The Bakery: 5

It has been so exciting to see what all you creative people out there are doing with Baked Texture, my new embossing powder for artists from Emerald Creek. My hope with these powders was that people would find non-traditional ways to use them. And you haven't disappointed.

Linda Cain is an absolute magician and alchemist with Baked Texture. Among her many creations are embellishments which ultimately find a home in her artwork. Take a look and be amazed....

I'd swear that these were old metal pieces rather than chipboard covered by Linda with Baked Texture. She used Ancient Amber, Deep Sea and Patina Oxide.

And look at what she has done with Vintage Beeswax.

Here she has mixed Patina Oxide and Chunky Rust

These beads were first painted with my PaperArtsy paints in Midnight, Terracotta and Mahogany, then rolled in ink and covered with a variety of Baked Texture.

A blend of my PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics and Baked Textures.

Clearly Linda is a master at pumping up the volume by using Baked Texture on embellishments. But she is also a whiz at...

...creating surface texture with Baked Texture, mixing Dirty Sand with micro beads and glass glitter...

...traditional stamp effects, here using Chunky Rust.

And here is one more...just because!

If you liked what you saw, head over to visit Linda at her blog and tell her Seth sent ya!

Get Wrapped, Baked, and Painted!

There is nothing I like more than a good collaboration and today I am over-the-moon excited to join forces with Emerald Creek, PaperArtsy and Eileen Hull to bring you the Get Wrapped Blog Hop.

This online hop highlights artwork from a large number of artists who have created magic using Eileen's Wrapped Journal die, my paints from PaperArtsy and Baked Texture and other embossing powders from Emerald Creek.

I love the spirit of inclusion here, with multiple companies - from Canada, the UK and the USA -working together. And artists from all three countries as well. These artists were encouraged to go their own way and to use any other products from any other companies that they choose.

Be inspired, learn new techniques, and celebrate the collective talent in this group! Hop along and make sure to check out each and every post. You don't want to miss a thing!

StencilGirl + Emerald Creek = Magic

What do you get when you take 14 helpings of StencilGirl and mix that with 14 helpings of Emerald Creek? Well the answer is magic of course. And one major blog hop and giveaway.

Emerald Creek and StencilGirl are truly a match made in heaven. Both are small, family-owned and run companies. Each has taken a traditional craft product (embossing powder/stencils) and applied their own very special spin.

So come celebrate this pairing by seeing the amazing artwork created by 14 talented artists.  Oh...and did I mention there is a giveaway (scroll down for info)?

Possibility
(sold. thank you)

My contribution to the hop was created using one of my all-time favorite stencils, Creative Halo designed by Pam Carriker. She has 4 stencils in her Halo series and by total synchronicity, my mini circle stencils fit inside the halos, given you many more creative options.

Working on a painted sheet of watercolor paper, I used a sponge to press adhesive from an embossing pad through both the halo portion of Pam's stencil and my Crossed stencil.

My stencil was then embossed with Rocky Road Baked Texture and the squares in the halo were embossed with Deep Sea Baked Texture, Patina Oxide Baked Texture, Rocky Road Baked Texture and Hammered Metal Embossing Powder.

Collage and much mark making were then added to the surface. The word Possibility, from my new Impression Obsession Journal Jargon 5 stamp set was the finishing touch.
