Swedish House Mafia Masquerade Takeover

Swedish House Mafia's swan song parades through Los Angeles in March.  Its called Masquerade Motel, but may as well be a full on music festival with the way it is being marketed.  The acts final west coast performance is a two day extravaganza taking place at L.A.'s State Historic Park near downtown.

Although Saturday March 9th is already sold out, you can still get tickets to the March 8th show here.  Support performers include Nero, Alesso, Clockwork, Monsta, Zedd, Sub Focus, No_ID and more.

SUPERGOODMUSIC is hosting a contest for tickets to the show.  We will be sending a lucky winner to night 1 and another lucky winner to night 2 - each with a homie or homette of their choosing.    The way you enter is by emailing contest@supergoodmusic.com, reposting this link on your twitter, facebook or blog and/or tweeting out @supergoodmusic @livenation_LA #SHMcontest.  We will choose winners sometime before March 1st - so the earlier you enter, the better!

Halloween Costume Party at Vanguard (10/26)

Dust off your costumes, lingerie and face masks because Halloween weekend is starting.  Kicking off the party-filled, action packed weekend are the fine friends of Collaborative Media as they host their 7tn Annual Halloween Costume Party at Vanguard.

With a line up that boasts a live set from The Presets, Vito & Druzzi from The Rapture spinning the electronic wheels of steel, Miami Horror doing their DJ thing, along with Foster The People's Smims & Belle, Etienne De Crecy and DFA's Surahn - it won't just be the costumes that are dirty.... the dance floor will be too.  I'm talking filthy, filthy, filthy because it will be warmed up by Mobroder, Dirty Dave, Guns in the Sun, Arod, Wishengrad, Frankie Wilde and more.

The ragefest goes until 3 am - but the freaks start coming out at 9 - so get there early!   Buy tickets here.   If you're lucky, maybe we will send you for free - just hit up contest@supergoodmusic.com to get in on the ticket giveaway or tweet out @supergoodmusic @CollabMedia @therealpresets

Tonight in L.A. (October 10, 2012)

The 10th day of October brings some noteworthy talent to Los Angeles' stages - some right at the apex of their hype (Grimes) and others just trying to keep milking the cow (Madonna).  Both will be spectacles for sure - and Madonna's not an artist to shake a stick at - but do you want to see her at Staples Center?

I'd recommend Grimes as she performs her second sold out event at El Rey Theatre with support from Elite Gymnastics, Myths and Brooke Candy.  Two other acts that are on point right now - Circa Survive and Grizzly Bear -headline tonight too.  Grizzly Bear takes to Greek Theater with Lower Dens opening while Circa Survive stands atop a rock bill with Touche Amore, Balance and Composure and O'Brother at Club Nokia.

Other fun shows include the filthy beats and danceable tunes of Opiuo and VibeSquad at The Roxy, A House for Lions at The Central SAPC, VUM's release event at The Echo and the indie rock cover stylings of Black Crystal Wolf Kids at The Viper Room.  We've got free tickets to giveaway for Opiuo - so tweet out to us (@supergoodmusic) and @theroxy to enter or email contest@supergoodmusic.com.

Tonight in L.A. - 9.26.2012 Concerts in Los Angeles

Enjoy your last Wednesday of September with the fresh sounds of Weapons of Audio, Peach Kings, Torches and Hey Champ at The Roxy.  Its an eclectic line-up – with the indie rock Outkast-esque Weapons of Audio leading it off and the synthesized pop tunes of Hey Champ closing it out.   The Peach Kings are a charming L.A. flavored indie rock outfit that are worth seeing more than once [she rocks  - promise ;) ] and I’ll be breaking my metaphorical cherry for Torches.  If you’re looking for a dosage of new(er) acts making quality music – head to The Roxy.  Want some free access? Get to twitter and tweet out @supergoodmusic @theroxy @weaponsofaudio @heychampmusic @thepeachkings to enter.  You could also buy tickets here.

Of course – there are other options too.  Low End Theory hosts Teebs and Astronautica for the beat scene and Iheartcomix presents Django Django, Vinyl Williams and HOTT MT for a party over at The Echo.

The Features with Army Navy at The Troubadour would be my second pick – you may be familiar with the Some Kind of Salvation Nashville infused indie rock styles that The Features are known for.  Well worth the cost of admission – as are The Killers at Fonda Theatre.

IHC Getting It In This Week (Ladyhawke, Django Django, Dum Dum Girls + More)

Iheartcomix Presents really gets it in this week with four fierce shows for Los Angelenos.  Their week long extravaganza commences tonight at The Echoplex with their Ladyhawke, American Royalty and DJ Vice Cooler jam.  Get scarred by electro-indie tunes after getting your tickets here.

The IHC week continues with Django Django, Vinyl Williams and Hott Mt on Wednesday at The Echo followed by The Dum Dum Girls "End of Daze"record release show the next night at Los Globos.  Supported by the smooth DJ style of Tamaryn and additional band-age from Tremellow and Dunes - the band celebrates the drop of its 4th Ep.  It will definitely be a noise pop release party for sure - coming just a year after their second album and presumably with a performance of "Lord Knows" which received accolades from Pitchfork, amongst others earlier this year.

Dum Dum Girls - "Lord Knows"

We're sending someone and their friend - if you want to enter just tweet out @supergoodmusic @iheartcomix and @clublosglobos or email us at contest@supergoodmusic.com.  Winners picked the morning of the show.  Or buy tickets here.

Closing out the IHC run - return to Los Globos for Sepalcure, Clark, Djemba Djemba and Say Uhns on Friday night.  We're sending a lucky fan their too.  Follow the same directions as above...or just purchase tickets in advance.

Rock The Bells 2012

Saturday marks the launch of the 9th annual Rock The Bells Festival - as it returns to San Bernardino's NOS Events Center for the first of three weekends around the country.  The hip-hop mega fest is slated to deliver a hefty dosage of current heavyweights, veterans and artists who are clearly on their grind.

From the opening words of Dom Kennedy on Saturday to the final verse from Nas on Sunday - Los Angelenos and hip-hop heads from far and wide can rejoice in a celebration of the culture and some undoubtable surprises.  Some of those we can spoil for you - like the fact that Biz  Markie will join DJ Lance Rock (of Yo Gabba Gabba), Saafir and Ras Kaas reunite wth Xzibit for a special Golden State Warriors performance and Psycho Realm opens up Paid Dues Stage!  Staring into my crystal ball of festival forecasting - I also predict a few guest appearances from Travis Barker (Yelawolf), Kosha Dillz (some stage somewhere with RZA) and Chip Tha Ripper (Kid Cudi) are bound to happen....

The full official line-up includes all of the following: Kid Cudi, J Cole, DMX + Eve, Method Man + Redman, KRS - One, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Golden State Warriors, Kid Ink, E-40 (& Too Short, Deltron 3030, Chief Keef, Machine Gun Kelly, Atmosphere, Killer Mike, El-P, Immortal Technique, Casey Veggies, Dipset, Kendrick Lamar (w/ Black Hippy), Common, 2 Chainz, Tyga, Yelawolf, Future, Dom Kennedy, Jadakiss, Wu Blok, Naughty By Nature, Curren$y, Prodigy, Zion I, Grouch, Eligh, Sean Price, Watsky, Black Knights, Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Quik, Big Daddy Kane, Mix Master Mike, DJ Lance Rock & Friends , I Self Devine, Slim Da Mobster, and Psycho Realm.

You can cop your tickets at www.rockthebells.com and check out a word about the festival from one of its creators - Chang Weisberg.

Mashup Maestros Make LA's Westside Their Playground

Tomorrow night mashup superheroes - The Hood Internet - bring their crunkity collaborative jams to the dance floors of The Central SAPC, just a night after wrecking Detroit Bar...

The Chicago based duo's been critically acclaimed for the treatment of pop, indie, hip-hop and electro music alike as they frequently release hypem.com chart topping blends that make their way to most college frat party playlists.  From taking Drake and layering him over Miike Snow to cutting up Wale over M83, this duo's recipe is usually the mash up version of Emeril Lagasse - BAM!  And they've smacked you with their signature sounding hot sauce.

Download some Hood Internet tracks from their website here and peep a few more below.  Get tickets to The Central SAPC here.   Tanya Morgan and Psalm One support.

Warning - show is likely to sell out, so cop them while you can!  Try entering our contest for a pair of tickets by tweeting out @supergoodmusic @thecentralsapc or emailing contest@supergoodmusic.com if you can't afford it or are feeling lucky....
