Masculine Thank You
We're sharing some masculine cards today over at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog. This card was inspired by a card I had found while browsing Pinterest when looking for a quick and easy thank you for my daughter's basketball coaches. I love how the little bit of washi tape goes a long way with this design and the gold glimmer paper, foil, and thread tie together nicely. And, bonus that the Star Framelits I used on this card are on the Weekly Deals this week (ends today, February 29th!)

THANKS!
It's Thanksgiving here in the United States and with this holiday comes a reminder of so many things I am thankful for! At the top of my list are all of YOU ~ those who read my blog on a regular basis, who comment when they can, send me emails or messages, or place orders. It's because of you and your encouragement that I continue to create!!
THANKS! is one small word...but it really does have a big meaning.
Now, I can't take complete credit for the design of this card. I was definitely inspired by a photo I found in the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. Although I put my own spin on it using a different flower background and adding a little more color...I knew this card was a winner when I first saw it! So simple, but bold. I just love the little pearl accents. It's all about the details!
P.S. Don't miss out on these beautiful Blossom Accents! During the Online Extravaganza (ending November 30th), they are 50% off! Click on the picture on the left to visit my online store to see all of the products on sale (heidiboos.stampinup.net)

Crazy About {Flowers}
Last month for my card making night I decided to use the Crazy About You stamp set and Hello You Thinlits (purchase as a bundle and save 15%!)
I had the Crazy About You stamp set out for all the stampers to choose exactly what message they wanted their card to say. With a quick run through of the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine with their favorite of three Hello You Thinlits adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen they were on their way in making a fun and bright card! How could you not be happy with all of those Daffodil Delight flowers (which the flower image comes in the set, by the way!)
I am showing three of the samples I made. (The design for this card was inspired by Michelle at Stampin' 365.)

Control Freaks Tour - Gratitude

If you have already been following along on the tour, you should have just arrived from LeeAnn Greff's blog. If so, you're on the right track, so continue on to enjoy some inspiration today!
I just recently held two card making nights this month. I like to try and use a couple of Fall-themed sets during October and November as I know many of my stampers enjoying handing out "thankful cards". The first two card samples use the For All Things stamp set. I was so glad when this set carried over into the Annual Catalog from last year's Holiday Catalog so I could use it longer with my customers!
The first card was inspired by Cheryl Sommers. I added some different elements as I often like to do to help make it my own! The card base is Crumb Cake and paired with a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock. Using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, I stamped the "splatter" in Hello Honey. I then stamped the watercolor background image using Crumb Cake. The wheat is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I used the 2013-2015 In-Color Washi Tape as an accent, as well as the Gold Buttons with a Linen Thread bow through the center. I added a few Gold Sequins and finished it off by stamping the "Grateful for You" in Hello Honey.
This next sample is a variation of the one I had created above. For my second card night this month I wanted to do a repeat of this card (different stampers attend), but I had run out of the gold buttons so I did a little improvising. I started with a Hello Honey card base and because I had also run out of vanilla envelopes, I decided to change the second layer to Whisper White. Everything else is the same except for in the top left corner I added a Blackberry Bliss banner that I had punched out using the Banner Punch. I then stapled to it a string of the Gold Sequin Trim. It might be a little harder to see, but I also added some tiny Pearl Accents in random places on the card. For my card nights, I often have a variety of sentiments available for the stampers to choose from, so for this sample I made it a "thanks" card with a stamp from the Another Thank You stamp set.
Just a fun side-by-side to show the differences.
Which one do you like better?
My last card I wanted to share with you today is also one I created to use for my most recent card night. It uses the set Happy Scenes stamp set from the 2015 Holiday Catalog. Many of my customers love to color, so I will often make sure there is a card where they can use some ink and Blender Pens. This card also showcases the Into the Woods DSP from the 2015 Holiday Catalog. I thought this was a fun "block" layout to help keep the card simple and make the Fall scene a stand out on this card. Obviously I didn't add many accents, but I did include some Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon and an Old Olive Candy Dot. The card has a Tangelo Twist card base and the colors in the Fall scene in the bottom right are Old Olive, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, and Daffodil Delight. I think the sentiment (from the same stamp set) is perfect for this Fall-themed card!

Product Showcase Video ~ Triple Banner Punch
Sometimes when you need to make a bunch of cards all at once you need it to be FAST! This was the case with my card I am sharing with you today. As you can see it is VERY SIMPLE in design, but because I had 14 of these cards I needed to make fairly quickly, I came up with a design that I could get working on right away!
The sketch I used to help inspire me came from Freshly Made Sketches #197. The size of the card is note card size and fits into one our note card size envelopes. I used the Bohemian Designer Series Paper and One Big Meaning stamp set. The colors are Island Indigo, Blackberry Bliss, and Very Vanilla. Watch my video below to see the Triple Banner Punch in action to help me cut those banners out in a snap! (Be gentle with me...this is my first video I created and I still have A LOT to learn, but my goal was to at least give it a try.)

Control Freaks Convention Swap Cards
While at Convention I participated in a card swap with the Control Freak Stampers. This group is full of talented paper artists and it's always so much fun to swap with them. It's even more of a treat when we get to see each other IN PERSON like some of us were able to do this past week. We each swapped two card fronts and so I came away with 28 samples to share at my upcoming events! We pushed back our tour date to the end of the month so that those of us who went to Convention could share their swaps...and for those Control Freaks who couldn't make it they get to share whatever they want today! If you have been following along already you should have come from Wendy's blog at Wickedly Wonderful Creations. If you are just joining us, get ready for some stamping inspiration!
First up is a Christmas card I created using the Santa's Gifts stamp set from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. It's never too early to get a jump on making Christmas cards, right? Some special touches I added to the card include the stars (included in the stamp set) in the top right corner which I stamped using the Versamark ink pad. I also used my Blender Pens and Real Red ink & Basic Gray ink to color in Santa's suit. I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with a 2-Way Glue Pen to the white parts of his suit (too bad you can't see this card in person...it really does sparkle!) Of course I felt like the card needed an itty bitty heart to go with the sentiment, so I punched one out using the Two-Step Owl Punch. The present is actually a separate stamp (included in the stamp set), so I stamped it on a piece of scrap paper, colored it with Mossy Meadow ink and a Blender Pen and then used my Paper Snips to cut out the intricate pieces. I then popped it up with some Dimensionals and placed it in Santa's hands. The striped paper is from the Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack called Merry Moments. I am SO HAPPY they are including Christmas items in the Annual Catalog again! The cardstock colors I used are Real Red, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow, & Whisper White.
My next card I created uses another new stamp set from the Annual Catalog...actually a couple of new sets! The background is created using a new background stamp called Watercolor Wash. This stamp makes a beautiful background like it was painted with a brush. I stamped the background using Soft Sky ink to create an ocean look. The other new stamp set is called From Land to Sea. It has some beautiful images perfect for coloring. I couldn't resist using the turtle image for this card. I stamped the turtle in Black Stazon ink and then used my Blender Pens to color him with Sahara Sand and Old Olive. I also colored in the spots of the turtle with Soft Suede. I REALLY wish you could see the card in person because I added Crystal Effects to the turtle's shell. My kids loved that technique! It just gives it a fun, glossy look. After I let it dry (for a long time!), I cut out the turtle using my Paper Snips and then popped him up on Dimensionals. I stamped a quick "thank you greeting" (using another new set!) and added some Pearl Accents for the bubbles of the turtle breathing under water. Although this card is simple in design, there were many steps to pull it all together. Although I love how it turned out, if I were to do it any differently, I would probably use a "happy birthday" greeting instead. The cardstock colors I used are Sahara Sand, Night of Navy and Whisper White.
I am so happy you came by today! I hope you will continue on the tour to see what other inspiring cards were created. The next stop is Mindy Backes at Bada-Bing Paper-Crafting.

Work of Art Thank You
It was my monthly card night last night - SO. MUCH. FUN. Seriously! Each month just keeps getting better and better...and bigger! Last night there were 18 ladies who came to join in the fun!
I CASEd this card from Jen Arkfeld at Stamped Silly. I originally saw her card posted on Facebook and loved the design! As most cards I CASE I did change it up a little to work with what I had, but the idea was definitely Jen's...most importantly the color combo of Lost Lagoon, Night of Navy, and Crumb Cake.

The guests at my card night could choose whichever sentiment they wanted. Here is a sample card using the Love & Sympathy stamp set. I also reversed the order of the blues from dark to light.

Quick & Easy - Work of Art
This is truly a Quick & Easy card!
I used one of the images from the Work of Art stamp set, inked it up with Lost Lagoon and stamped it onto the front of a pre-cut/scored note card (did you know we sell these in packs of 20 for only $5.95...and they come with envelopes!) I did not re-ink the stamp before stamping it again underneath the first image. This is how the color is a little lighter.
Using the "thanks" from the Another Thank You set I stamped it off to the side using Memento Black (my favorite black ink pad!).
I finished it off with a couple of Hello Honey flowers using the Bitty Flower Punch from the Bitty Punch Pack. I added a rhinestone to each and popped them up on Dimensionals.
There you go...quick and easy and plenty of time to spare to make as many as you need! I did whip up five of these at once as I needed some thank you cards in a jiffy!

Friday Favorites - Rich Razzleberry & Blackberry Bliss
It's Friday Favorites today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite colors out of the catalog. In fact, it's one of my favorite color duos. I have always been a fan of purple and so when Blackberry Bliss showed up in the 2014-2016 In-Colors I was so excited! This color is actually the closest purple Stampin' Up! has come out with that was what I used in my wedding (11) years ago! I created a card with this color duo and added a splash of Pear Pizzazz in there for some contrast. The giant polka dots from the Sweet Taffy DSP were a perfect addition!
I created this card for last week's Card Making Night and each of the guests got to pick whichever sentiment they wanted from the February Photopolymer Set called Lovely Amazing You. The watercolor "smear" in the background of the circle is from the Work of Art stamp set. If you look closely on the base of the card you will see that I used the Polka Dots Embossing Folder to match the polka dots of the DSP. I added a bit of Blackberry Bliss ribbon and tied off with a knot for a little something extra. I also added two hearts punched from the Hearts Border Punch and popped them up with Dimensionals. I love adding little details to a simple card.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Lotus Blossom
Time flies when you're staying busy!! Unfortunately my creative juices haven't been able to flow much lately as I have been busy with planning a pretty big family Bingo Night event at my kids' school. Therefore, this little blog got put on the back burner. But...the event was on Friday and now I hope to be back into creating again! With my monthly card night coming up this week, I sure I hope I'm in the mood! ;)
For today's Creation Station Blog Hop we were able to choose from the following (any or all):
1. Theme: Easter
2. For Peeps Sake Stamp Set
3. Lotus Blossum Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set
Because of the aforementioned busy-ness I just have one sweet, but simple card to share with you today using the Sale-A-Bration Lotus Blossom stamp set. I actually created this card for one of my card nights last week, so it's one of those cards that is easily reproducible.
This stamp set is a Two-Step Stamp Set, but technically it's a Three-Step stamp!
To create the flower I inked up the full flower image with Rose Red and stamped off once onto a scrap paper before stamping on my Whisper White. This gives the image a softer color. Then I used Rose Red again and stamped the second image right over what I had just stamped. Finally I used the third image and inked it up with Cherry Cobbler and overlapped it again creating this beautiful effect. There are SO MANY colors you can use to create this beautiful flower and I have seen some amazing samples. Just search "Lotus Blossom Stampin Up" in Pinterest and you will be WOW'd!
Adding the "thank you" on the inside of the card finishes off the sentiment from the front.
It's fun to use different embellishments clustered together. I used a Rose Red Candy Dot, Rhinestone, and Pearl to add a little something to the corner. Plus adding the texture to the background of the card base gives the card a fun look matching the dots from the patterned strip of paper in the middle of the card.

SSINK - kind koala color challenge
This little koala came in my favorite brown box last week and I couldn't wait to get him all inky. However, I had to do a little minor adjustment to this single wood mount stamp. You see...he started out looking like this...
The words "thinking of YOU" are attached to the stamp.
Although I thought it was cute, I wanted him to be a little more versatile, so before mounting the stamp I trimmed off the words and so now I only have the koala with the flower. I normally don't recommend butchering your stamps, but in this case I knew I would use him more without the words. It was tough to trim off the bottom, so you will see that there is part where it doesn't stamp as crisp as the rest of the outline of the koala. The risk I took! ;)
This card is a little thank you for all of my Craft Cleanout Sale participants and since there were 15 who joined me, I needed a quick and easy card to duplicate 15 times! I opted for using the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. These are smaller cards already pre-cut and folded and include envelopes...20 cards for only $5.95! Easy to whip up a handful of cards lickety-split!
I used the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration August Color Challenge to help inspire me. Not gonna lie...the Mossy Meadow color threw me for a loop (still waiting for the dark green to grow on me!), but in the end the splash of green was a good compliment to the extra heavy Strawberry Slush I used!

2014-2015 catalog is live!
If you haven't already heard, the new catalog is now LIVE!!
You can begin your shopping by checking out the PDF catalog HERE or check out my online store HERE. And if you want your own hard copy of the catalog, I can send you one in the mail for free with just a $25 purchase!
It's been a busy last few days in our household. We're in the home stretch with school wrapping up and that usually means lots for mommy to coordinate...not only with "kid stuff", but also my own responsibilities!
So, with that said...it's short and sweet today!
Love these Whisper White note cards you can purchase! When folded in half they are 3-1/2" x 5" and come with envelopes! You get 20 note cards and envelopes for just $5.95 (item #107311). They make it so easy for you to create quick and simple cards.
I was inspired by Julie Davison's Work of Art note cards and so I made a quick CASE of one of the note cards for a couple of friends I wanted to say thank you to! I used the Calypso Coral ink pad. At the top I inked it completely and then each time stamped again (lining it up with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig) before re-inking to create an ombre effect.

fabulous florets with a sketch and a color challenge
Tonight is my monthly card making night and I decided that I would use only retiring stamp sets to showcase some of the "good ones" that we will be soon saying goodbye to! I chose the stamp sets I had in my stash that aren't currently sold out. Yesterday, I shared the set Lacy & Lovely in a quick and easy card and today I used Fabulous Florets as the second card for card night.
I decided to have a little fun with some blog challenges this week in creating this card...
The papercrafting challenge blog, Can You Case It? is having a challenge to create thank you cards! The card below certainly fits the theme with the "Thank You So Much" from the Lots of Thanks stamp set.
For color inspiration I used the color combo from The Paper Players (PP195). So soft and pretty!
For a little help with my card layout, I used part of the sketch from Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration,
As you can see I cut part of the edge off on the right of the card and showing through underneath is some DSP. This just gives a fun twist on the card!
On the inside, I also added a small scallop border using the Scallop Dotted Ribbon Border Punch.
