Creative Inspiration - Week 38 2015

Good morning everyone.

Hope that this week finds everyone well.

I have been busily scrapping my little fingers off. I seem to have my mojo back and am glad to be able to have a play around with some more of this super yummy Carte Bella paper range that Leanne sent me to play with.

This week I have create a layout to share with you all and here it is...
I have played with the floral papers from the range this week and teamed it up with cream and black. I love adding that little bit of black and cream, or white, to a layout as it adds a little bit of a bold feature to the layout. I even cut the base layout done and then mounted the whole layout onto black card stock.

I cut out some circles from black chipboard to add a bit of feature to the layout and then hand stitched with some matching floss to the chipboard circles. I also found a "&" symbol in my stash and decided to use that for my title. I have covered it in some of the matching paper from the range.

There are some of these cute little journal spots in the paper range. I have managed to use one of there to add a date to my layout to finish it all off.  I also added some hand stitching to the layout to add a few feature here and there.

I had a blast creating this layout and cannot wait to play around with a bit more bits and pieces that have been sent to me this month.

Hope that you all get a chance to scrap and play this weekend like I hope to.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 32 2015

Hello everyone.

So ends another week and what a busy one here we have had.

I have been madly scrapping but I can't share with you yet what it is all for.

However I can share with you this week a layout created using some more of the Crate Paper - Open Book Paper range.

So here's the layout I have created this week.
I love the pink tones in the wood panel patterned paper in this range. I have used this as my starting point for the layout and then just added from there.

I have to admit I did have a cream piece of card stock originally as the base for the layout. However as I pre-cut then layout and came back to it a few days layer I really wasn't happy with the base. I do this some times and that is why I find it best not to adhere anything down until I am completely happy with the layout and positioning of it all.

To add to the change of card stock colour for my base I also added in a few extra stripes of matching patterned paper. I felt that the layout was missing that little bit extra. I also have added a pink doily that came from some packaging sent to me.

As the layout primarily had a dusty pink feel to it I decided to add a few pops of the aqua green that also features in the paper range. I have mixed my title up with some glitter alpha thickers and some mini alpha stickers on another of the cute coloured paper doilies from Mad About Scrappin.

I still have a lot of the sticker tickets in my stash that are really old. They have a mix of letters on them that just didn't suit what I have wanting to use them for so I have added a piece of the wood panel paper to the centre to tie them all into the layout.

In continuing with adding a little bit of the aqua to the layout I have added some of the arrow washi tape that Leanne sent to me to play with from Mad About Scrappin. I have then added some stitching using a permanent markers for a few highlights on the layout. Then finished the layout off with a cut matching flair and some matching aqua toned enamel spots from last months kit.

I quite like the different feel to this layout. I love the combination of the dusty pink and aqua.

Finally also working through more and more of the odds and ends of my stash too.

Well.. back to get creative.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 31 2015

With the weather here in Adelaide being miserable lately I think that it carries over to feeling like hiding away next to the warmth of the heater.

I have had a chance to play around with a few more bit and pieces from this paper range by Crate Paper - Open Book.

This week I have created a fun layout using a mix of papers from the range.
Now it's not often I get photos to scrap of my eldest daughter... she usually hides from the camera.  I found this photo when I was sorting through a stash of photos I had printed a while ago. The colours in the photo worked really well with the papers in this range.

I have a bucket load of really old alpha rub ons that are really not in the best shape. I really didn't want to just chuck them out as I know that would just be a waste of money so have decided to use them up where-ever I could. I have used up a few mixed alphas on the base of this layout to mix it up a little. I didn't want to go with just the girlie floral feel of the papers in the range.

I have also hand stitched on some of the punched circles and the photo mat to add a bit of texture to the layout. I quite enjoy stitching on layouts and it is a quick way to add a bit of detail to a layout.

I have then added in a few features by using a journal spot, date spot and "today" tab in bold pink to added a bit of a different feel to the layout. It has helped to create the cross between a floral girlie look to the brighter bolder look.

Quite a simple layout but I have used up some more rub ons that that have been taking up space in my scrap area.

Well... back to get some scrapping done.

Creative Inspiration - Week 28 2015

Good morning everyone.

Wow... another super busy week here. In between getting kids back to school after school holidays I have been juggling getting sorted for study, calisthenics preparations and have had multiple doctors appointments from one end of town to the other.

Now.. I have the last layout I created a few weeks ago that I was super bad and didn't share to show you this week.

I played around with the last bits and pieces from the MME Wild Berry paper range that Leanne sent me.

So here's the layout I had created to share....
I love the bold lime green in this paper range. I have really made it pop by matting it onto some black card stock as my base for the layout. I have to admit too to always smiling myself every time I see this photo of my youngest daughter. It kinda makes me giggle. I mean we always seem to document the good moods and the smiles.. however this particular day my daughter was just not happy. I was running around with camera madly snapping away and managed to snap her looking this this. I said smile and this was the look I got. lol.

No to add a little bit extra I have played around with a few ticket stubs from my stash. I have then layered a mix of a kraft paper bag, washi tape and some stickers from my stash which all matched perfectly with the bright bold paper range. I love the nylon rosette too. Adds a bit of a feminine feel without being too girlie.

I have added a bit of detail to the layout too by hand stitching with some white floss on the black. I love the feel of the stitching on a layout. I then finished off the layout with some acylic alphas from my stash which I added a bit of sparkle to with some kindy glitz.

Super quick layout to create but heaps of fun.

Well.. back to the scrapping grind stone.. have a fun card to share with you tomorrow.

Creative Inspiration - Week 26 2015

Hello all.

I have been busy this week with a mix of scrapping, studies and looking after kids.
I have also had a chance to play around with a bit more of the MME - Wild Berry paper range.

So here the layout that I have created this week to share.
I have created a layout using another photo of my daughter just before her Graceful Girl performance. The floral papers from this paper range matched perfectly with the colours of her costume.
I have included a few home made digital cards in the muted grey colours to match in with the grey striped washi tape I have used as my border.

I found some metallic card stock in my stash that I really wanted to add some sparkle with to my layout. I used a wooden vine template from my stash to create the metallic vines. Must say I quite enjoyed getting some fussy cutting done this week. It was quite therapeutic.

I had a journal date spot from Mad About Scrappin, that matched perfecting with the blues in this paper range. I then had some matching glitter alphas that I have finished off the layout with to create a title. I love the feel of this layout. It looks very feminine and have a lot of dimension with the vines that I have created.

Once again quite a simple layout using a mix of the floral and plain paper from the MME - Wild Berry range to create this girl layout.

Creative Inspiration - Week 23 2015

Good Morning..

Today I am sharing with you  a layout that I have created using this bright and bold paper range by MME - Wild Berry.

I was very lucky to be sent this paper to play with in this months kit. I couldn't wait to get into it as the colours really just pop out at you.

Here's this weeks layout in full.
Okay.. I have to admit that at first I may have felt a little intimidated by the bold large print of some of the paper range. However once I got cutting it up and mixing it around I found that it really worked well. I have also managed to use up some old tags from my stash that worked well for this.

I really have layered up the mixed patterns in this layout. They all work so well together. I found some cute arrow tag stickers in my stash too that matched perfectly to add a bit of feature here and there to the layout too. Then tied the date to the page by framing it with a black mini Polaroid frame. super cute to play with.

You can see the cute bird on a wire washi tape just peeking through there too that I was sent to play with too. I just love it and the colours of the birds work perfectly with this paper range. Helps too to create the whimsical look I wanted to record my daughters crazy birthday party fun.

Quiet a fun layout to create using some fun paper.

looking forward to sharing more from this paper range.

Get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Week 22 2015

Hello... Hello...

Well... with the end of another month comes the last of another paper range to share.

I have very much used up every last teenie little bit of the Princess paper range by Echo Park this month. I loved playing around with this paper range for sure on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

So here's the layout I have to share.
I have used up the last bit and pieces to create a layout about my daughter recent birthday party. The paper range worked really well with the party photos. The layout has a bit of a different feel to it as well with the "sections" that have been set up with this design. It was also a little different for me to use multiple photos and for the photos to be this small too.

I really love the tea cup and teapot stickers from the matching sticker set as they tied in with the tea party theme of my daughters party.

I have also added some stitched detail to the layout. It had added a patch work effect and has added to the whimsical feel to the layout. It was also a perfect way to tie all the little scraps of patterned paper together too.

The matching stickers in this range as just so cute. I have used one of the stickers, the "girl" pennant flag, as the main part of my title. I have adhered it using some 3D foam tape and finished off the title with some large alpha stickers.

I have finished off the layout by using the matching stickers in the range. To create a bit of interest, I have adhered them with 3D foam tape.
AND.... I have to admit to not being a sticker person HOWEVER...I love this carriage sticker it is just so cute and the sticker are just perfect in this paper range too..

To finish off the layout I have added in the date the party happened. I love adding in the date on some of my layouts too using a date stamp. I find this the perfect way to document when the events happen too.

Had a ball playing with the last bits and pieces from this paper range. I am a little sad that this is finished.

However am looking forward to sharing with you a new paper range to start the next month.

Well... better get back too getting my scrap work done.

Thanks for stopping by.

Creative Inspiration - Week 21 2015

Wow! It's the end of yet another week.

It all seems to flying by at the moment.

This week I have a very quick layout to share using the Princess -  Echo Park paper range.

Here's this weeks layout.
I have kept it simple this week as I have been super busy.  I have used some kraft card stock as the base for this layout to create a very different feel.
I decided to work with the bolder pinks of this paper range as the little girl in the photo is rather bright and bubbly. I added a small paper doily to tie in a little white and then printed a digital stamp onto a graph journal card to add some feature to the background.

I have used a mix of the matching stickers in the range create a bit of a journaling feature down the left side of the photo. Super easy and finished it off with the matching crown which I have adhered using 3D foam tape to add some dimension.

What I love most about this kit is the cute stickers that match. They work so well to be able to embellish a page quickly. I have used a glittered frame from my stash to the bottom left of the layout which I have added the dress form too. But before I have adhered it I have added a sheer white ribbon bow to add a bit of texture to the layout.

Super quick and super fun layout to create of a very bubbly giggly little girl I know.

Well back to it.

Till next time I share.

Creative Inspiration - Week 20 2015

Hello all.

It has been a cold, wet and windy week here in Adelaide, South Australia.

Perfect weather to be hiding inside to scrap away in the warm.

Once again I have been playing around with some more of the Echo Park - Princess paper range that Leanne from Mad About Scrappin sent to me.

This week I have a layout to share with you all.
Have quite a few photos of my second youngest daughter in her Graceful girl costume and though this paper range would be perfect to scrap one of the photos. The paper range is quite girlie with all the pinks in the range so it was perfect for a layout of my princess.

I have used white card stock as the base however found that it looked a little stark against the boldness of these papers. So I have inked the edges of the patterned paper and the white card stock. I have also stamped the top left corner using some dove grey staz on to add a subtle pattern in the background.

I have quite a few doilies in my stash including the latest addition of some metallic ones. I find the gold metallic ones a little harder to play with but I am in love with the silver ones. I thin k because silver seems to go with more. I have tucked half a silver doily behind the photo as the base for my embellishment cluster.

I have ruffled some matching lace ribbon which has created a bit of dimension. I have mixed up some a variety of paper flowers, a paper butterfly and some bakers twine to embellish this page.

To finish it off I have added a matching word sticker as my title adhered with 3D foam, scattered some white sequins and added the final bit of bling to my butterfly.

Love the final effect of all the girlie goodness.

Well off to finish off some more layout to share real soon.

Have a super weekend.

Creative Inspiration - Week 13 2015

Good morning all.

I almost forgot to get this blog post up and running.

Anyways... once again I have been playing around and making a mess with some more of the "Something Wonderful" product range from Teresa Collins.

This week I have certainly made a bit of a mess creating this layout as I have played around with a bit of paint for my base.
I still have a bucket load of card stock in a wonder of colours that I just cant seem to work with. Well this week I decided it was time to hit that stash. Will a bit of paint and some stamping I have been able to create a base that I was happy with. I have also trimmed the green card stock and matted it with the white to tie in the patterned paper.

All the embellishments on this page tie into the wood veneer frame that I have used to frame my photo. This keeps the embellishments simple as I have mixed them up. Because it has been kept simple the brighter colours of this paper really pop out.

I had a ball playing around with some embroidery floss and stitching on this layout. I felt it added that little bit extra. I like too how it works with the whole square pattern of this layout that I have carried through with everything. I like how the stamp just peeks through too. I have used a dove grey staz on ink so that the stamped pattern is subtle in the background.

Have you got a pile of card stock just sitting there in your stash you don't use ?

Why not mix it up and create your own base.

Till next week,

TFL, M x
