Express Yourself @diplo TwitPic Craze

Diplo's foray into New Orleans bounce music has pioneered not only new territory for him as a producer - but also in the virility of TwitPics and Instagrams of women worldwide putting booties and legs up for a chance at a split second of RT fame.

Go to twitter and look for hashtag #expressyourself or just follow @diplo on twitter if you want to see some international ass.

Haven't enjoyed Diplo's latest sounds?  Its definitely a song of summer 2012.  Cop "Express Yourself" here.

The Screaming Eagle of Soul: Charles Bradley at Bonnaroo

Charles Bradley, without question, is one of the most amazing performers I have ever seen.  His photo should be under the definition of SUPERGOODMUSIC.  Infectious honest soul layered with enough roughness and true grit around the edges earning him the nickname "The Screaming Eagle of Soul."

Once you know his back story (he ran away from home, lived in subways, street cars and on the streets, was discovered as a James Brown impersonator under the moniker "Black Velvet") - and witness him perform - its hard to not fall in love....and I did, at Bonnaroo 2012.  Here are the pictures and videos to prove it, including a video interview with Billboard at the bottom.

SXSW = fun.

Been down in Austin for the past few days and the streets are filled with people of all shapes, colors, creeds and occupations. Music and technology is the thread that ties us all together - and musicians come here to weave themselves into that fabric.

One band having a recent catastrophic shake up to their impact on the culture-sphere is fun. Their track "We Are Young" has catapulted up Billboard charts and quickly become a cult favorite....so much so that everyone from Bing to Stubbs wants them to play their events in Austin. They were the subject of New York Times cover Arts section cover article, the topic of much discussion at SXSW and quickly everyone's favorite new band.

Apparently the act played Bing last night. If you missed the opportunity to feel young again, they play the Warehouse at 1100 5th Street on Wednesday, Friday at Stubbs and probably a few other places. Check out their video for "We Are Young" feat. Janelle Monae below and also "Some Nights."

Jhameel - "Shut Up" Video

Got to give it up to Jhameel for crunching out some of my favorite recent blends of indie, soul and pop. Mixing up flavors from Michael Jackson to Prince to Adam Levine (see his drunken videos below) - the young Asian indie rocker is generating real buzz.

Real happy to have had him play in L.A. as part of our SUPERDOPE concert series, and even happier to see that he kicked off 2012 delivering some goodies. That treat is his music video for "Shut Up," easily my favorite song of his from 2011. The video features a tasty vixen and lots of dust kicking. If you're not satiated - watch some of Jhameel's drunken covers of popular music below....5 O'Clock, Moves Like Jagger and Pretty Young Thing.
