Kiev Residency at Bootleg
Quasi-local (OC and Long Beach) act Kiev enjoy the third night of their stellar residency this Monday night at Bootleg. Their Radiohead meets My Morning Jacket meets Medeski Martin & Wood sound recalls all things that are good about music, without any of the pop, begging to be discovered, drivel. These guys make music they like - and they appear to have fun doing it too. Celebrate their latest projects at Bootleg tonight with Miya Folick, The Steelwells, MYPET and DJ Kat Corbett! And, its FREE!

Los Angeles Tonight (April 30, 2013)
Its the final day of the month - which could mean its time to tame down spending to make rent...or its time for the turn up. If its the latter - we've got a host of musical offerings to suggest.
Topping our list are two shows on the eastside. If you're feeling Brit Week, then Chad Valley is your man. He produces and sings simultaneously, effecting his vocals into some sexy, somewhat ambient strange indie electronic music. His show at The Echo is definitely worthy of your attention. For more sexy vocals, albeit a different variety that is more hip-hop and poetry informed, consider Robert Raimon Roy at Bootleg Theater. The triple R threat is joined by the soul of Jack Davey and the electronics of Jonwayne making for an eclectic, eccentric night of dopeness.
We have tickets to give away for both shows - so hit up contest@supergoodmusic.com or mention us and the artists on twitter to get in on the action!
On the grittier rock side of things consider Great White Buffalo at Hemingway's or The Record Company at The Mint. For the latter, I might advise sticking out for their Cinco De Mayo show at Venice Love Shack because its $10 for all you can drink and all you can jam out to.
Full list of shows below.

Sony@310 Sessions W/ Flavorpill & Iheartcomix
It's Monday of the last holiday shopping week - which means malls will be madness, racks will be thinning and it is time to find a diamond in the rough on your present quest. Tonight - Flavorpill, Sony and Iheartcomix give you that chance at a special Sony@310 Sessions event hosted at the Westfield Century City Sony Store.
DJ Mario Cotto of KCRW will be spinning some soundscapes as well the uber hip YACHT while IHC hosts and Pink Taco serves up free tacos and margaritas. Kind of sounds like a little holiday party if you ask me. And to make it even better - the first 25 people get free t-shirts with art designed by Geoff Mcfetridge. Not convinced? Those t-shirts are limited edition. They are that diamond in the rough present you've been looking for (as is the party).
Relaunch a new week of holiday parties tonight with Sony@310 Sessions! RSVP here!

Tonight in L.A. (December 10, 2012)
Its another week of holiday parties and scrambling to make sure you see everyone before they leave town and enter the entertainment industry dark weeks. Perhaps you'll find them at the Hurricane Sandy comedy benefit going on downtown at Club Nokia with the likes of Will Ferrell, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman and more. Or maybe a local concert like Jhameel's residency at Bootleg with support from the feisty up and coming indie-dance act Mind The Gap? Or maybe they'll be Robert Raimon Roy's record release party at The Standard Hollywood (listening begins at 10:15? Or maybe they'll be somewhere else....
If its somewhere else I might recommend Eastern Conference Champions and Bixby Knolls at The Echo, because its free or Bonhom, Diwon, E-Train, Palter Ego and Neutron at The Central SAPC because its festive and lots of jewish artists will be celebrating with Hannukah performances.

Gavin Turek - A Soulful Dose to The Central SAPC Residency
If you're not familiar with the soulful spark plug that is Gavin Turek - you can correct that by heading out to The Central SAPC tonight (or the 20th or the 27th). There's a lot of bite packed in her tiny frame - and her hybrid soul/indie/electronic music is pretty fierce.
With features on Tokimonsta records, and mashups with Ratatat - she's clearly got stripes in the game. And with an aura and attitude that has you thinking she's an entertainer before she even opens her mouth - it's only a matter of time before she's one you've heard about.
Snag the War of Words (Crips Remix) that mashes Gavin with Ratatat here.
SUPERGOOD is hosting the residency tonight - and Zak Waters, Amy Krebs and The Ross Sea Party round out the solid (and FREE) Tuesday night billing with DJ Freshair holding it down during set changes. Doors are at 7:30, music starts at 8. Hope to see you there...

Halloween Costume Party at Vanguard (10/26)
Dust off your costumes, lingerie and face masks because Halloween weekend is starting. Kicking off the party-filled, action packed weekend are the fine friends of Collaborative Media as they host their 7tn Annual Halloween Costume Party at Vanguard.
With a line up that boasts a live set from The Presets, Vito & Druzzi from The Rapture spinning the electronic wheels of steel, Miami Horror doing their DJ thing, along with Foster The People's Smims & Belle, Etienne De Crecy and DFA's Surahn - it won't just be the costumes that are dirty.... the dance floor will be too. I'm talking filthy, filthy, filthy because it will be warmed up by Mobroder, Dirty Dave, Guns in the Sun, Arod, Wishengrad, Frankie Wilde and more.
The ragefest goes until 3 am - but the freaks start coming out at 9 - so get there early! Buy tickets here. If you're lucky, maybe we will send you for free - just hit up contest@supergoodmusic.com to get in on the ticket giveaway or tweet out @supergoodmusic @CollabMedia @therealpresets!

Tonight in L.A. (October 23, 2012)
Tuesday night brings a lot of artists that your parents
haven’t heard of – but hopefully you have.
Who am I talking about?
Rising female stars Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea are joined by
Havana Brown at Yost Theater in the O.C.; KROQ Locals Only recruits MNDR to
join a retooled Shiny Toy Guns at The Echoplex and just around the corner
Jhameel, who is now a Los Angeleno, plays at Silverlake Lounge. The likes of Etienne De Crecy and Flume at
Dim Mak Studios won’t disappoint for those that like to dace either.
We also have a few pairs of tickets to give away to Helmet and Toadies at The House of Blues on Sunset tonight - so shout us out on twitter or email us at contest@supergoodmusic.com to get in on the action. And, of course, remember that Walk The Moon and Gold Fields contest from yesterday's Concert Blast - we still have some tickets to give away to that Thursday performance sponsored by LogiTech - so don't sleep....

Tonight in L.A. (October 22, 2012)
Its a sexy autumn night in Los Angeles as the air is getting chilly and Chad Valley's vocals get shrilly at Its A School Night at Bardot. Chad brings his multiple talents as support for Nashville songwriter Erin McCarley, jazzed out indie act Monte Mar and Zac
Waters also play.
Flume begins a multiple day run through the LA streets with a DJ set on the westside at Hunnypot Radio’s broadcast from The Central SAPC. If you haven’t heard his beats – correct that. Another producer I like, DJ Carnage, drops some freshness at The Roxy along with G. Easy and Kyle a.k.a. K.I.D.
Guitar licks of Kaki King can be heard at El Rey Theatre –
but if you’re looking to rock on a budget, Superhumanoids, Vum and Cayucas at The Echo would be my suggestion. Laughter? Russell Brand will put you in check at Largo.
For other shows and options - see below.
