Tonight in L.A. (February 22, 2013)

--> -->
Amazing how the week flies by in Los Angeles.  To help get you amped for Friday night - check out Viceroy's remix of "This Is How We Do It"

If you want to dance to music like that - head to LURE for Private Label Fridays, where Treasure Fingers throws down along with Oliver and Nick Catchdubs.  For a little filthier bass go a little north of Hollywood Blvd. to Avalon for Jack Beats, Carnage, Whiite and more.

Perhaps you're into bass, but not about those trap beats, in which case the famous Victor Wooten (of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones) at El Rey Theatre might be your sonic treat.  For other amazing musicianship - consider Jon Brion at Largo.

Those looking for the edgy indie bands might want to check out Fartbarf and Breakfast at The Smell.  For the next hot indie pop/jazz, check out Palter Ego and Monte Mar at El Cid.  Westsiders looking to drink and party should consider The Dead Ships at The Central SAPC.

Other notable shows include Kid Ink continuing to celebrate his rap life at Yost Theater, Coheed & Cambria at The Wiltern and The White Buffalo at Troubadour.  Full list of shows after the videos...

The talent is rolling through town as it inches closer to the Grammys.  If you're not on that Pre-Grammy  party tip - then consider popping into one of L.A.'s many venues.

ZZ Ward returns to Troubadour fo ra second sold out night with Delta Rae.  Get intoxicated by her cool after Martin Harley warms up the crowd.

Tonight in L.A. (October 1, 2012)

The first day of October brings a handful of fresh residencies to the LA concert scene - most notably recent Glassnote signee Robert DeLong at Echoplex.  His one man electro pop party is a marvel to see live.  Another amazing individual talent - Ed Sheeran, plays for a lucky crowd at The Wiltern with assistance from Passenger and Selah Sue.  The British phenom will likely convince crowds to be confused as to why his beautiful voice doesn't dominate American charts too.  The Sunset Strip region hosts a handful of emerging acts SUPERGOOD likes too - Fartbarf over at Whisky A Go Go and a little south - Troubadour gets a visit from Frank + Derol, Wolf Gang and The Royal Concept.

Since its Monday, you know Its A School Night, and Bardot gets a visit from the trying to, but at the same time trying not to sound like U2 act The Chevin.  They're entertaining and uniquely outfitted - and the supporting cast I know little about will probably be what most IASN nights are - pretty solid.   Its free with an RSVP here.  Other free shows include Sad Robot at Silverlake Lounge, Kera and The Lesbians and Peter Pants at Bootleg Bar, Last In Class and Balthazar at The Satellite and Superhumanoids with Mini Mansions at The Echo.
