other greetings for whatever you need.

I started with Soft Suede cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (this was my first time using this paper and it's so soft and pretty, stunning) and let it be the focus of the card.  I wrapped a piece of Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon around the DSP.

For the greeting I used the Suite Sayings stamp set and stamped it using Soft Suede ink on Pool Party cardstock and cut it out with the Big Shot and Oval Collection Framelits.  To frame the greeting I used some Soft Suede cardstock and cut it with the Big Shot and the Lots of Labels Framelits.  The greeting was attached with dimensionals and for a final touch I used a couple of pearls at the top and bottom.

These flowers are so pretty, it really makes me think spring which is perfect for Easter wishes.

Have a happy and enjoyable Easter Sunday!

SSINKspiration Friday Favorites: Party Wishes

Happy Friday!  It’s been a busy week, Aidan has been enjoying the week of from school and Chris came home from his business trip last night so we’re looking forward to some quality family time this weekend (an hopefully a little stamping!!).  Today for the SSINKspiration blog we’re sharing some of our favorite items.  I fell in love with the It’s Your Party Product Suite from the Occasions Catalog (yes, everything in the suite) and we made this fun card earlier this month in card class.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Confetti Embossing Folder (and sponged all over the embossed parts using a sponge dauber and Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry ink) and matted this with Basic Black cardstock before attaching it to the cardbase.  Next I took a piece of  It’s My Party Designer Series Paper and cut an oval to fit inside the embossed design using the Big Shot and Oval Collection Framelits.

For the stamped image I used the Party Wishes stamp set and stamped the greeting using Basic Black ink on Vellum Cardstock (make sure to give it a little bit of time to fully dry) and then attached the vellum to another strip of designer series paper using glue dots.  I didn’t want the glue dots to show so I used a couple of the It’s Your Party Enamel Dots to cover the glue dots.   The final step was to attach the greeting piece to the cardfront using dimensionals.

This product suite is so fun and the colors are sure to brighten anyone’s day and I love that this card has a huge WOW effect but really isn’t difficult to make.  The It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Pack is huge and has so many fun designs it’s one of my favorites of all time and  you’ll find something for anything you need, not just birthdays.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge: Tin of Cards Birthday Greetings

Good morning!  Another fun-filled weekend and a great way to start spring break.  Even though we're staying home we're looking forward to a little break from the crazy busy spring activity schedule.    I have several friends with March birthdays so I decided t use this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge as the inspiration for this card for a friend.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the cardfront and started my stamped the grid image from the Timeless Textures stamp set in Pear Pizzaz ink.  Next I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut a circle out using the Big Shot and Circle Collection Framelits, embossed it with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and then sponged all over it with Crumb Cake ink to highlight the embossing.

Next I used the Fun Frames Embossing Folder and after embossing the So Saffron cardstock I used Paper Snips to cut out the frame.  The greeting is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and I stamped with Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White Ink before attaching it the frame.  The final touch for this piece was to add a rhinestone for bling.

Next I used the Botanical Builder Framelits and cut out several flower and leaf pieces to build up the flower and added a Subtle Candy Dot to the center (these framelits are so fun love how you can make the flower have lots of height and dimension.  I had a little piece of Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon on my desk so I added it to the cardfront using the Mini Stapler to ruffle up the ribbon.

I haven't used these colors together recently but they really work and help me think of springtime weather (which helps since we decided to get a little snow this weeks, crazy, I know!!) and know it will brighten up my friends day when it's opened.

SSINKspiration Punches: Washi Christmas Greetings

Happy Friday!  The crazy busy spring schedule arrived this week in full force and I’m sure you’re all feeling it with your families as well.  Today on the SSINKspiration blog we’re focusing on punches, which I love!  They can really help you elevate a card with very little effort.  At my monthly card class I always offer a Christmas card option so the ladies can gradually work on their Christmas cards all year long so it’s not as stressful (so awesome!) and for this months class we made this super fun and easy card that uses the Washi Label Punch and Merry Moments Designer Series Paper for a fun result.

I started with Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardfront and stamped all over it using images from the Timeless Textures stamp set (really hope this stamp set carries over, it’s got some great images!)  Next I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler Thick Baker’s Twine and wrapped it around the cardfront a couple of times and then tied a bow.

I used the Washi Label Punch and punched out four different patterns from the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper and attached them to the cardfront.  The greeting is from the Oh, What Fun stamp set (a carryover from the Holiday catalog) and stamped the greeting in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White cardstock, punched it out with the Washi Label Punch and then sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake ink.  The final touch was to attach the greeting so I added it with dimensionals so it pops up off the card.

This card is super easy so you could easily make it in multiples and the great thing about this card layout is that it’s perfect for helping to use of some of those scraps of paper you refuse to throw away (I know I’ll be making more of these up to replenish my birthday card stock)!

Fab Friday Color Sketch FabFri82: Easter Suite Sayings

Good morning!  Boy I must say we're having some roller coaster weather this week but yesterday afternoon was beautiful, I could definitely get used to that.  With the coming of spring it definitely has me thinking about Easter so I decided to make one of my first Easter cards of the year using this weeks Fab Friday color challenge for inspiration.

I started with Mint Macaroon cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped a couple of the images from the Timeless Textures stamp set using Basic Black and Blushing Bride ink.  Next I added a piece of Mint Macaroon designer series paper from the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack and matted it with Blushing Bride cardstock.

Being an Easter baby (I was actually born on Easter Sunday) I love this holiday so I decided to make an Easter Egg by cutting out an oval of Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and Oval Collection Framelits and then used the brush stroke image from the Work of Art stamp set to create the different colored stripes.  The greeting is from the Suite Sayings stamp set (this new set has some great greetings and fonts, love it) and stamped using Basic Black ink on Pool Party cardstock and then cut it out using the Big Shot and Circle Collection Framelits and then attached the greeting with dimensionals (behind the greeting is some silver metallic thread that I just made some loops of attached to the back of the greeting so it peaks out.

The final touch was to add a bow and I struggled to find just the right thing, and then I saw the Baker's Twine Combo Pack sitting on my desk and I decided to  separate the black from the Melon Mambo Twine and just use the Basic Black part to tie a bow and attach it to the cardfront with a glue dot, perfect!

I love how the soft subtle colors contrast with the bold black on the card, they really help accent and great a great combo.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch SSINKCS31: Party Pants

Good morning!  What a fun-filled weekend, we had a race, scout mulch delivery, baseball tryouts, and stamp class just to name a few things (no wonder time seems to fly by!!)  Even though I didn't have a lot of time in the studio but I enjoyed the time I did, it's so therapeutic.  I've bee having lots of fun playing with the new Sale-a-bration stamp set, Party Pants (it's got some really fun sayings), and decided to use it for this months sketch challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog.

I started with Tip Top Toupe cardstock for the card base and then added a piece of Pool Party cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder.  I added two pieces of designer series paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack (I haven't used the paper for awhile and forgot how much I love all the colors and prints!)

I used the Party Pants stamp set for the stamping and stamped the three balloons using Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, and Watermelon Wonder ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut them out using my Paper Snips (the balloons do match the Balloon Bouquet Punch but I don't own it).  I stamped the greeting in the yellow balloon using Basic Black ink and attached pieces of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine to each of the balloons before attaching them to the cardfront for the balloon strings (I did use a dimensional to attach the greeting balloon).  The final touch was to add a small bow using the Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Ribbon.

I had so much fun playing with this sketch and there are so many different shapes you could use for the flower shapes, we would love for you to play along with us and share your card!  Remember, we only have a few weeks left in Sale-a-bration so make sure you don't miss out on all the great items you can earn for free.

If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I decided to showcase the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper as my Sale-a-bration item and used this weeks Creativate Team challenge as the layout inspiration. I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the base (can’t believe this color is retiring in a few months, boo!) and then added a piece of the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper as a nice background and then used another pattern for the inset piece.  For the greeting I used the Greatest Greetings stamp set and was stamped on Hello Honey cardstock using Blackberry Bliss ink and then added a little piece of Watermelon Wonder  1” Dotted Lace Trim along the bottom (note, Watermelon Wonder is not one of the colors in the DSP but it’s close enough and coordinates well.  I also added one of the 2015-2017 In Color Blossom Embellishments on the greeting piece for fun.

I needed to add something to help dress this up so I decided in honor of spring to add some fun butterflies.  I cut 2 using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and then embossed them with the Big Shot and Elegant Dots Embossing Folder and then added rhinestones in the center for the body.  I wanted a smaller butterfly so I stamped one using Old Olive ink on Whisper White cardstock using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set (since I don’t have the coordinating punch I cut this little guy out with Paper Snips) and also added rhinestones for its body.  By carefully folding the butterflies and then using Tombow glue just down the center of the butterfly you can fold the wings up so there’s more movement on the card.

This card definitely screams spring and I’m sad I haven’t used this paper much so far during SAB, but I definitely have a supply to use on future projects (perhaps lots of birthday cards for #imbringingbirthdaysback).

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC31: Perfect Pairings

Good morning!  What a beautiful weekend, we were able to enjoy it all while we were busy with activities, but I was able to get a little time in the studio.  With the start of a new week it's time for some new inspiration, in this case it's time for this months color challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog.  I'll admit, I was in such a rush that when I went to make my card I used last month's colors and didn't realize it until I was finished, so this is take two, but I like it just as much, and it uses three different Sale-a-bration items that you only have until the end of the month to earn, for FREE!

I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock for the cardbase and then took a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock and embossed it with the Big Shot and Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  Next I used one of the UV resist cards from the Memories in the Making Project Life Speciality Card Collection (SAB Freebie!!) and used Rich Razzleberry ink to color it in.

I took another piece of cardstock, whisper white this time and cut it the same size as my embossed piece and this time I stamped it using the What I Love stamp set (SAB Freebie!!) using Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette ink.  The greeting is from the Perfect Pairings stamp set (another SASB Freebie!!) and was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Rich Razzleberry ink and then cut out using the Big Shot and Oval Collections framelits.  I sponged around the edge using Lost Lagoon ink before attaching the piece to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Of course I had to add some extra elements to bump this card up a level so I added some 5/8" Natural Chevron ribbon using Fast Fuse Adhesive to attach it and then a bow using Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Cotton Ribbon for the final element.

I have lots of friends birthdays coming up and with the #imbringbirthdaysback campaign I need lots of birthday cards so this is perfect and will definitely being going to a friend in the near future.  The other design team members are sharing some other cards for go check them out for inspiration and then we would love for you to play along with us.
